Gatherings Of Two People Banned- ZRP Issues Notice

By A Correspondent- ZRP has prohibited the Highlanders Annual General Meeting which was supposed to be held on 31 January and the club’s general elections which were scheduled for 7 February on the basis that gatherings of more than 2 people have been banned to curb spreading COVID-19.
In a letter addressed to Highlanders CEO Nhanhla Dube, ZRP said:
RE NOTIFICATION TO HOLD ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING AND EXECUTIVE ELECTIONS Al HIGHLANDERS FOOTBALL SPORTS CLUB BULAWAYO ON 31 JANUARY 2021 AND 7 FEBRUARY 2021 RESPECTIVELY FROM 0900 TO 1030 HOURS
- Refrerence is made to your letter dated 11 January 2021.
- This office acknowledges receipt of the letter and has noted your request
- However gatherings of more than two people have since been banned as per new COVID-19 lockdwn restrictions meant to curb the spread of the pandemic and your event is not an exempted essential service.
- It is from this background and due to the increase in coronavirus cases that the event is not recommended.
