WATCH: Temba Mliswa And Mnangagwa’s Advisor Mutsvangwa Fight In Public

Ray Nkosi | Special Advisor To President Emmerson Mnangagwa Chris Mutsvangwa and politician Temba Mliswa have fallen out.

Mutsvangwa is elbowing Mliswa out of the Norton constituency he previously held, with the young MP not taking the new challenge lying down. Mliswa for instance alleges that Mutsvangwa’s position as Presidential advisor is unconstitutional and has taken to social media to attack Mustvangwa.

Mutsvangwa launched his Norton bid today and clashed publicly with Mliswa.

The state media reports that a government taskforce that visited Chegutu and Norton this Saturday to assess the cholera situation has agreed that without addressing the infrastructure challenges, the country will continue to record medieval diseases like cholera and typhoid.

The taskforce comprising Mutsvangwa, Health and Child Care Minister Dr David Parirenyatwa, Mashonaland West Minister of State Webster Shamu, Chegutu West legislator Dexter Nduna and Chegutu Mayor Leo Gwanzura, among others, visited the epicentre of the cholera outbreak in Chegutu and assessed the water reticulation network before addressing residents at Chegutu Hall.

The team also visited Chinengundu Polyclinic where a temporary cholera treatment centre has been set up.

Four people have succumbed to cholera and 94 suspected cases recorded in Chegutu since the 19th of January when the disease re-emerged.

During the 2008 to 2009 cholera outbreak, Chegutu recorded the highest number of deaths yet the town has adequate water supplies from the source to serve the population of about 50 000 people.

From Chegutu, the team proceeded to Norton where they also toured the cholera treatment centre at Katanga Clinic.

Addressing Norton residents who had gathered at Katanga Clinic, Mutsvangwa said the President Emmerson Mnangagwa administration is prioritising infrastructure development because without addressing the underlying causes, Zimbabwe will continue to experience outbreaks of cholera, sentiments also echoed by Chegutu West legislator, Nduna.

Dr Parirenyatwa and Norton Town Council Director of Health Services, Dr Tungamirai Mhuka assured the residents that no confirmed cholera cases have been recorded in Norton.

Shamu told the residents not to politicise cholera as the disease knows no boundaries.

However, the Norton meeting was almost disrupted by Norton legislator, Themba Mliswa who arrived midway and started demanding that as Member of Parliament for the area, he must be included on the programme.

The misunderstanding was only resolved after the police intervened.

The cholera situation appears to be under control as no new suspected cases were recorded since Friday.

Both the Chegutu and Norton cholera treatment centres are empty and the health personnel manning the centres confirmed that there are no new suspected cases.

No Cash For Mnangagwa Until He Settles Debts

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has said Zimbabwe can only expect a financial bailout to stabilize its troubled economy only after clearing arrears to international lenders.

Zimbabwe’s economy faces severe challenges, the IMF said, but noted it stood ready to support the southern African nation.

“The IMF stands ready to support the authorities and their efforts to address these challenges. But as we noted, in addition to a strong coherent reform program, a concerted international effort will be required to revive and reintegrate the Zimbabwean economy.

Follow Allnetafrica.com on Facebook and twitter here for updates.

“An IMF financial arrangement, for example, would only be possible after progress in resolving Zimbabwe’s arrears to the other International Financial Institutions (IFIs) and to the other creditors,” the IMF said.

Zimbabwe, which owes arrears of around $1.8 billion to the World Bank and the African Development Bank, has not been able to borrow from international lenders since 1999, when it started defaulting on its debt.

“There has to be an arrears clearance process and a clear strategy for clearing those arrears with other creditors and that also has to be factored in to their ability, their sustainability over time.

“Restoring growth will require concerted efforts to tackle the fiscal deficit including through rationalizing and better targeting the expense of agricultural support programs. These efforts should be complemented by structural reforms to strengthen the role of the private sector by improving the business climate and reducing policy uncertainty,” the IMF added.

Zimbabwe is desperate for fresh capital injection to turnaround an economy battered by years of economic mismanagement under former President Robert Mugabe.

Recently, President Emmerson Mnangagwa was in Davos, Switzerland where he met the towering figures in the global economy, amongst them the IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde.-allnetafrica

All You Need To Know About The New “G40” Political Party

#2018Resistance welcomes New Patriotic Front
by Hon. Patrick Zhuwao
on 3rd February 2018

The #2018Resistance welcomes the new political kid on the block, the New Patriotic Front
(NPF). As the NPF becomes the newest member of the ranks of pro-democracy formations in Zimbabwe, a number of questions are being raised.

Hon. Patrick Zhuwao

Is it necessary to have another new political party? Is the NPF not an avenue to bring back President Robert Mugabe? Is the NPF not a surrogate of ZANU PF created to split the opposition votes? The traditional opposition is worried about NPF.

To answer the first question, the NPF’s Consultation Points Document provides a window
into the reasons for the creation of the NPF as it states, in the first sentence on page two, that:
“For Zimbabwe’s sake, it is a patriotic duty and generational responsibility to lawfully and
democratically reverse the bloody military coup of 15th November 2017, as soon as possible
and in the context of the elections that are constitutionally due between July and August this
year”. This seminal founding sentence encapsulates the beneficiary, obligations, objective,
means, timescale and rationale for establishing the NPF.

The beneficiary of the establishment of NPF is stated as being “for the sake of Zimbabwe”.
NPF is imposing upon itself the obligation of “patriotic duty and generational responsibility”
in order to achieve the objective of “reversing the bloody coup of 15th November 2017”. The
means for the reversal must be “lawful and democratic”. The timescale and rationale are that
this must be done “as soon as possible and in the context of the elections that are
constitutionally due between July and August this year”; the elections must be held between
23rd July and 22nd August 2018 in terms of Section 158, as read with Section 143 of the
Constitution of Zimbabwe.

The second question that is on the opposition’s minds is whether the NPF is not an avenue to
bring back President Robert Mugabe? It is important to acknowledge that the NPF’s objective
of reversing the bloody coup of 15 November 2017 is being feared and misinterpreted to
suggest the return of President Mugabe as Head of State and Government. It would definitely
be grossly unfair to President Mugabe to seek to burden and encumber him again with
responsibilities for the state given his contribution to Zimbabwe thus far. His family deserve
to also enjoy his company and presence. Apart from which, the return of President Mugabe is
definitely not the intent of the NPF as stated in key action point III of Section 3 of the
Consultation Points Document, on page seven, which calls for the “need for a civilian
transitional authority to prepare for free, fair and credible elections”.

Lastly, is the NPF not a surrogate of ZANU PF created to split the opposition votes? ZANU
PF is dead. It is now an immutable fact that ZANU PF was murdered during the bloody coup
of 15th November 2017. The stockholder mentality of the coup plotters and terrorist junta is
to take ZANU PF as “chinhu chedu” (our thing) at the exclusion of the people. This
exclusionary conceptualisation of being the stockholders of ZANU PF whilst and every other
member is regarded as being a mere stakeholder was articulated by Chiwenga in an interview
during the 2017 Independence celebrations.

Former ZANU PF members have to come to terms with being dumped; takarambwa (we
were ditched). There are those of us who were told in no uncertain terms that we are not
wanted in ZANU PF and divorce papers were served on us. Some of us received the divorce
token of violence, torture and a rain of bullets. Gupuro ranga riri bara (the divorce token was
a bullet). Others are still hopefully hanging in there in the manner that a battered and abused
spouse suffers continued abuse for the sake of the children. Bvumai kuti zvapera atenzi.
Recognize that ZANU PF is dead. What is left now is the ghost of a former liberation
movement.

Furthermore, it is important to note that liberation movements such as UNIP of Zambia, MCP
of Malawi and KANU of Kenya have not been able to survive the departure of their founding
fathers. In the case of ZANU PF, the violent and humiliating ouster of President Mugabe
makes it even worse as explained to one Vera, whose job description at ZANU PF
Headquarters includes consulting spirit mediums and the occult. The poor lady is currently
grappling with how she can inform Mnangagwa that, on her latest visit to the spirit medium,
he was given only five months to go.

Opposition political formations, including thought processes, paradigms and inclinations
opposed to ZANU PF, must come to terms with the fact that NPF is not an enemy but an
extremely useful ally. An ally that knows how to exorcise the troublesome ghost of the dead
ZANU PF. Pro-democracy formations therefore have an obligation to work with the NPF to
ensure that the coup conspirators and terrorist junta are stopped from the further militarisation
of constitutional governance.

The NPF is committed to the reversal of the bloody coup of 15th November 2017 and
subscribes to the demilitarisation of civilian processes in Zimbabwe. NPF has a definite and
credible plan on how this can be achieved. Although NPF views President Mugabe as the
Mentor par excellence, it acknowledges that he has been retired, albeit forcefully, and should
not be burdened and encumbered again. The NPF knows fully well that ZANU PF is dead.
Mnangagwa and Chiwenga are holding onto the decaying corpse of a deceased liberation
movement. NPF has the knowledge and capacity to deliver the final nail in the coffin for
ZANU PF.

Mugabe Backs Mujuru For President, All Gushungo’s Supporters Will Now Go With Her

The political dynamics playing out in Zimbabwe took another intriguing twist on Tuesday when ex-president Robert Mugabe not only smoked a peace pipe with his former deputy, Joice Mujuru, but also promised to back her presidential bid.

Mugabe met Mujuru at his ‘‘Blue Roof’’ mansion in the leafy suburb of Borrowdale, Harare, on Tuesday for the first time since they broke ranks in December 2014.

It was also the first time Mugabe has met an opposition party leader since the expiry of the unity government in June 2013 in which Zanu PF shared power with two MDC formations led by former prime minister Morgan Tsvangirai and Arthur Mutambara.

Insiders in Mujuru’s party — the National People’s Party (NPP) — told the Daily News yesterday that Mugabe, who initiated the meeting, offered his unqualified support to his former deputy in the forthcoming elections, where Zanu PF leader Emmerson Mnangagwa will be seeking his first full mandate as head of State and government.

Mnangagwa ascended to the throne through a soft military coup of November 14 that led to the forced resignation of his predecessor who had been isolated from his allies in the Generation 40 (G40) faction of Zanu PF.

NPP insiders said the meeting sent a clear message to Mugabe’s die-hard supporters that the 93-year-old ex-guerrilla leader was not for the “new dispensation” and was throwing his weight behind Mujuru.

They said Mugabe also sent a pointed but subtle message to his supporters to shift their allegiance to Mujuru, whose rivalry with Mnangagwa could be traced as far back as the 1990s when her husband Solomon Mujuru and Mnangagwa competed for Mugabe’s ear until his passing in a suspicious inferno in August 2011.

During the meeting, NPP insiders claimed the toppled president apologised for unfairly dismissing Mujuru in 2014, and blamed Mnangagwa for misleading him into believing that Mujuru wanted to topple him when in fact he was pursuing his own political agenda.

“They met and it was at Mugabe’s invitation. One of the reasons was to say sorry for everything that happened to her and that he had acted on incorrect briefings from Mnangagwa,” an NPP national executive member said.

The NPP official said Mujuru told Mugabe that despite all that she has gone through, she harboured no hard feelings towards him.

While Mujuru’s spokesperson Gift Nyandoro was not keen to disclose details of their meeting to the media, NPP’s deputy national organising secretary Paddington Japajapa told the Daily News that Mugabe had pledged his full support for Mujuru’s presidential campaign.

