When the late former First Lady Sally Mugabe suddenly died on 22 January 1992, no-one had a clue that the man who posed as her “dialysis technician”, was in fact a fake doctor, and this is the very same man Emmerson Mnangagwa has in the last 24 hours chosen for the post of Health Minister, Obadiah Moyo.

Mnangagwa yesterday chose Moyo as the country’s new Health Minister. The ZANU PF leader even printed out that Moyo is a Medical Doctor. But the man has been long exposed as a fake doctor as far back as 2008 by the US embassy. He had at the time travellled to the embassy to defend ZANU PF’s collapsed health system.

 
Last night Moyo was exposed on ZimEye for lying that aspiring nurses are not being forced to pay bribes in Chitungwiza.

The cable memo dated November 20 authored by Ambassador James McGee, says
the man’s “overly rosy description of his (Chitungwiza) hospital provided a glimpse at the political sensitivities of the health system.”

He lied and presented “ a substantially different picture”.

The cable says further checks on Moyo’s medical background “who asked us several times to keep his visit to the embassy secret” show that he did not tell the truth about his qualifications.

To further compound and confirm the intriguing findings, the Zimbabwe Medical and Dental Practioners database reports that Mr Obadiah Moyo does not exist anywhere on its files. SEE THE BELOW database printout which however shows the former minister David Parirenyatwa as duly registered –
