By Talent Gondo| An official from the Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday appeared before a magistrate facing indecent assault charges involving a woman who had visited his offices.

Wilbert Mugoni (41) allegedly fondled 29-year-old Netsai Chigodora of Marondera in Paradise Park in the town.

The incident allegedly happened on May 22 this year after the accused had obtained the complainant’s number and called her for a rendezvous after working hours.

Chigodora had earlier been to the offices to inquire about the delay in the processing of her travel document.

Mugoni pleaded not guilty to the charge when he appeared before magistrate Rumbidzai Munemo.

He was remanded out of custody on free bail and is expected to appear in court on Friday (today).-Newsday