“The meeting took place at Mugabe’s residence so it is all systems go. G40 members are coming on board; former first lady Grace Mugabe loves the idea, and so is Saviour Kasukuwere and others who are also ready to help the Mujuru campaign financially,” Japajapa said.

“We do not care who they are and where they are coming from as long as they bring in votes — that is what we are excited about as a party. Let us see how it pans out but this is a real game-changer — I tell you.”

Although Mujuru was not immediately available for comment, she confirmed meeting Mugabe to Voice of America (VOA).

“I spoke to him on Tuesday. We discussed how he was lied to when they accused me,” she said.

“He is at his home; he is not happy with what happened to him which he said is not constitutional. He is surprised that the gun that we always knew as being led by politics is the one leading, why?” Mujuru told VOA.

“I also spoke to Grace, who also said she was misinformed by people who had realised that I was about to take over as president.”

“I was happy when he called me and I grabbed the opportunity,” she said.

She also claimed Mugabe’s wife, Grace, admitted during their meeting that she plotted her ouster from Zanu PF and government over petty gossip.

Mujuru said Grace now regrets having been ill-advised.

Mujuru revealed when she was ousted from Zanu PF, it had been alleged that her plan was to seize power and “reform Zanu PF the Magufuli way and we had already started so that is what they did not want,” she said.

Nicknamed “the Bulldozer” for his strict leadership style, Tanzanian president John Magufuli has won praise for his tough anti-corruption fight.

Magufuli’s opponents, however, accuse him of cracking down on dissent and limiting democratic space.

He has denied the allegations, saying he was not a dictator.

The drive to root out corruption in Tanzania has felled ministers, the head of government’s anti-graft body, the tax chief and thousands of civil servants.

Ironically, Mujuru was assaulted by suspected Zanu PF youths as she met her supporters in the capital on Thursday, less than 48 hours after her meeting with Mugabe.

The rumour mill has gone into overdrive, claiming Zanu PF was already running scared and that the attack was meant to intimidate Mujuru who has extended an olive branch to members of the G40 faction which was targeted by the military operation code-named Operation Restore Legacy.

One of the think-tanks in the G40 faction took to Twitter yesterday to hint that Mujuru and Mugabe’s meeting was “a game changer.”

“Joice Mujuru attacked by #coup soldiers after her game changing meeting with president Mugabe,” Jonathan Moyo, who is currently in self-imposed exile, tweeted yesterday.

United Kingdom-based political analyst Alex Magaisa described the development as “intriguing given the political context.”

“He was brutal when he sacked her four years ago and this would have been their first meeting since then – united in the cold. Could this signal a renewed alliance between Joice and the man she calls ‘father’?” Magaisa wrote on his Twitter account.

Magaisa noted that the alliance, if it materialises, could spell doom for Mnangagwa’s presidential bid.

He said Mugabe still commands a significant following in the country hence the alliance could work in Mujuru’s favour.

“For all his faults, and despite the fake cheers at rallies, Mugabe surely had people who idolised him? In 1980, Muzorewa’s supporters went underground but he had managed 220 000 votes at the election. Could there be Mugabe supporters out there who will back whoever he backs?

“If so, this front could prove to be a headache for Mnangagwa and his team. But would Mujuru forgive her treatment in 2014 at the hands of Mugabe’s wife, Grace and her cabal? Then again, there are no permanent friends or enemies in politics.

“This election could prove to be more fascinating and interesting than the damp squib it was threatening to be. It could turn out to be Zanu A v Zanu B v MDC United v Others!”

Mugabe expelled Mujuru from Zanu PF and government in December 2014 on untested allegations of plotting to unseat him.

Mujuru (62) had deputised Mugabe for 10 years, having joined his government at independence in 1980 as the youngest Cabinet minister.

After several months of pondering about her future, Mujuru caused a major political ripple when she emerged from her shell in March 2016 to head the Zimbabwe People First (ZPF).

She dumped ZPF months later after it got enmeshed in power struggles and formed NPP, whose campaign for the forthcoming poll is based on the promise to revive the economy and repair strained relations with the West.

Mujuru will stand at the polls as NPP’s presidential candidate.

It, however, still remains to be seen if the meeting of minds between them could derail a resurgent Mnangagwa whose political stock is rising daily on the back of his strong push to revive the country’s economy and reintegrate Zimbabwe among the community of nations.- Daily News

Mnangagwa’s Shoddy War History, And Why Mugabe Should Be Given The Mic | OPINION

Kerina Mujati| Mai Mujuru (Joice Mujuru) in her interview told us that Emmerson Mnangagwa never fought in any battle during the liberation struggle, unlike the many lies of him told by his bootlickers that he was in the Crocodile Gang.

Mai Mujuru went on to tell us that indeed President Mugabe is not a free man as claimed by ED. Jonathan Moyo has told the world the same, yet yesterday I was reading headlines “Mujuru contradicts Moyo’s claims on Mugabe’s safety”. This is one of the many malicious and desperate propaganda by those media houses benefitting from this Junta administration.

Mai Mujuru and Jonathan Moyo are on the same page, President Mugabe is not a freeman. Why try to spin it as if Mugabe has travelled on a Mars expedition? Just bring the people’s President out and allow him to speak to his people. 21 February is a few weeks away. Mai Mujuru could not tell the world lies….naizvozvo Junta give President Mugabe his freedom and Mic tinzwe kuti vanotii? #cd3sistermwenewazvo#

Ruvheneko Harare East Saga | Fresh Details

Radio personality Ruvheneko Parirenyatwa yesterday said she was not vying for the Harare East parliamentary seat on the National People’s Party ticket in the forthcoming harmonised elections.

NPP is led by former Vice President Joice Mujuru, who was expelled from Zanu-PF for plotting to oust former President Robert Mugabe unconstitutionally.
Ruvheneko is the daughter of Zanu-PF Politburo member and Health and Child Care Minister Dr David Parirenyatwa. She carved a name for herself in broadcasting when she joined ZiFM Stereo.
Ruvheneko has since joined Zimpapers as radio division projects manager.

In an interview yesterday, Ruvheneko denied that she was running for any political office.
“I have come across a campaign poster on social media which falsely alleges that I am running for the position of Member of Parliament for the Harare East constituency under the National People’s Party,” she said.

“It is fake news. I categorically state that I do not work with or for the NPP and that I am not running for any political seat in the 2018 election.
“I have spoken to the NPP’s secretary general, Mr Gift Nyandoro, who reassured me that the hoax did not originate with them.

‘‘If and when I am running for public office, it will not be a debate about whether or not it is true because I will announce my candidacy clearly through my own and other official channels. ‘Sadly, we may never know who did this, but I have my suspicions.

“Either way, it is untrue and no one should continue to spread this lie.”
Ruvheneko said she was shocked at the rate at which the fake news was spreading on social media.

“I appreciate sincerely those who were seeking clarity because it means they ‘know better’ but were just double-checking,” she said.

“The main concern seemed not to be that I am running for a political office but that I am supposedly running under the NPP while others were excited by the heat this might have brought to the already explosive Harare East seat.

“The only ambition I have for Harare East Constituency this year, as a journalist, is a debate on our ‘Zimbabwe Election Debate Series’ with all of its candidates after the Nomination Court announcement.” Herald

Mugabe Not Coming Back, Zhuwao Launches Agenda For Change

The #2018Resistance welcomes the new political kid on the block, the New Patriotic Front

The beneficiary of the establishment of NPF is stated as being “for the sake of Zimbabwe”.

opposed to ZANU PF, must come to terms with the fact that NPF is not an enemy but an
extremely useful ally.

Mnangagwa and Chiwenga are holding onto the decaying corpse of a deceased liberation
movement. NPF has the knowledge and capacity to deliver the final nail in the coffin for
ZANU PF.

27 Yr Old Weds Granny

Fifty seven year old popular Sakubva socialite, Sophie Masikuka, popularly known as Mbuya Sauti, pulled a shocker over the weekend when she wedded her 29-year old man – disclosing that she has a spirit of a mermaid that attracts young men.

The popular granny, who once grabbed the headlines for running an infamous brothel in the same suburb, tied the knot with the love of her life – Wellington Mabhiza – in a two-lagged colourful ceremony held at two different places in the suburb’s Chineta location on Saturday.

Business was brought to a halt as scores of people jostled to catch a glimpse of the proceedings.

Mbuya Sauti, who was clad in beautiful white apparel, passionately kissed the “apple of her eye” Mabhiza who was visibly charmed by the former’s childish blush and candid face. The chemistry was there for all to see.

It was a special day for the couple, despite it being unique and strange in so many ways.

Strange, indeed, as there was no marriage officer or cleric to solemnise the wedding. Despite all this, the controversial granny was the happiest of them all. She was on cloud nine and in her own words she said it was a union made by the gods.

The Weekender learnt that Mabhiza was once married. He divorced his wife before settling for the seemingly aged Mbuya Sauti.

The duo met about two years ago when Mabhiza was a tenant at one of Mbuya Sauti’s houses in Chineta. When The Weekender visited her on Monday, she was confident that the marriage would work, despite her having reached menopause. Menopause is the absence of menstrual periods for 12 months.

It is the time in a woman’s life when the function of the ovaries ceases and it means, in this case, Mbuya Sauti would no longer be able to bear children.

“Our hearts, our spirits lured each other to be in a relationship like this. I have a spirit of a mermaid that attracts younger men,” said Mbuya Sauti. She revealed that she once dated a 35-year old man before she settled for Mabhiza.

“I love him and I know he loves me. That explains why people gathered to see us exchanging vows. The wedding went on well. There was no need for us to have a marriage officer because we felt it was not necessary.

“We are now living under the same roof although we have not yet started having sex. We need to work on something before we do that,” she said.

She paid tribute to several people, who came aboard with some assistance, notably former Mutare City councilor Cecelia Gambe. Mbuya Sauti called Mabhiza on his mobile phone after our news crew had requested to see him but he said he was busy.

“I want to buy him a car. I want to make him happy. He is a hard worker. I told his mother that he is free to have a baby with another woman since I cannot bear a child with him,” she added. – Manicapost

Ndebele King Drama Thickens as SA Based King Lobengula Declines Offer to Be King

Prince Bulelani Lobengula Khumalo

By Paul Nyathi| With just a month left before the high profile and highly publicised coronation of Prince Bulelani Lobengula Khumalo as King of the Ndebele people, the South African had declined to take the offer as King.

In a letter made available to ZimEye.com and copied here, Bulelani said that he has been declining the offer for the last three years but leaders of the Royal Khumalo Family in Zimbabwe keep insisting on him to take the offer.

The letter which has attracted a wide reaction from the people in Matabeleland has been confirmed as authentic by some sectors of the Ndebele community while another claim it to be a fake publication by people who are against his coronation.

ZimEye.com is making frantic efforts to get the correct side of the matter. Some members of the Khumalo family have refused to give ZimEye.com Prince Bulelani Lobengula Khumalo’s contact numbers to get his confirmed position on the matter.

