Motor Action FC founder and businessman, Eric Rosen has died.
He was 69. Rosen died early this morning at the Borrowdale Trauma Centre in Harare where he was being treated after suffering a heart attack.
According to his widow, Elizabeth, who is also an ardent football fan and Motor Action’s number one supporter, Rosen’s death was sudden.
Rosen’s son, Sydney said his father was passionate about football and a successful businessman who will be sadly missed by the family, the community and the country.
Rosen owned Motor Action Spares and Distributors and a football club named after his business.
The club, affectionately known as the Mighty Bulls, came to be in 1999 when Rosen bought the Blackpool franchise.
The Mighty Bulls went on to win the Premier Soccer League (PSL) title in 2010 and represented Zimbabwe in the CAF Champions League in 2011.
In 2012, Motor Action were Zimbabwe’s representatives in the CAF Confederations Cup after losing in the Mbada Diamonds Cup to the then champions, Dynamos.
The team produced stars such as 2006 Soccer Star of the Year, Clement Matawu, Quincy Antipas and Allan Gahadzikwa, among others.
Rosen is survived by wife, Elizaneth, three children and four grandsons. Mourners are gathered at his home, number 64, Glen Lorne Drive, Glen Lorne in Harare.
Meanwhile, the Sports and Recreational Commission (SRC) has expressed shock at Rosen’s untimely death.State Media
