By Paul Nyathi|The Welshman Ncube led MDC’s Deputy President Edwin Mushoriwa on Saturday escaped a hit and run incident executed by suspected state security agents.

Party Spokesperson Kurauone Chihwayi told ZimEye.com that Mushoriwa was involved in the schemed road accident while driving along Harare drive in the Capital on return from an MDC Alliance rally in Chipinge.

According to Chihwayi, Mushoriwa’s vehicle was bumbed on by a Central Intelligence Organisation vehicle which they identified.

“All the four occupants escaped unhurt when their vehicle was hit by a Central Intelligence Organisation CIO operative who fled the scene at high speed,” said Chihwayi.

According to him, the MDC is fully convinced that the purpose of the hit and run incident was an attempt at Mushoriwa’s life.

“The MDC is not ruling out foul play at the moment given ZANU PF’s elimination history and CIO linkage to mysterious accidents,” he said.

Comment could not immediately be obtained from Mushoriwa on the incident.
