historymysteryzimbabweDID YOU KNOW? ….That the late former Prime Minister Ian Smith in 1948 became the youngest MP at the age of 29 a record which was broken by young MDC politician, Nelson Chamisa who in 2003 became an MP at 25 (the youngest ever Zim politician since Cecil John Rhodes). By Mike Watson: Ian Smith attained BCom (Economics) Rhodes, attended Gwebi College, was a famous world war 2 fighter pilot based in Egypt, Italy, Denmark and Germany attaining the rank of Flt Lieutenant. He achieved top honours at school and University, and was an achiever driven to succeed in anything he set his hand to. He did not need an AK47, he did it by using his intelligence, ability, personality and hard work. He wasn’t handed anything on a plate; he worked hard for all he achieved. His vision as a leader and role model is legendary.

  1. Point of order!!! I beleive Tafadzwa Musekiwa was younger than Nelson Chamisa when he became an MP, so how can Chamisa be the youngest MP in the history of Zimbabwe right now?

  2. There is no record breaking at all by Chamisa. Joice Mujuru became the youngest MP when she entered Parliament at 25 in 1980 and became the youngest ever Cabinet Minister. Chamisa only follows in the footsteps of Joice Mujuru as far as the Legislature is concerned.
Nothing to really write home about!!

  6. OPEN LETTER TO VICE PRESIDENT EMERSON D. MNANGAGWA
“Be as soft as COTTON WOOL only AFTER and not BEFORE SEX”
Let me start by congratulating you on your richly deserved appointment as our Vice President and also beseech you not to trace and find who I am for I know you are quite capable of doing so, and that frightens me.
Over the past few days I have noticed that efforts are being made by both yourself and some of your peers to try and portray you as a soft person. Need I remind all and sundry, and I dare say even yourself that it is your perceived hardness and cunningness coupled with your perceived brute strength and courage to deal with a plethora of complex issues successfully and achieve desired results that landed you the job of Vice President. They are waiting in the veranda – those from Europe, the United States, “Gay Britain” and from that country of convict ancestry-Australia – with glorifying commentaries, glowing newspaper articles and all manner of praise phrases, they are waiting to give you television coverage portraying you as a “soft” person with whom they can do business, unlike, of course the man they dread the most, our soul of the nation, President Mugabe. But remember that if they want you soft, it is probably because they want to chew you without damaging their evil-smelling and insatiable jaws. They want to “Gaddafi you” and indeed that is the aim of all those that are going to cheer and toast your desired posture as a soft person.
We want you to be someone whose mere mention will send a shiver up the spines of wrong doers, corrupt people, saboteurs sellouts, and above all those engaged in what I would call “SELLOUT ENTERPRISE” – the likes of Crisis Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights, Zim Rights, and all so called whistle blowers who are on the enemy’s pay roll. We want you to be the person who will end all political discord in our country. Those who shall lift their heads above water in order to cause despondency and anarchy in the country for the satisfaction of foreign paymasters should know that their heads can and will be smashed to powder.
True, you should be soft, but like the human male organ, you should only be soft after “sex” – that is after putting in order and securing for the people, Zimbabwe’s interests, its natural resources, its wealth and sovereignty for posterity.
Please protect President Mugabe’s legacy. You have a duty to ensure that Zanu PF policies continue for ever. The name Mugabe should be written in every household, in every Zimbabwean’s mind in indelible ink now and for ever, and that is your duty. Do not sap with the DEVIL -the West> True, we can deal with them but only as sovereign equals and cleverly too, always bearing in mind that the West are like a giant snake one has to be careful about..

  8. I have never read something so reviling and upsetting. To glamourize Ian Smith in this fashion is a mockery of all those he killed for daring to fight for liberation and democracy during his tenure as a rebel Prime Minister from 1965 to 1977.