Full letter supposedly written by Bulelani Lobengula Khumalo reads as follows:

“I hereby write to the generality of Mthwakazi, and the world at large, regarding a simmering issue in Zimbabwe. I am aware that the issues I am going to discuss here are important to the people of my forefathers, and I shall be as honest as possible. To those who will be disturbed by my discussion, I do sincerely apologise in advance.
I was born in South Africa, and for all practical purposes, that is the country I call home. I am aware that my forefathers established a successful nation called Mthwakazi, and it is today part of present day Zimbabwe. I am aware that the people of my forefathers have a programme to resuscitate their nationhood, in the way they think is best. I have been approached many times by some of the leaders to stand in as their King. These leaders have traced my blood and have found out that I am born of royal blood. Their efforts are noble. However, in my sincere and honest opinion, I can NOT lead a people I was not raised among. I can not pretend to stand up for the people in Mthwakazi and their interests, when I have no attachment to those interests. I therefore hereby write to apologise to the leaders who approached me on the matter, and to Mthwakazi as a whole. I put it here and now, that I can Not be a Ndebele King.
The coronation ceremony is being organised for 03 March 2018, and I continue telling the leadership from Zimbabwe that I am not interested in this matter, and I am not the best person to represent these people, in whatever form. This is why I did not turn up in September 2017, when they were releasing my name to the public. Unfortunately, among the organisers, there is a group that want this done no matter what. I can not lie to the people. I can not put false hope in the Ndebele people in Zimbabwe. I am aware that there are more able persons and better interested individuals within the Ndebele community than I am. Why then don’t this leadership focus on those people, with the ability and interest at heart. I have taken to publishing my position, because I have said this in private meetings and quarters for more than three years now, and this leadership does not take heed. I shall not discuss the possibility of their private interests here, however, I want the people in the land of my forefathers to know that I am not the messiah they may hope for, and may have been told is coming. I implore them to search among themselves for a King who shall represent their interests fully.
Without disrespecting anyone, I put the matter to rest.
Yours Sincerely
Bulelani Collins Lobhengula Khumalo

ARE THEY TELLING THE TRUTH?- ZANU PF Promises To Destroy ZBC’s Monopoly

Simon Khaya Moyo

ACTING Minister of Information, Media and Broadcasting Services Ambassador Simon Khaya Moyo has said Government is working on introducing new television players in a bid to break the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation’s monopoly.

ZBC has monopolised the television broadcasting industry for decades. Addressing delegates at the official launch of the support to the media on governance and electoral matters in Zimbabwe programme in Harare on Thursday, Ambassador Khaya Moyo said opening up the broadcasting sector was an important step in a democracy. He said media freedom, access to information and free expression were guaranteed by the Constitution.

“The issue of free, fair and credible elections is what every Zimbabwean should aim for,” said Ambassador Khaya Moyo.

“Currently, Government through the Ministry of Information, Media and Broadcasting Services is spearheading the digital broadcasting migration programme which slowly, but surely on account of limited resources, is gaining traction. Very soon we shall be witnessing real positive change in breaking ZBC monopoly over our airwaves as new television players come on board.

“And even before then, as soon as Government acquires set-top boxes, we should begin to roll out digital television services in areas that have proximity to digitalised transmitter sites.” The launch saw the European Union and Norway releasing about $1 million towards supporting and capacitating the media in the country.

Ambassador Khaya Moyo said Government would support the media to ensure they did their work without hindrance. “The hallmark of thriving democracies is the presence of an informed citizenry which participates in the national discourse through free expression,” he said.

“The media, a free media for that matter, is a key element of democracy and development. There are other challenges that are of concern to the media industry such as the safety of journalists, political polarisation, partisan journalism, publishing falsehoods and decline in training standards, gender discrimination and reports of rampant corruption in the sector, all of which deserve our attention.”

The European Union ambassador to Zimbabwe Mr Philippe van Damme urged the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation to give equal access to all political parties in the country. He said this should be synonymous with the events of November 18, which signified a new era of openness, tolerance and mutual respect as envisaged by President Mnangagwa. – state media

“Shut Up!” Ndoro Tells Orlando Pirates

Tendai Ndoro
By Terrence Mawawa| Former Buccaneers striker Tendai Ndoro says he is unfazed by Orlando Pirates’ protest at his inclusion in Ajax Capetown’ s 3-0 victory over the Soweto Giants in the ABSA Premiership.

Ndoro joined Ajax Capetown this season.

Pirates were protesting against the decision taken by the PSL’s Dispute Resolution Chamber to allow him to play for the Urban Warriors, despite a FIFA rule which states one cannot play for more than three clubs in one season.

Ndoro told the SowetanLIVE that he was not worried about an appeal launched by the PSL against their
own DRC’s decision, nor Pirates’ protest against the match in mid-week.

“I am happy to play football and that’s why I am here at Ajax. Football is now being played on the (boardroom) table rather
than on the field,” he said.

“We will see what comes out but I guess I am free. If I wasn’t then I couldn’t have played. I don’t want to talk too
much about the rules except to say I’m happy I’m playing.

“I didn’t know it was under protest but even if I did I wouldn’t get worried. They didn’t tell me,” said Ndoro.

SABC Editor Speaks To Jonathan Moyo, Interview | FULL TEXT

The SABC’s Foreign Editor Sophie Mokoena speaks to Jonathan Moyo, the former Higher Education minister under former president Robert Mugabe. Moyo fled the country during the military-backed takeover by now President Emmerson Mnangagwa in November 2017.

Moyo has re-iterated his views that the new administration is the product of a coup and that Sadc and the African Union erred in recognising it.

Q: What happened in Zimbabwe?

A: The so-called succession dispute between the (Mnangagwa) faction which called itself Lacoste and the so-called G40 that we were associated with was a power grab related to factional fights within Zanu-PF.

It had nothing to do with the public interest; it had nothing to do with national interest, nothing to do with territorial integrity of Zimbabwe.
It was an unprecedented act by the military in Zimbabwe that had never been seen before in the region to descend down to the level of squabbles in a political party.

Q: Before this happened, there was a constant attack on Mnangagwa and those perceived to be Lacoste and you were classified as a member of the G40. That was provocation if you listen to what the first lady was saying at rallies.

A: Are we being told that if there is a spirited political campaign in a political party, and in this case the ruling party, and it is being said at meetings, rallies where there is robust debate and tough things are said about political leaders, that in the new Sadc and new AU, when that happens, it’s a recipe for a coup, it’s a recipe for a military coup? Is that what we are being told?

There was an equivalent spirited debate taking place in the ANC here in places such as Kwa-Zulu Natal and many others were strong ideological views to do with state capture, the state of the economy, corruption accusations that even the president of South Africa faced where some quite robust debate took place , let alone the deputy president.

Are we being told that when that happens, then the army should use force and unleash tanks, in order to take a side?

The Zimbabwe precedent is a dangerous one, it’s uncivilised. It is unbelievable that in 2017 you can get an army descending unprofessionally, unconstitutionally to the level where a permanent secretary in the ministry of Information believes that he has been insulted at a political rally, therefore because he is good buddies with the head of the army, they are going to use that to justify the deployment of an army in the whole country.

The country was under military siege from the 15th of November to the 18th of December because of that.

What is really of concern to the members of the former Zanu-PF as it was before is that ED, General Chiwenga (Constantino), and all these people in the military cabal associated with the bloody coup are the very same people who orchestrated the downfall of the-then vice president Joice Mujuru

Q: But the first lady herself constantly attacked Emmerson Mnangagwa who was vice president.

A: First of all, I want to repeat the fact that even if what you are saying were true, which of course is not true, but assuming that it is, it cannot justify a military coup.

This is the most important point than the one you are making.

We cannot accept a situation where we start taking a position that the end justifies the means so as long as we want to grab power.

You start to find a pretext to say did you not see the humiliation of a particular leader by the first lady.

Let us go to the facts. The fact of the matter is that Grace Mugabe as the first lady and the president went through unbelievable humiliation, unbelievable humiliation.

The people who are raising this either suffer form selective memory or were part of the coup.

Q: Are you corrupt?

A: No. In fact, that is laughable. Seriously laughable. Firstly, this is coming from the most corrupt politicians and public officials in the history of our country.
They cannot account for the assets that they have.

The richest individual in Zimbabwe is … Mnangagwa. The one person responsible for setting up Zanu-PF companies when he was secretary for finance is Emmerson Mnangagwa.

There is not a single cent that comes out of those companies that includes a bank and investments in the region in countries like Namibia and South Africa.

The person who led the plunder of resources even in foreign countries such as DRC leading to the United Nations investigating him and coming up with a report that is still there is…. Mnangagwa along with the military cabal of General Chiwenga and SB Moyo.

The person who brought the Chinese to plunder diamonds in Chiadzwa to a point where we have at the very least over a period from 2007 to 2014 some $12 billion to $15 billion worth of diamonds revenue that cannot be accounted for that went into the pockets of individuals.

These people have staged this coup not only for the sake of power grab, but to cover up for their corruption. That command agriculture was nothing but a looting scheme.

Q: But some are saying that programme was aimed at assisting farmers and that you are only saying that to cover up for your own corruption.

A: What is our own corruption? In my case they say for example that I took $430 000 from Zimdef when they know very well that of all the money in question, which does not even amount to that, about $200 000 went to the ministry’s participation in Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZTIF) in 2016 and we won.

We became the first ministry to win the top prize since its establishment during the Rhodesia era.

The remainder of that money supported approved Zanu-PF programmes, the other $100 000 went to support a programme designed to bring together government departments, schools and traditional leaders to support science education in Tsholotsho, one of the marginalised districts in the country and victim of Gukurahundi atrocities committed by the same cabal. Not a single cent came to me.

Q: But people say you were dispensing patronage

A: When does it become patronage? The fact of the matter is that I was a minister with discretion to decide how to use the funds and there were procedures for using the funds.

Q: Is the problem perhaps how Zanu-PF has conducted itself using State resources earmarked for all Zimbabweans to sustain itself. The party abusing State resources?

A: I think there are serious questions like that that need to be answered …

Q: It was under Mugabe when it was happening

A: It was under …. Mnangagwa, let us not play this simple game of saying it was under president Mugabe and now we have a different government, different from Mugabe’s government when in fact the instigators and main players over the 37-year period are these especially (Emmerson) Mnangagwa.

Mnangagwa cannot convince the world that he is different from Mugabe. It is going to be the worst act of treachery, the worst that the region has ever seen.

Q: But he is changing policies?

A: No, he has not changed policies, he has slogans and anecdotes that are cynical, that are desired to placate the western world, to make it appear that he is very different.

There is no economic policies, his minister of Finance, is also the minister of Economic Development, there is no economic development policy as we speak right now that is different from the one which was in place in 2013 that Zanu-PF adopted.

Their 100 days so-called is driven by anecdotes and slogans. It is not driven by any coherent underlying policy or message with a new fundamental.

Is he really trying to tell the world that there is something he wanted to do in 37 years but he could not do because he was stopped by Mugabe from doing that and he has to get rid of president Mugabe in order to do that?

Is that what Emmerson Mnangagwa wants to say? Is Emmerson Mnangagwa telling the world that he had nothing to do with Gukurahundi atrocities?

Q: But he has reached out those who were affected.

A: First of all it’s a lie, he has not done that, I was in the leadership with him in making the new Zimbabwean Constitution adopted in 2013. Emmerson Mnangagwa and Patrick Chinamasa who were the frontline voice of Zanu-PF during that process, fought very hard to ensure that the national peace and reconciliation process that is in the Constitution does not have the “truth.”

