By A Correspondent- Heavily armed anti riot police Monday morning descended on Chitungwiza magistrates courts where 12 MDC supporters are set to appear in court following their arrest on Saturday barring other party stalwarts from entering the courtroom.

The 12 spent the weekend behind bars after they were arrested in St Marys Chitungwiza following clashes between anti riot police and suspected MDC supporters.

Unconfirmed reports allege that the police went on a rampage assaulting civilians before arresting known MDC stalwarts, including the party’s national youth assembly spokesperson  Stephen Sarkozy Chuma. Those arrested were reportedly picked up from their homes.
