By Problem Masau| Traditional singer Luckson Chikutu popularly known as Manluckerz says artistes should adopt to the new normal and find ways to survive during these trying times of the pandemic.

Local musicians have not staged outdoor performances to the public in the last year making it difficult for most of them to survive.

Artistes have pleaded with the government to ease the lockdown which had seen gigs being banned.

However, the veteran singer Manluckerz who has been connecting with his fans at home and abroad through digital means said artistes should use their social media handles to stay relevant and in touch with their fans.

The Swedish based artiste said musicians should provide each other with a shoulder to lean on through collaborations.

“It is not easy for us to survive nowadays! As artists, we need to collaborate/cooperate and help one another in this struggle for survival. We should think of giving a way and open the doors for those who cannot get the access or afford to book of live streaming gigs. Artists should spread/share their work during pandemic through Facebook or YouTube,” he said.

While acknowledging that the Coronavirus outbreak has slowed his work a bit, Manluckerz has refused to let the pandemic ground him.

He has been one of the musicians who has constantly quenched fans’ thirsty through live streaming performances on Facebook and you tube.

The musician was the toast of fans on May 29 when he serenaded fans with a gig dubbed “Calming and Relaxing Night with Manluckerz”
