By Own Correspondent- Mutare City Council has suspended seven employees attached to the finance department on allegations of fraud.

The workers, Moreblessing Dhliwayo, Hazvineyi Magobeya, Lovemore Murambwa, Duncan Nehara, Abigal Makweche and Tsitsi Katombo, were recently suspended without salary and benefits.

They will appear before a disciplinary panel next week after they reportedly siphoned thousands of dollars through dubious transactions in the banking hall.

Town Clerk, Joshua Maligwa confirmed the suspensions. He said the local authority was working around the clock to plug illegal financial leakages that were prejudicing council millions of dollars.