First of all they did not want it in Zanu-PF. Emmerson Mnangagwa and Patrick Chinamasa led the opposition of peace and reconciliation commission.

They did not want it, they came to the politburo, we had long contestations nights, we debated those issues.

Emmerson Mnangagwa did not want that commission at all, I want to place this on record, that’s number one. Number 2, as a result of that, we ended up with a weakened down commission that did not include the truth.

The proposal was to have a truth and reconciliation commission, you cannot have peace and reconciliation when you had atrocities like Gukurahundi.

We must have truth telling, Emmerson Mnangagwa and Patrick Chinamasa succeed in removing the truth component and got Zanu-PF to accept the current structure in the constitution of a peace and reconciliation only on grounds that it did not include truth.

This is very important. He can’t come today and say I had done this when recent history tells a different story. Much more telling is when the former vice president `Phelekezela Mphoko was spearheading the bill which became law recently.

It was spearheaded in Parliament not by Emmerson Mnangagwa but by Phelekezela Mphoko. Emmerson Mnangagwa and his Lacoste members of Parliament gave Mphoko a torrid time, they did not want it . They wanted to kill it and we ended up with a watered down bill because of the opposition that it faced from Mnangagwa and Lacoste members of Parliament that made it clear that they did not support it ,they did not hide it.

They did not think there would be a coup in Zimbabwe on the 15th of November, history would have it.

It has created this opportunity for Mnangagwa, which he is not able to take, because he came to power via the gun and found on president Mugabe’s desk a bill already passed, waiting just to be signed and he has signed it opportunistically after fighting this. And as he signs it, five years has gone for the National Peace and Reconciliation Commission.

It’s a commission with only 10 years from August 2013. He can’t associate with it, it is not going to deliver what it was meant least not because it is now driven by the number one perpetrator of atrocities.

Q: There are allegations that you are a foreign agent. How far true is this? Are you working for foreign governments to destabilise Zimbabwe?

A: This is a startling allegation coming from people who have used this way back even before independence.

When it comes to people like Mnangagwa and general Chiwenga in particular, if you are educated and not available to them, not working for them, you are by definition a spy, you are a foreign agent because as far as they are concerned, patriotic Zanu-PF members support them and you work for them. If you are not, you must be an agent, working for the so called enemy.

In the world of espionage, spies, VPs and generals who sit in Joc (Joint Operations Command) and know what is being planned; these are the people who sell information. They used to say that to young people joining the liberation struggle for training coming wearing a T-shirt with a number and say that, ‘aaah, it’s your spy number.’

But you must be well positioned to be a spy so you can make a deference..

Q: Are you willing to go back to Zimbabwe?

A: The issue is not about us reconciling with coup makers. It’s about returning the country to constitutional order, the country must return to civilian rule.

Q: But how does that happen under the circumstances given that the region and the continent have accepted him and some people are moving forward?

A: A lot of people said that about Rwanda, that there was a stable government and that people had moved on, but look carefully back and take some lessons. The fact that …

Q: Are we saying there is likely to be internal conflict in Zimbabwe?

A: If the fundamental issues around the coup are not resolved, there is no doubt about that. There is a lot of bottled up tension.

Q: Is that perhaps a threat and are you not involved in mobilising people?

A: No, but I mean look; does anyone really rethink in 2017 you can put tanks in the streets, brutalise people in the way they did and torture members of State organs responsible for security in the president’s department, the police and the army and get away with it?

Q: But the new government has warned against any retaliation.

A: But he says one thing during the day and something completely happens during the night. Everyone now knows there are serious tensions between him and the military cabal led by general Chiwenga, very serious tensions.

He told the AU that president Mugabe is safe and secure and got applauded but that is not true.

He also said he is working hard to preserve his legacy when he is doing the opposite. They are harassing the president’s family on a daily basis.

Q: The family is allegedly involved in corruption. Are they not supposed to account for that?

A: He says he is preserving his legacy and at the same time says his family is involved in corruption. What judicial process has come up with this information.

People are using political and media platforms to harass the president.

When you make conclusions outside judicial processes, you are harassing the president and his family.

That is what harassment is. You are engaging in dirty politics, you want to silence them, and you are instilling fear.

If there is a case, a civilised constitutional government follows the judicial process; it does not follow rallies, innuendos. And Mnangagwa has been going to these countries because he is panicking.

He knows more than many people know about his legitimacy, so he wants to convince these countries that I am legitimate. In the process, he is telling a lot of false stories which humiliate the president.

When he left Namibia he alleged that when he had a phone call with him he didn’t remember that he had fired him. Which is preposterous?

What he didn’t understand was that while he was holed up somewhere wherever he was, when the president made that phone call, he was not making it alone.

The African Union and Sadc should not base their decisions on what the coup makers say about what the people of Zimbabwe say and on what the victims of the coup say.

The only legitimate way is to have a fact-finding mission. You can’t have these conclusions that it was a bloodless coup and lawful so forth without coming down to the ground to hear also from the victims.

If as we say in southern Africa, if Zimbabwe did it, why can’t Malawi do it, why can’t Zambia do it, why can’t Mozambique do it?.

Q: Have you spoken to Mugabe recently?

A: No, I have not spoken to him recently. I would like to do that and I can only do that when an opportunity avails itself.

We are concerned about his continued harassment. Certainly I hope he is well and had peace of mind.

But rationally speaking, he cannot be. How can he be well when we know that he was forced to resign when we know that he did not voluntarily write that letter.

He was threatened that if he did not sign, he was going to go the (former Libyan leader Muammar) Gaddafi way, that they were going to mobilise people and let them march to his residence, he was confined there, tried to engage the coup makers but they were bent on humiliating them. So how can he be well…?

A: And that his peers where quiet when that was happening?

Q: I think this is why some of them have a lot of thinking to do and I am sure their God has been visiting their conscience because some of what they allowed to happen might, will happen to them and they will regret.

And you know, this whole thing to say, you say while this was wrong, yes it was a coup, because it was about removing Mugabe, then its fine, doesn’t work.

That cannot be a civilised virtue. Just because we have issues with Mugabe does not justify a foul means.

Q: But he had stayed for too long.

A: Are you going to say if you are elected such that you say too long…?

Q: But people argue that the elections were not free and fair?

A: Therefore let’s have a military coup? Is that what you are prescribing?

Britain tells Mnangagwa He Must Pursue Fair Land Reform Prog

Mnangagwa meeting UK Minister Harriette Baldwin

By Reuters| Zimbabwe should press on with transparent and fair land reform, Britain said on Friday, as Harare’s new leaders look to overhaul policies that evicted thousands of white farmers without compensation.

Under former president Robert Mugabe, authorities carried out often violent seizures of white-owned farms in a bid to address what they called injustices during British colonial rule.

But new President Emmerson Mnangagwa – keen to boost the economy and mend ties with countries that imposed sanctions on Zimbabwe – has said he wants to end discrimination between black and white farmers and is working to compensate those who lost their properties.

Britain’s Minister of State for Africa, Harriet Baldwin, said she discussed the land issue with Mnangagwa in Harare on Friday.

“Obviously the UK government very much welcomes the statements that have been made about land reform by the government of Zimbabwe and we support a transparent and fair and mediated process around that,” Baldwin told reporters.

“It’s also something which is very important as a signal to international investors and so it’s important and we welcome the fact that the president has made a commitment in terms of continuing with that process.”

Zimbabwe sees mending relations with former colonial ruler Britain as a critical step towards re-establishing ties with the West and international financial institutions.

LEASES, TRIBUNAL
Under Mugabe, the government argued that it would only pay for buildings and equipment on farms but not the land, which it said had been expropriated from locals during the colonial era.

Mugabe, who was forced to step down after a de facto military coup in November, argued that Britain should pay compensation for the land because the farmers were its “kith and kin”.

When asked whether Britain would help pay the farmers, Baldwin said she welcomed “the statements that the president has made on that front”. She did not elaborate.

Land ownership is a highly sensitive topic in Zimbabwe. Colonialists seized some of the best agricultural land and much of it remained in the hands of white farmers after independence in 1980, while many blacks were landless.

The government has said it will issue 99-year leases to white farmers, according to a government circular.

Earlier this month a government document showed that Zimbabwe was considering establishing a special tribunal to determine the value of compensation and how to pay it to white farmers who have lost land since 2000.

After 6 days of total silence, Prof Moyo on the 20th November suddenly tweeted, a development that was interpreted to mean soldiers had gotten hold of his cellphone and they were the ones tweeting while he remained in military confinement.

His tweet was then quickly deleted under unclear circumstances.

Journalist Zenzele Ndebele said, “The Professor Jonathan Moyo’s tweet has been deleted. That means it was not him tweeting and also means someone has his phone.”

“Could this tweet, since deleted, be an attempt by Jonathan Moyo to throw his pursuers off the scent? Reference to 50 (including ministers & MPs ) out of the country appears like a suggestion to the effect that Zanu PF does not have the numbers to impeach Mugabe,” the journo wrote.

But as ZimEye revealed at the time, Prof Moyo had truly escaped the country and as of last week,, presented himself to the SABC in person.

He in the 20th Nov tweet, reveals that at least 50 MPs and Zanu-PF officials are outside the country. The tweet mentions Patrick Zhuwao, Saviour Kasukuwere, Makhosini Hlongwane and Paddy Zhanda and the others.

The tweet read, “In these difficult and trying times that have been thrust upon our country, I wish to advise concerned family and friends that I’m relatively fine outside the country as are ministers Kasukuwere, Zhuwao, Hlongwane, Zhanda plus at least 50 others who include MPs and Zanu-PF officials!” – ZimEye

Carlos Tinashe Chapeyema (23) who is based in Gweru and attached to the Zimbabwe National Army Infantry Battalion Brigade in Battlefields, Kwekwe, appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Mr Franklin Mkhwananzi during a bedside court session conducted at Mpilo Central Hospital.

Relatives said Chapeyema and his wife lived in Mutare but she recently returned to her parents, accusing the soldier of physically abusing her.

Chapeyema is facing murder and attempted murder charges.

He was remanded in custody to February 16 and advised to apply to the High Court for bail.

Chapeyema and his son Tlowi Chapeyema, whom he shot once on the leg, are admitted to Mpilo Central Hospital.

The soldier, who was initially confined to the intensive care unit, has since been transferred to the male ward and he is under police and military guard.

His wife, Ashley Phiri (21) and her siblings, Nkosivumile Ncube (16) and Rita Nkomo (23) died on the spot.

Prosecuting, Mr Mclean Ndlovu said on February 1 this year, Chapeyema went to his wife’s home armed with an AK 47 assault rifle, which was loaded with 20 rounds. He allegedly knocked on the door demanding that she opens it.

“When the door was eventually opened the accused person stormed into the house and started firing gunshots at Phiri, Nkomo and Ncube, killing them instantly,” said Mr Ndlovu.

The court heard that Chapeyema then shot his son and in the process fracturing his right leg before turning the rifle on himself. The child was taken to Mpilo Central Hospital’s intensive care unit.

Chapeyema was arrested at the scene and the weapon used in committing the alleged offences was recovered.

He expressed condolences to the bereaved families.

