By Own Correspondent| Opposition leader Nelson Chamisa has revealed that there has not been any communication between him and President Emmerson Mnangagwa adding that the struggle was not about perks, positions or entitlement but about the people’s will.

The statement comes amid revelations by President Mnangagwa in an interview in U.S where he is attending the UN General Assembly that his administration would soon create the opposition political party leader’s position in parliament in accordance with Commonwealth democratic practices.

However Chamisa said:

“Do not be misled by headlines. For the record, there is no offer from Mnangagwa and no dialogue or contact with him.

You chose me to lead the executive and government not Parliament. Your mandate to me is not to be a member of parliament.

Thank you for the confidence and trust in us. Our struggle is by and for YOU THE PEOPLE OF Zimbabwe.

Your WILL and wellbeing come first. My role in the struggle is not about perks, position, title or entitlement but to fight for you.

I will never betray or disappoint.#Godisinit”
