By Own Correspondent| Four people were reportedly shot and injured in Epworth, Harare for taking part in today’s protests against the government.
According to a NewsDay report, 8 people have been arrested for taking part in the protests and the police are reported to be moving from house to house smashing in doors in order to arrest the people inside.
The Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Union (ZCTU), various groups and individuals have called for a three day stay away after President Emmerson Mnangagwa hiked the price of fuel by over 140 per cent.
Several businesses which had initially opened in the morning have closed shop after a Choppies shop was looted.
In Chitungwiza, schools have also closed for the day amid unconfirmed reports that teachers were assaulted by security details for not taking heed of the stay away.
Parents were asked to come and collect their children way before school ended.