“Doctors did their best to save the injured man and the baby’s life. He had obviously sustained serious damages to his body. Doctors are fully monitoring him and we hope his condition improves. The baby is also out of danger and his condition is stable. Both patients are now out of danger and are now both out of the intensive care unit,” he said.-state media

LATEST- Drama As ZANU PF Faction Calls For Sanctions On Zimbabwe

By Farai D Hove| There was drama yesterday when it emerged ZANU PF faction members aligned to former First Lady Grace Mugabe, are calling for sanctions on Zimbabwe.

In their document, G40 members made the first ever public call by ZANU PF for the African Union (AU) and SADC to impose sanctions against Zimbabwe.

The document revealed by ZimEye yesterday, Friday, has their formation name typed out as the “New Patriotic Front.”  Many of the expressions in the shocking document are exact transcripts of former Higher Education Minister Professor Jonathan Moyo.

It states:

“In light of the foregoing, the New Patriotic Front demands that in the first place the conduct and statements of the African Union and SADC in relation to the events of the 15th of November 2017 cannot stand in blatant violation of the Constitutive Acts of these organisations and the Constitution of Zimbabwe. Such a dereliction of duty cannot be countenanced and cannot be without consequence or relief As set out in the opening paragraph, the following is demanded of the AU and SADC:-

a) openly renounce and condemn the said events of 15 November 2017 as a military coup;

b) take all steps necessary to refrain from recognising the legality or legitimacy of the military regime currently purporting to form the Government of Zimbabwe;

c) cease all diplomatic ties and cooperation and recognition of the said Government of Zimbabwe and further to refuse to accord it any recognition as a member in good standing of the AU and SADC;

d) urgently institute an investigation of the said extraordinary situation in Zimbabwe to establish the facts and to verify the assertions set out herein above;

e) take all steps necessary, diplomatic, political and otherwise to establish a transitional authority to oversee and superintend a process for the return of Zimbabwe to constitutionalism, legitimacy and normalcy;

f) deploy an AU force to monitor and ensure demilitarisation of politics, state and government institutions.”

Numerous US Businessmen Rush Open Shop In Zimbabwe Because of Mnangagwa’s Decisions

By Farai D Hove | US President Donald Trump’s local envoy says there is a massive influx of US business men and women flying into Zimbabwe to set up business here.

In a statement, the ambassador said even top US government officials are headed for Zimbabwe. The development comes after President Emmerson Mnangagwa introduced several economic reforms including cancelling Robert Mugabe’s reckless land reform program.

“Zim should expect high level visits by US govt; American businesses are opening shop in Zim,” he said in a statement on Thursday.

He later told the state media that his office was overwhelmed by Americans who wanted to visit Zimbabwe following the demise of Robert Mugabe.

“We have been flooded with inquiries of people who want to come and see the new dispensation and that covers everybody from musicians, businesspersons and church groups. Our diary is filled with Americans who want to come and see what the new dispensation is.

“We will have visitors from the White House here in February bringing a multi-agency delegation,” he said.

“We will have congressmen and senators in March and we expect that we will get business delegations as well as congressional delegations, church delegations,” added Thomas.

What does this mean for Zimbabwe?

With an effective restoration of Zimbabwe’s agriculture industry, ZimEye.com projects that in less than a year, Zimbabwe is set to once again become the world’s largest crop economy as it was in 1976 under former Prime Minister, Ian Smith. So far Mnangagwa has implemented other reforms which include removing the indigenisation Act.

MILITARY OPERATION RESTORE ORDER – Video Of Supa Mandiwanzira Giving “Sex Satanist” Walter Magaya Govt Powers To Control Zimbabwe’s Largest Data Centre

Is this the New Dispensation that the military fought to remove Robert Mugabe last year that now gives a self confessed “Satanist” preacher who also confesses inside police station paying bribes, govt powers to control Zimbabwe’s largest data centre?

Josiah Tongogara must be turning in his grave – President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s recently appointed cabinet Minister Supa Mandiwanzira is seen in the below video a month after the military coup announcing he is giving controversial Walter Magaya powers to control Zimbabwe’s largest data centre.

Magaya who has confessed inside a police station that he pays bribes to destroy evidence and in the ZRP video, even reveals he has in one incident alone paid out more than $13,500 to hide evidence. But Mandiwanzira moves forward to give this man powers to suppress evidence in what is now claimed to be a fight against fake news.

Two years ago ZimEye launched investigations on him after he had paid several of his lovers lumpsums and one of his girlfriends was killed during a church trip personally instructed by him.

In 2016 another one of Magaya’s victims was paid thousands of dollars to shut her up and ZimEye revealed the exclusive legal documents used in discussions between the lawyers. A year later, another complainant emerged, Petronella Donhodzo whose case Magaya has since attempted blocking using the Constitutional Court.

Magaya is seen in a video chop recorded at a police station admitting having an affair with Miss Donhodzo, and paying out at first $10,000 to a man he calls Kuda just to say “thank you.”

His spokesman “overseer” Admire Mango also admitted to the state media that the affair is true, only saying that the police had hidden another part of the shocking file footage.

In the last 7 days, ZimEye has now revealed how the longer part of the footage which shows Magaya saying that there are actually “3 recordings of me.”

The below video has Magaya speaking after a police officer had said to him, “so, Nyaya yaKuda I have no discussion about it. That one remains to you two people.”

To this Magaya interrupts the ZRP cop saying

“Kuda, I got to know him in 1997, way before I had started ministry.

“After I got to know him, when I started ministry in 2010, Kuda then became my first usher. The Kuda became mischievous in 2012, and I suspended him in church. After I had suspended him, he later came back. Following his return to church, he then left again. After he left in 2014, his young brother came to me crying after Kuda had been arrested and jailed for the case of a car he had taken away(stolen). I then release $3500 and asked police for his release. They then paid the owner of the car and Kuda was released.

“…and then in 2015 I got into an affair with a girl called Donhodzo, and this girl recorded me. She made 3 recordings of me. And then Kuda got wind of the recordings and he then came to me saying, “Munhu waMwari ndinezvandabata pane munhu arikuda kuku extortai mari”. He said there were other people the likes of vana Alex and others. He also brought the evidence and handed me. And I said Kuda you have done a good job, and then I took $10,000 when I did not have money and I gave him, and I said this is just saying, thank you for assisting me!

“Then after a some days again Kuda then approached this boy I work with Admire, saying I have become broke and Admire gave him $1,000. And Admire said Prophet let’s assist Kuda. That was last year in June. Then June, July, August, September Kuda did not come o church or talk to me.

“Then in December December there is a boy called Taku who walks with my security team… Then that guy was told to look for my mother’s number, then he became a security risk and I reported this to my security team…”

Below was the UK government announcement:

The Minister for Africa, Harriett Baldwin visited Zimbabwe on Thursday 1 February and Friday 2 February, on her first overseas visit in her new role as joint Minister for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Department for International Development.

Minister Baldwin met with Finance Minister Chinamasa and Reserve Bank Governor John Mangudya to discuss the government’s plans for clearing debt and normalising relations with the International Financial Institutions. Minister Baldwin welcomed the government’s recommitment to the Lima plan and confirmed that the UK would continue to support the government’s reform agenda. ZANU PF Speaks On Mujuru’s Assault

Simon Khaya Moyo

Zanu-PF has strongly condemned the violence perpetrated on National People’s Party leader Dr Joice Mujuru and members of her party by unknown assailants in Glen Norah, Harare, on Thursday. Dr Mujuru was on the campaign trail ahead of the forthcoming general elections when the incident occurred. It’s not clear what triggered the attack, but Zanu-pf yesterday said such acts do not have room in Zimbabwe’s political space.

This is in line with President Mnangagwa’s message to Zimbabweans and the world at large that the forthcoming elections should be free, fair, credible, transparent and violence-free. In a statement yesterday, zanu-pf Secretary for Information and Publicity Simon Khaya Moyo said those behind such acts should face the full wrath of the law.

“With reference to the incident of assault on members of an opposition political party on February 1, 2018 in Glen Norah, Harare South District by whosoever, zanu-pf condemns such actions unreservedly,” he said.

“I understand the Zimbabwe Republic Police has made some arrests in connection with this, which is commendable. The law must therefore take its course. His Excellency, President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa has consistently and persistently appealed to all Zimbabweans, irrespective of political parties they belong, to refrain from any form of violence in their day today activities. Peace is a prerequisite for development.”

To ensure that the political playing field is even, President Mnangagwa said Zimbabwe would invite international observers from across the globe to monitor the elections. The President’s anti-violence message and economic reform have been consistent since he assumed office on November 24, last year. This had impressed the international community that is already positively responding to his calls for peace.

Britain has so far dispatched three special envoys to re-engage Zimbabwe’s new leadership, while the United States Government has also promised to work closely with Zimbabwe. – state media

Mnangagwa’s UK Breakthrough

British Prime Minister Theresa May has been impressed by statements made by President Mnangagwa so far on economic and political reforms, which have sent important signals around the world about the country’s readiness for investment, an official has said.

This was revealed by Prime Minister May’s special envoy to President Mnangagwa, who is also the British Minister of State for Africa, Harriet Baldwin, following a high-level meeting she held with the President at his Munhumutapa offices yesterday.

Minister Baldwin said Zimbabwe and Britain were on the cusp of a major diplomatic breakthrough that could see the two countries soon engaging in various investment ventures underpinned on mutual benefit and interest. She was in Zimbabwe making her first overseas official visit following her appointment as Minister of State for Africa in a Cabinet reshuffle last month.

From the Zimbabwean side, the high-level meeting was attended by Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister Lieutenant-General Sibusiso Moyo (Retired), Finance and Economic Development Minister Patrick Chinamasa, Deputy Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Colonel Christian Katsande (Retired), Director-General of the Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) Ambassador Isaac Moyo and Foreign Affairs and International Trade Secretary Ambassador Joey Bimha.

Minister Baldwin was accompanied by British Ambassador to Zimbabwe Ms Catriona Laing and head of the Department for International Development for Zimbabwe and South Africa Mr Annabel Gerry

Briefing journalists after the meeting, Minister Baldwin said she had a cordial engagement with President Mnangagwa and was optimistic about the normalisation of relations between Harare and London.

“I brought a message (from Prime Minister May) that the UK Government welcomes the messages we heard from the new President in terms of his programme for economic and political reforms and we are very pleased to hear that the plans are to hold free and fair elections in Zimbabwe later this year,” she said.

“Obviously, we share with the Government of Zimbabwe our desire for there to be a situation where there is no violence at all on the ground. We condemn all violence and we are keen to see that all perpetrators of any violent activities are pursued with the full force of the law.”

Minister Baldwin said her meeting with President Mnangagwa discussed wide-ranging issues on mutual relations and the new era in Zimbabwe.

“I had a good meeting with the President and I have been able to say to him how much the UK welcomes the statements that he has been making to the media around the world about the future for Zimbabwe, the economic reforms and the plans for the free and fair elections this year,” she said.

“We had wide ranging discussions about a range of other interests. The UK Government very much welcomes statements that have been made about land reform by the Government of Zimbabwe and we support a transparent and fair mediated process around that. So, it is something which is very important as a signal to international investors.”

Commenting on sanctions and Zimbabwe’s possible return to the Commonwealth, Minister Baldwin said: “These are all important issues and we are certainly all aware of these points that have been raised and as you know both of these processes are international processes and the message that we are hearing from the new Zimbabwe leadership is a very positive one and I am sure (we) will engage a wide range of international participants in terms of the steps of implementing changes in the future.”

