Controversial war veterans leader Victor Mademadanda has described the country’ s main opposition party, MDC as an extension of western imperialists.

Matemadanda is the Secretary General of the Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association.

Matemadanda told a State run weekly paper on Saturday, war veterans would not work with the MDC because of the party’ s sinister political objectives.

“No war veteran in his or her right sense can go to bed with MDC because of ideological differences,” said Matemadanda.

“To be frank we will never have a political link with MDC because we cannot associate ourselves with imperialists.

By the way we are not a mercenary force, so how can we work with MDC? We are living in different hemispheres,” added Matemadanda.
