The MDC National Chairman Hon Thabitha Khumalo, MDC Bulawayo Provincial Organising Secretary, Hon Helen Mpofu, Elliot Mujeri, Tinashe Matimbure and three (3) other party members were arrested earlier today while their were conducting an awareness campaign for the next people’s Free Zimbabwe march that will be held in Bulawayo on Monday.

They were initially detained at Tshabalala Police Station.

However, they have now been transferred to the Law and Order section at the Bulawayo Central Police Station.

Nosimilo Chanaiwa, Godfrey Nyoni from the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights have been assigned to the case.

It is not clear yet as to what charges they might be facing.

So far we have been denied access to our leaders. We have also been barred from giving them any food.
