By Crime and Courts Reporter-Seven people lost their lives in a horrific three-vehicle crash in Dzivaresekwa Wednesday morning.

According to a police statement on X, the accident involved a Toyota Hiace commuter omnibus, a haulage truck, and a UD 70 truck. 

The collision occurred at the intersection of Bulawayo Road and the Dzivaresekwa turn-off near Thuli Service Station.

“Seven people were killed, while eight others sustained injuries. Preliminary investigations indicate that the kombi driver failed to yield at the traffic light-controlled junction, leading to the crash. More details will be released in due course,” police said.

The news was first reported by ZimEye, which spoke to eyewitnesses who described the devastating scene.

“An early morning collision between a commuter omnibus and a haulage truck along Bulawayo Road has resulted in multiple deaths and serious injuries,” one witness told ZimEye.

Authorities have urged motorists to exercise caution as investigations into the tragic accident continue.
