Minister Perrance Shiri Flies To Lion’s Den Following Explosion Which Claimed Four Workers

By Own Correspondent| Outgoing Minister of Lands, Agriculture and Rural Resettlement, Retired Air Chief Marshall Perrance Shiri flew to Lion’s Den in Mashonaland following an explosion at GMB which claimed 4 workers.

The explosion, which resulted in fire in the control tower plant saw parts of the foundation of the silos being ripped apart and strewn a few metres away from the silos.

Shiri, could however not be drawn to comment on the source of the explosion revealing that more details would be availed after investigations.

Said Shiri:

“Investigations will be carried out by forensic experts to ascertain the real cause of the explosion, while engineering experts will have to assess the extent of the damage to the plant and the silo in question.”

Several concrete blocks forming the foundation of the silo’s escape route were ripped up and strewn metres way off the storage facility.

Three people were rescued, including one who was affected by carbon monoxide as he tried to render rescue services.
