Tendai Biti Challenges Conviction, Says The State Erred

By Own Correspondent| Following his conviction last week for violating sections of the Electoral Act, MDC Alliance vice national chairperson Tendai Biti has appealed against a Harare magistrate Gloria Takundwa’s ruling.

Biti was last week convicted of violating sections of the Electoral Act after he allegedly announced false presidential election results following the 2018 July polls:

Said the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR) in a statement|

“Human rights lawyer and MDC-Alliance Vice-Chairperson Tendai Biti appeals against his conviction and sentence for contravening the Electoral Act and argues that Harare Magistrate Gloria Takundwa grossly erred and misdirected herself in convicting him and imposing a $200 fine.”
