By Own Correspondent| A Harare Magistrate Eric Kadye has acquitted Zimbabwe Conference of Sabbath Keeping Church Pastor Dwight Eric Haynes (61) of fraud and forgery.

Haynes who is an American citizen, was accused of forging a Zimra receipt after allegedly converting $1 500 church money meant for his work permit to his own use.

Haynes however, denied all charges saying that the state’s witness Norman Joel was actually the one who had applied for the permit. He also said that Joel was the custodian of all the receipts.

Magistrate Kandy acquitted Haynes on the basis that there was no evidence of wrongdoing as he was not the custodian of the receipts presented in court as exhibits.-Newsday