Minister Baldwin said the UK Government was encouraged by President Mnangagwa’s new approach to the political and economic reforms. She said deliberations also touched on the recent visit to Zimbabwe by Commonwealth Development Corporation officials.

“The UK obviously already is very involved in (investment) through our Department of International Development in a wide range of assistance to projects right across Zimbabwe and we were also able to talk about the role of CDC organisation within the Department of International Development, which visited Zimbabwe recently and is able to invest in a wide range of projects in the private sector and I think with outline of economic and political reforms that the President has set out, this will send a strong signal to investors around the world,” said Minister Baldwin.

“As you know, the UK has made the decision to leave the European Union and take back control of our own international trade policies. We are very grateful for the engagement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs here in trying to resolve and make straight forward the future trade arrangements we have with Zimbabwe. Globally, Britain is very much a champion of free trade and open markets.”

Minister Baldwin met Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister Lieutenant General Sibusiso Moyo (Retired) on Thursday where they discussed ways of enhancing relations between Zimbabwe and the UK.

The relations soured at the turn of the millennium over the land issue in the wake of the refusal by the Labour administration of Mr Tony Blair to honour obligations entered into with the Tory administration of Margaret Thatcher in 1979.- state media

Zupco Lease Agreement Fiasco As Businessman Fights Eviction

GIFT Investments has continued occupying the Zimbabwe United Passenger Company (Zupco)’s property in Southerton despite the termination of its lease agreement with the bus company by the High Court last year. The High Court terminated the agreement after it emerged that it was a product of bribery. Gift Investments is owned by businessman Mr Jayesh Shah.

The bribery case was raised in the court papers after Mr Shah caused the arrest and prosecution of former Zupco chief executive Mr Bright Matonga and former board chairman Professor Charles Nherera over a $20 000 bribe.

Mr Shah told the High Court, through an affidavit, that he paid $10 000 apiece to Mr Matonga and Prof Nherera as a bribe for the extension of a lease agreement and to facilitate purchase of more buses from Gift Investments. Gift Investments, which was served with a notice of eviction on January 24 this year, rushed to the High Court seeking stay of execution of the court order.

In the urgent chamber application filed on Tuesday, Gift Investments argued that it had since filed an application for leave to appeal the High Court decision. The company argued that the application for leave will be determined in a few days, hence it was just for the Sheriff to stay execution for now.

“The applicant has made an application for leave to appeal against the judgement authorising the execution of an appealed judgement and the application has been placed before Justice Tagu,” read the court papers.

“Everything being equal, the application for leave to appeal is likely to be determined within the next few days, it is just and convenient that the eviction should be stayed pending the finalisation of the application for leave to appeal.”

Gift Investments argued that it had been occupying the premises for over a decade and that it deserved to be spared eviction pending the determination of its appeal request. Gift Investments indicated in its urgent chamber application that it would continue paying rent to Zupco pending finalisation of the dispute. Zupco is yet to respond to the application. – state media

Makarau Gone, Chigumba Promises “Free And Fair Elections” Shut Up | OPINION

indepth…Wilbert Mukori

Wilbert Mukori|Newly appointed Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) Chairperson Justice Priscilla Chigumba says she will deliver a credible, free and fair election this year.

“It is a great honour and privilege to be asked to serve as ZEC chairperson. I want to promise Zimbabweans that I will deliver a free and fair credible election. Certainly, we will look into the questions and issues raised because it is our intention to deliver a free, fair and credible election.

“ZEC is an administrative body emanating from the Constitution and the Electoral Act. My mandate as an umpire is to make sure there is fairness in the process of electing leaders by the people. It is a clear mandate that I intend to discharge fully.
“The commission’s doors are open for those who want to come and engage us.”

To say I was disappointed to hear that is an understatement! I was disgusted, shocked and angry to hear that. If she was serious about delivering free, fair and credible elections then she must know that it was not just a simple matter of replacing one ZEC Chairperson with one “who promises” to deliver free and fair elections and Wala! The nation has free and fair elections.

ZEC only started the voter registration exercise in September last year, for example; there is no way it was going to register 7 million voters from scratch in the allocated five months. Last month ZEC officials admitted they will register only 5 million. So, nearly 30% of the eligible voters are being denied the vote because ZEC started the registration late.

To make matters worse, ZEC will not have time to down load the data and produce a verified voters’ roll before the elections. A verified voters’ roll is a common sense and legal requirement. As the new ZEC Chairperson, Justice Chigumba, must know that it was the failure to have a verified voters’ roll that made it impossible to stop such blatant vote rigging shenanigans as stopping hooded Zanu PF youths who were bussed from one polling station to the next casting multiple votes.

Even if ZEC Officials, under the able leadership of the new Chairperson, should decide to stop these hooded youths from casting multiple votes; can ZEC do this without the cooperation of the Police who, alone, have the power to investigate, arrest, detain, etc.!

“I promise to deliver free and fair election!” Are you going to add another 10 working hours to each day for the rest of the year to election day so can register the 2 million missed in the current voter registration exercise, to produce a verified voters’ roll, etc., etc.? If you cannot do these things then stop talking nonsense, just shut up.

Drama As Man Steals Late Brother’s Property

A man from Bulawayo has been arrested for allegedly stealing his deceased brother’s property in Lochview suburb on the day he died.

Sifundo Moyo (39) from Pumula East suburb allegedly stole Leesborn Moyo’s cellphone, laptop and vehicle registration book on January 19.

Sifundo appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Mr Lungile Ncube charged with a single count of theft.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge and Mr Ncube remanded him out of custody to February 8 for trial.

Prosecuting, Mrs Memory Ndlovu said on January 19 at around 10PM Sifundo was phoned after his brother had passed away.

“He went to his brother’s house in Lochview where he demanded his brother’s cellphone, took a laptop and vehicle registration book,” she said.

“When the deceased’s relatives came to collect his property they discovered that the cellphone, registration book and laptop were missing. Mandla Moyo who is the older brother approached Sifundo who told him he had sold the cellphone and the laptop.”

The court also heard that the matter was reported to the police leading to Sifundo’s arrest.

The vehicle registration book and the laptop, said Mrs Ndlovu were recovered after investigations were carried out. The phone valued at $15 was not recovered. – state media

Pastor Arrested For Raping Niece Several Times

A 42 year old prophet from Bulawayo has been arrested for allegedly raping his 20-year-old niece several times while she was sick in Pumula North.

The man, who cannot be named to protect the identity of his victim, is the ex-husband to the complainant’s aunt. The prophet from Cowdray Park suburb allegedly promised to pray for his niece who was complaining of stomach pains.

He allegedly frequently visited the woman who was staying with his ex for prayer sessions.

The prophet allegedly raped his victim on several occasions while his ex-wife was at work. The man appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Mr Lungile Ncube charged with rape.

He was not asked to plead and Mr Ncube remanded him out of custody to February 14. Prosecuting, Mrs Memory Ndlovu told the court that the accused person visited his ex-wife whom he had parted ways with ten years earlier in October last year while she was sick.

“It was during this visit that the accused met the complainant who had come to Bulawayo to look after her sick aunt. He was told that the niece was also complaining of stomach problems and he offered to help,” she said.

“The accused person frequently visited his ex-wife’s place of residence for prayer sessions with his niece. The aunt was employed by a security company in September last year and the accused took advantage of her absence and had sexual intercourse on several occasions with the complainant without her consent.”

The court also heard that the complainant narrated her ordeal to her mother when she went to their rural home during the Christmas holiday.

Her mother reported the matter at Pumula Police Station. The niece was referred to Mpilo Central Hospital for medical examination. – state media

“I Forgive The Mugabes For Baby Dumping Me”

indepth…Wilbert Mukori

Wilbert Mukori | “He (Mugabe) called me and I obliged. He was telling me what happened (her being “baby dumped” out of Zanu PF in 2014, as Grace Mugabe put is so crudely) was wrong, he was misinformed,” said Mujuru in an interview with the Voice of America (VOA).

“They (Mugabe, his wife Grace) were tricked, and mind you the same people who are now in control are the very same people who went and tricked Mugabe,” said Mujuru, in apparent reference president Emmerson Mnangagwa.

“So, they knew what they wanted to do – they wanted me out of the way first, so that they will be able to get to Mugabe easily.”

God bless the simpletons, they live in their own cloud-cuckoo-land a far cry from the real world. Only a simpleton like Mai Mujuru would believe all this hogwash.

Let us just restate the historic facts for the record; our cloud-cuckoo-land sister and her equally naïve followers can accept the facts and come down to earth or reject and continue to live in their make-believe fairy world.

Zanu PF was heading for an elective congress in December 2014 which was going to elect all the other party positions other than First Secretary, all Provinces had already endorsed their support of Robert Mugabe for that post as was normal practice. Mai Mujuru had the backing of eight out of the ten Provinces for the first Second Secretary post. Everyone knew that whoever win that post was in poll position to succeed the old and frail Robert Mugabe.

Emmerson Mnangagwa, Mujuru’s main challenger in the race, had only managed to get the support of the remaining two Provinces. There is no doubt he played a part in getting Mai Mujuru booted out of the party long before the party congress elected her.

Grace Mugabe, the country’s First Lady, had woken up to the reality that if her husband was no longer President, she will no longer be First Lady and therefore would no long be entitled to the lifestyle of unparalleled leisure and luxury she now enjoyed. She knew there was only one thing she must to safe guard her lifestyle and all the family’s amassed wealth should Mugabe seize to be president for whatever reason – she must be President herself. She knew that if Mai Mujuru was elected first Second Secretary at the December congress – that would slam the door shut to her ambition.

So, it was not only Mnangagwa but Grace Mugabe as well who had their beady eyes on the first Second Secretary post. Of course, two cooperated in their bid to oust Mai Mujuru. When exactly the penny had dropped only she will say.

Of course, Robert Mugabe, knew of his wife’s presidential ambitions and he facilitated his wife’s anti-Mujuru rallies designed to denounce the latter. Robert Mugabe joined in and openly criticized Mai Mujuru for her 2008 election treachery which nearly cost him the presidency. Mai Mujuru and her late husband had hatched the Operation “Bhora mushango!” (Kick the ball into the bush!) in which Zanu PF supporters were instructed to vote for the party’s parliamentary candidate but vote for the MDC presidential candidate, Tsvangirai, not Mugabe. Mugabe was not the thug ever to forget or forgive such treachery. To rewarding the treachery with his own crown, even after fulfilling his own lifetime ambition of being life-president, was clearly a not over my dead body matter!

If Mai Mujuru and her supporters had not been so breathtakingly incompetent and naïve, they should have foreseen the character assassination campaign to stop her being elected coming. In 2004, it was Mnangagwa who was set to win the same Second Secretary race then. Mugabe, unconstitutionally, introduced a clause demanding that one of the top four posts in the party must be occupied by a woman. The moved cleared the way for her to take that position. It clearly never occurred to Mai Mujuru that Mugabe would be up to his usual electoral shenanigans and she might be at the business end of the whip.

Mai Mujuru and her Nation People Party supporters were attacked in Harare a few days ago. A number were seriously hurt but no one was killed, thank God.

“Everybody must know that this government is not a people’s government,” commented Mai Mujuru. “It came by force and if they see people doing things in peace, they are not happy.”

