Sam Meyiwa, the father of slain Orlando Pirates goalkeeper, Senzo Meyiwa, has passed away. He was in and out of hospital after suffering a stroke last year.

Over the years Meyiwa complained about police’s failure to solve his son’s murder.

The former Bafana Bafana captain was shot and killed in Vosloorus in 2014.

A suspect was arrested but later released after police failed to link him to the murder.
