By Paul Nyathi|Unconfirmed reports indicate that at least three people amongst them a lower grade school child may have died during the citizens protests that took place in the country today.

The Voice of America reports that a lower grade child is reported to have died in a stampede after police fired teargas into a primary school in Mabvuku high density suburb of Harare.

Further reports claim that two of the four people confirmed to have been shot at by the police may also have died from the gunshot wounds.

Zimbabwe Doctors for Human Rights confirmed that at least eighteen people with varied levels of injuries including gun shot wounds and wounds from massive beatings were attended to by doctors within their circles.

The doctors heavily castigated police for using live ammunition to deal with unarmed protesters.

Police have not been willing to comment on the allegations that people died in the protests.

Several properties including a tollgate, police station and police vehicles and some private properties whose value is yet to be determined were destroyed during the protests.