Here is someone who was a senior member of the corrupt, vote rigging and murderous Zanu PF regime for 34 years who allowed all these things to happen and never once lifted a finger to stop them. Only now, after she was baby dumped from the party she pontificates about Zanu PF being “not a people’s government”.

““They (Mugabe, his wife Grace) were tricked!” Yeah right! No Mai Mujuru, you tricked the Mugabes and Mnangagwa; Mugabes tricked you and Mnangagwa; Mnangagwa tricked you and Mugabes. Zanu PF is a party of thugs and it thugs are thugs, the only rule they all live by is never to miss the opportunity to trick the others because they will do the same to you.

It has been the cursed lucky of the people of Zimbabwe have been stuck these Zanu PF thugs as the government! The November coup remove one dictator but only to replace him with another dictator, the dictatorship is alive and thriving. The corruption, vote rigging and the murderous oppression is set to continue as before. The torment, the suffering and despair of knowing there is no future as long as the Zanu PF thugs remain in power, is certain to continues.

“I forgave him a long time ago, including the, the wife,” said Mujuru, reporting on her recent visit to see former President Mugabe.

Just one losing thug consoling another losing thug! One hopes that the thugs do not expect the nation to forgive them for dragging the nation into this mess in the first place. The people of Zimbabwe will never ever forgive Mugabe and his Zanu PF thugs for all the suffering and deaths they have cause; at least, not whilst some of the Zanu PF thugs still remain in power to rub salt and chill into the open wounds the regime has inflicted!

The problem of corruption, vote rigging and murderous oppression by Zanu PF thugs is the root cause of the country’s economic collapse resulting in unemployment soaring to 90% and 72.3% of our people living on US$1.00 or less a day. This nation cannot afford another rigged election this year. We to end the Zanu PF dictatorship as a matter of cause, this year! We cannot afford the sentimental nonsense of people like Mai Mujuru who continue to view corrupt and murderous tyrants like Mugabe as fallen heroes whatever wrong they did was because he was misinformed!

Mnangagwa’s Govt Bans Sex Dolls

As the world grapples with the new phenomena of sex dolls, Zimbabwe and Botswana have them outlawed. So fellas, if you have one or fancy one  you can use them in South Africa. They don’t come cheap by the way, the cheapest being R16 000, just above $1 200. For now they are for the “haves” and the “have-nots” can only read about them.

Morris Nyagumba, an official at the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) said there was a law against owning sex toys in Zimbabwe.

“Section 47 (1) (b and c) of the Customs and Excise Act prohibits the importation into Zimbabwe of goods which are described as  indecent, obscene or objectionable, or any goods which might tend to deprave the morals of the inhabitants, or any class of the inhabitants of Zimbabwe,” he said.

But on the ground, these dolls have a huge underground market, a B-Metro columnist once interviewed an owner who gave it rave reviews.

The dolls have been around for sometime in the first world, and a Zimbabwean socialite, Vanessa Chironga nee Chiyangwa thought she had a virgin market to explore. However, her research must have skipped the legality of her business which upon failure to take off said, was “frustrating” despite seeing a “gap in the market”.

According to media reports in Botswana, that country too sees the new craze as moral decay.

In the United Kingdom Daniel Adams (33) ordered the 3ft 3ins doll on eBay but soon found himself hauled before the courts accused of importing an obscene or indecent item.

The Essex man believed he had purchased a £400 adult sex doll when he ordered it online, even indicating he wanted to return it when he suspected it might be illegal.

Adult sex dolls are not categorised as indecent or obscene and are not illegal to import, whereas child sex dolls are.

Chelmsford Crown Court heard how Mr Adams argued he thought he would be receiving a blow-up figure and not a child sex doll.

The jury heard how the Essex man’s purchase had childlike dimensions — standing just 3ft 3ins tall — but had large breasts.

During the unusual case photographs of the doll, called “Fiona” were shown to jurors.

In France

The first sex doll brothel in France has opened its doors — and it’s already proving very popular.

Hundreds of people have flocked to the sex club in the city of love, Paris. Punters are offered the services of a sex doll rather than a real woman in one of the several rooms inside the brothel.

A first look inside the sex club shows there are four different dolls. They come in a variety of shapes, colours and sizes and are all dressed in skimpy lingerie.

In South Africa

Lifelike 60kg love dolls are booming after being imported into South Africa for the first time ever.

In just 10 days every single silicone model has flown out the shop window at R16 000 (£1 000).

And the sudden frenzy has sparked a rush of orders for more dolls to be imported — with 45 due this month alone.

Just six JY Dolls were initially ordered by South Africa sex toy firm LuvLand in December to test demand.

Operations manager Patrick Meyer said at the time: “We were in China in October, where I ordered six of them.

Rude Awakening For Obert Mpofu, Exposed In Hwange Colliery Scam, Spouses Demo Continues

Maguwu blows the whistle

Farai Maguwu| Today the Hwange Spouses Demonstration entered Day 5 as the brave women stood their ground. And guess who went to address the women today? Obert Mpofu the Minister of Home Affairs. One may want to ask what does Home Affairs Ministry have to do with Hwange colliery. Yes, you guessed right. Mr Mpofu is part of the problem at Hwange.

He was Minister of Mines where the companies started defaulting on salaries and Mr Mpofu appointed Fred Moyo to be the Managing Director whilst he was Minister. Hwange colliery started collapsing when Mpofu was appointed Mines Minister and he in turn appointed Moyo to be the MD of the company. A 2014 news article by Elias Mambo reported ‘SENIOR Zanu PF officials, Tendai Savanhu and Fred Moyo, also deputy ministers for Lands and Mines respectively, are embroiled in a serious corruption scam in which Hwange Colliery Company and its subsidiary Hwange Coal Gasification Company (HCGC) lost close to US$200 million through “massive externalisation of funds and fraud” between January 2009 and May 2013, the Zimbabwe Independent can reveal.’

Today Mr Mpofu tried unsuccessfully to calm down tempers but the women stood their ground. Mr Mpofu thought the women would behave the traditional way of singing and ululating for political heavyweights. Today he got a rude awakening. The women demanded that he returns to Harare and work to reduce queues at the passport offices. Yesterday senior managers (second photo) had to escape through an undesignated point because they could not drive their vehicles home as the brave women barricaded the entrance to the the offices. These women are praise worthy. I implore all mining communities in Zimbabwe to adopt this language. It gets quick answers.

MUJURU FACTOR: Why Mnangagwa, Chiwenga Fear A Sobered Up Mugabe | OPINION

Methuseli Moyo| There is a lot that former President Robert Mugabe must say and be told. Only EDiots are afraid of the ghost of Mugabe. They fear Mugabe has sobered up, regretting and regressing, and will spill all the cans. There is no need for rocket intelligence to notice why EDiots don’t want anyone talking to Mugabe. He dwarfs them. NPP leader and PRC 2018 presidential candidate Joice Teurai Ropa Mujuru has no such inferiority complexes. She towers over both the EDiots and Mugabe. At 93, Mugabe’s ghost can only be harmful to those who were last seen with him – Chiwenga and the junta, and the person they “replaced” him with, Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa. That is why they have banished and gagged Mugabe. Mujuru is ready to converse with and contest against anyone.

Swiss Company Keen To Secure PSL Broadcasting Rights

Terrence Mawawa
Television viewers in the soccer mad nation of Zimbabwe are elated following reports that a Swiss company is interested in securing the rights to broadcast the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League matches.

Switzerland-based company, Infront Sports and
Media has expressed interest in securing the
broadcasting rights of the Castle Lager Premier
Soccer League.

The company is set to compete for the rights with
Kwese TV which is also hoping to strike a deal with the
PSL.

According to a daily paper, the company has
approached ZIFA in a bid to take over the rights from
SuperSport, whose contract with the PSL expired at
the end of 2017.

ZIFA president Philip Chiyangwa, confirmed to the daily paper that
his association had been approached by the company.

“Infront Sports and Media is one of the companies
that have expressed interest in taking over the
broadcasting rights of our football,” he said.

Last month the PSL invited tenders for broadcasting
companies interested in taking over the local
league’s broadcasting rights.

Zifa Executive Legitimacy Challenged | LATEST

The never ending drama in local football continues to persist with the legitimacy of the current Zifa board being challenged by a former employee.

Former Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa) accountant Fabion Vanganayi said the current Zifa board’s tenure in office should not be allowed to go beyond the midnight of 29 March.

Vanganayi said failure to hold elections before March 31 will be a violation of the Zifa constitution and the law of the land.

According to the letter, Dr Cuthbert Dube’s executive was elected into office on the 29th of March 2014 and the Phillip Chiyangwa led board which came into office on 5 December 2015 was just completing Dr Dube’s term which ends on 29 March 2018.

The same communication states if elections do not take place by this date any continued hold of office will be illegal and unconstitutional.

Vanganayi bases his locus standi on section 18 subsection 1(a) of the Zimbabwe constitution as read together with section 18 subsection 1.

He said the Zifa constitution was registered with the SRC in terms of the SRC Act on 18 November 2013 and is therefore subordinate to the Constitution of Zimbabwe.

According to the former Zifa accountant, misleading signals that have been sent by Zifa vice president Omega Sibanda and board member Philemon Machana are a cause for concern and seem to suggest no elective congress would have been called for by 29 March 2018.

In the event no elections are held by 29 March, Vanganayi said Zifa’s leadership would be operating illegally.

When contacted for comment, acting Zifa president Omega Sibanda was reluctant to give a comment on the matter.   – state media

Drama As Protesting Touts Block Highway

Scores of passengers and commercial vehicles were on Monday stranded for more than three hours along the Chiredzi-Checheche Highway after rowdy touts barricaded the road, protesting against the proliferation of pirate taxis.

The touts, who accused pirate taxis of taking away business, used stones and logs to block the highway at the Chiredzi River Bridge. The irate touts threatened to deliver instant justice on pirate taxi drivers who dared to continue plying the route.

Normal flow of traffic was only restored after the police, with the assistance of the Zimbabwe National Army arrested the rowdy touts. Masvingo provincial police spokesperson Inspector Charity Mazula could neither deny nor confirm the incident.

“I am not aware of what you are asking about, but you can check with me later on because I have something to attend to,” she said.

Efforts to contact her thereafter proved fruitless as she repeatedly said she was in meetings. Police sources in Chiredzi said they had to engage the army after failing to control the errant touts.

“We failed to stop their blockade because the touts were so many and were saying they only respected soldiers. Our superiors then engaged the army and the touts fled from the scene after an army truck appeared from one side of the road,” said a police officer who refused to be named.

Police sources said about seven touts were arrested. Witnesses said the touts threatened to set the pirate taxis alight. Of late, there has been a rise in pirate taxis plying the Chiredzi-Checheche Highway.- agencies

Mujuru And Grace Mugabe Gang Up Against Mnangagwa, AU Petitioned Over Coup | LATEST

https://youtu.be/I3cjrKrlo5E?t=7

Ray Nkosi | The two women who have given President Emmerson Mnangagwa a run for his money in the Zanu PF succession war, Joice Mujuru and Grace Mugabe have teamed up aganist him.

Mujuru met with former President Robert Mugabe and his wife Grace earlier this week, came out to report that the two had confirmed to her that indeed a coup had taken place.

At the time of writing ZimEye.com is also receiving reports that the African Union has been petitioned over the coup by a G-40 linked new opposition party the New Patriotic Front with explosive details being revealed on what really transpired on the 15th of November.

