By Own Correspondent| The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) has confirmed the arrest of Health Minister, Obadiah Moyo on corruption charges, with the former Chitungwiza hospital Chief Executive Officer set to appear in court today.
They did not speak concerning the man’s sudden release soon after arriving at the police station yesterday.
In a statement on the Twitter website, ZACC said,
“ZACC confirms the arrest of the Minister of Health and Child Care Obediah Moyo on allegations of criminal abuse of duty related to the procurement of COVID 19 drugs. He is going to appear in court today. As ZACC we continue to say REFUSE, RESIST AND REPORT CORRUPTION,” the anti-graft body said.
Moyo is involved in a controversial deal that saw a shadowy company Drax International being awarded huge government contracts worthy over US60 million dollars.
The dubious company owned by Delish Nguwaya inflated prices of N95 face masks which were supplied at a whopping US$28 against a local price of US$2.