Mugabe apologised to Mujuru during their meeting, “I was misinformed and I decided to call you so that I can say I’m sorry, my daughter, we were misled. I have come to know that all the people who were fighting you are Mnangagwa and Chiwenga. It was a grand plan to get to me and not yourself.”

Mujuru then reiterated to Mugabe that: “Baba (father), I told you that I had nothing against you. All these people were fighting me simply because they wanted to expose you and get rid of you.”

Mnangagwa assured the just ended AU Summit that Mugabe was well and safe.

“May I inform this august chamber that, your brother, President Mugabe is safe, secure and well,” President Mnangagwa said to applause, adding that it was his duty as leader of the current administration in Zimbabwe to preserve former President Mugabe’s legacy as the founding father of the country.

Mnangagwa also told the Summit that Zimbabwe had seen a peaceful transition and that it was looking forward to working with all countries.

Silent Stories Of Gukurahundi

By Makho Precious Moyo | I have read the Catholic Justice Commission (C.J.C) report on Gukurahundi and am at pains trying to contain my tears. The atrocities committed by the fifth brigade are actually tantamount to a genocide committed by Mugabe and his regime. The witness accounts in the report are difficult to ignore. I have a question that has continued to play in my head – how can fellow Zimbabweans do such things to other Zimbabweans? – It was a complete massacre, a black vs black issue. However I am worried that the CJC report and other reports on Gukurahundi do not touch or explore the effects and level of rape committed by the fifth brigade and Central Intelligence Organisation ( C.I.O). I believe that the psychological, and physical impact of Gukurahundi was more severe on women that it was for men. Whilst I am not saying rape is worse than murder, the scars are life long and can affect a woman’s mental well-being for life which in some cases may equal death itself.

The Women may lose confidence, self-belief, self-esteem and the ability to function normally after being raped. Some are suffering with mental health issues after going through such acts and in our Zimbabwean society we say anopenga, a derogatory terms that means; she is crazy). In this article am focusing on one character I will call Mercy Mhundwa in order to protect her identity. Everyone who has been to Gwanda bus terminal will testify of the stories about Mercy Mhundwa who was referred to as the mad women of Gwanda bus terminus, but very few know her true story. I was born in Gwanda during the Gukurahundi era in 1983 and my mother told me that she was forced into early labour after her brother was tortured to death in front of the whole community by the fifth brigade. In other words I was born premature therefore I could have easily lost my life and would have never seen this earth but by the will of god I survived. When I was growing up I would see Mercy Mhundwa tearing her cloths preferring to walk naked and community women would be ashamed and try to cover her as quickly as possible. To me, it was free drama until I reached the age of 18years when I started asking questions to my mother. I really wanted to know why Mercy’s condition could not be cued and for an explanation as to what actually happened to her.

The story from my mother which collaborates very well with other Gwanda residence is that Mercy was gang raped by the fifth brigade. She was married to a ZAPU well know commander and when the soldiers from fifth brigade arrived at her house looking for the husband they were greeted by a well-shaped and beautiful Mercy Mhundwa. Despite being ill everyone will testify that she is very beautiful and such beauty has gone to waste. When the fifth brigade couldn’t find the ZAPU commander and in order to get his whereabouts the soldiers gang raped her for the whole night as a means of tortue. Residents heard her screams and pleas but they could not do anything to help her escape from the fully armed soldiers. The following day Mercy lost her mind, she is no longer the same. She lost her life in one night and no immediate counseling was given to her and until today Mercy Mhundwa is the drama queen of Gwanda bus terminal.

The story of Mercy is just a tip on the iceberg, there are thousands of women who were raped and sexually abused during Gukurahundi and no one talks about them. It seems they don’t exists and when Mtwakazi make noise about the murdered people of Matebeleland, they are pained by these visible reminders of rape victims who are ignored by our government. The current focus on Gukurahundi should be on healing those who were affected and offering counseling to the affected victims, mostly those raped and their families. Most women remained unmarried after gukurahundi ended and no one bothered to check why? They lost interest in sex after being raped by the soldiers.

As the debate of Gukurahundi is rages now a topical issue nationally and internationally, the president recently signed the bill of healing and reconciliation into law. It is of paramount importance that women lobby for rape victims to get counseling and perpetrators bought to book. The army has details of all soldiers that were attached to each area everyday and we need these made public. I am very confident that Mercy Mhundwa will be able to identify the men responsible for her suffering. The soldiers used rape as a weapon to get confessions and in the process shattered the lives of so many women.

Rape is a horrendous crime and its effects are dilapidating. Soldiers who raped and murdered are one and the same. Rape is worse in that the victim will live it over and over again for the rest of her life. Others would prefer to be killed than raped. These are women issues and need women involved to solve them.

Stop Fooling Us- Tsvangirai Officials Tells Mnangagwa

Terrence Mawawa, Masvingo
A senior MDC Official has castigated President Emmerson Mnangagwa for attempting to hoodwink the electorate by “decorating empty political rhetoric with high sounding words.”

Addressing an MDC Alliance Rally at Chikuku Business Centre last weekend, MDC provincial chairperson, James Gumbi said Mnangagwa was worse than Mugabe and further charged that the former Vice President’ s trump card was violence.

“My message to Mnangagwa is crystal clear- please stop fooling us.No sane person will buy your cheap political rhetoric,” said Gumbi.

He added the people of Zimbabwe were fed up with meaningless political grandstanding.

“Nothing is happening on the ground. Mnangagwa has totally failed to make an impact so he must go just like his predecessor Mugabe.

Instead of concentrating on nation building and economic recovery programmes, Mnangagwa is firing his perceived political foes,” said Gumbi.

Mnangagwa Buys Mugabe Off

Former president Robert Mugabe has been given the iconic Mercedes-Benz S600 Pullman Guard limousine he was using for official duties as part of his exit package following his dramatic ouster last November, the Zimbabwe Independent has established.

The ultra-luxurious bulletproof and blast-proof car, whose cost is estimated at US$1,6 million, has been outfitted with civilian registration plates.

Mugabe buckled to pressure on November 21 after he was placed under house arrest by the army, expelled from the ruling Zanu-PF and threatened with impeachment.

His successor, Emmerson Mnangagwa, announced in December that Mugabe would get a house, a fleet of private cars and was guaranteed first-class air travel as part of a retirement package funded by the state.

Details of the long-time leader’s exit package were published in the Government Gazette in December, in terms of Section 3(1) of the Presidential Pension and Retirement Benefits Act.

Sources familiar with developments at Mugabe’s palatial “Blue Roof” home in Borrowdale suburb said the limousine now has ordinary yellow number plates (AAX 3270). Before that the car was registered as “Zim 1”.

Sources said since his return from an annual holiday, the Mercedes-Benz S600 has been parked at his home.

“The old man has been keeping a low profile since his retirement. The number of soldiers and security details at his mansion has also been reduced. He has not been frequenting his Zvimba rural home too,” a source said.

The retired president will also be entitled to first-class overseas air travel restricted to four state-funded trips per year and three cars — a Mercedes-Benz S600 series sedan, a four-wheel drive vehicle and a pick-up truck. Government also undertook to pay for his fuel.

Meanwhile, President Mnangagwa assured African Union leaders at the just-ended AU summit that Mugabe is well and safe.

“May I inform this august chamber that, your brother President Mugabe is safe, secure and well,” Mnangagwa told regional leaders.

Towards the tail end of his rule, Mugabe’s wife Grace, full throttle in expanding her real estate portfolio, splurged millions of dollars on houses, cars and jewellery despite the fact that her business empire, under the Gushungo Holdings’ Alpha and Omega Dairies banner, is in the doldrums, incurring perennial losses since 2013.

In 2011, Grace and her former business partner, Ping Sung Hsieh — a Taiwanese-born South African — bought trucks, trailers and equipment worth almost US$1 million with money transferred through the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe.

Grace and Hsieh were later locked in a fight over a US$5 million mansion in Hong Kong.

Grace’s Mazowe empire already includes an opulent double-storey mansion on Mapfeni Farm, which can be seen from Manzou Farm where she began evicting thousands of villagers in 2011 to establish a game park. There is also a dairy farm, orphanage and a school. Grace has also grabbed land which belonged to the former Zimbabwe Stock Exchange-listed agro-producer Interfresh’s Mazowe Citrus Estates.

Mugabe Must Apologise Or His Children Will Be Haunted By Gukurahundi

Former President Robert Mugabe has to eat humble pie and lead the process of healing people in Midlands and Matabeleland who were victims of the infamous Gukurahundi.

While Mugabe was forced to retire from politics, it is to his advantage to tackle the Gukurahundi issue and apologise because this dark episode will haunt him forever.

Even if he were to die, his children will continue to carry the Gukurahundi skeletons wherever they would be.

Mugabe was the commander-in-chief of the defence forces and president of Zimbabwe when these atrocities happened; hence he knows what really transpired during that time.

The massacres cannot just be wished away and there are choruses from several quarters that are calling for the International Criminal Court (ICC)’s intervention.

They believe Mugabe is being persistently arrogant when he knows he oversaw an ethnic genocide or ethnic cleansing.

But as Zimbabweans we are saying before the ICC route, Mugabe must be given the chance to ask for forgiveness and possibly lead the healing process.

While I applaud President Emmerson Mnangagwa for appointing his deputy Kembo Mohadi to head what he calls an “independent commission” to deal with Gukurahundi, I strongly believe that the commission is not really independent.

In the past we have had vice presidents who were tasked to lead this healing process and they failed dismally.

And why is it that those leading this process have to be Ndebele speaking, from John Nkomo to Phelekezela Mphoko and now Kembo Mohadi? How independent are these vice presidents so as to head the Organ for National Healing, Reconciliation and Integration?

I agree with playwright Cont Mhlanga’s assertion that any apologies for Gukurahundi should not be made to the gallery or media and that this Gukurahundi enterprising in posh hotels must come to an end.

Indeed no Gukurahundi victims are buried in hotels and none in the cities share their everyday lives with Gukurahundi mass graves.

Any apology should be for the people of Midlands and Matabeleland and Mnangagwa should facilitate for Mugabe to come to the districts and have dialogue with the local people in the presence of traditional leaders.

In other countries former heads of state are usually engaged as peace brokers and Mugabe as a statesman should take up the challenge and bridge this gap between the affected people and those in authority.

I am sure with political will-power resources can be sourced that could go to compensate the victims some of whom left behind children, husbands, wives and parents.

If Mnangagwa’s government is promising to compensate the white farmers who lost their land, I do not see why it cannot compensate those who lost loved ones.

I spoke to a number of political and social analysts recently after the Gukurahundi issue resurfaced at the Davos interviews that Mnangagwa held and they were of the view that unless this dark episode is amicably resolved, there will be no total peace in the country.

But the analysts are of the opinion that no one should apologise for the Gukurahundi genocide except Mugabe.

And they argue that if Mohadi has been tasked by Mnangagwa to lead on Gukurahundi then all he has to do is bring Mugabe to the districts so that the dialogue can move to a closure.

The issue of choosing a Ndebele to lead the processes, which Mugabe also used to do, has the analysts thinking these appointments are just cosmetic and that even
Mnangagwa is not genuine in all this.

Indeed what type of independent commission is chaired by a vice president, who himself also suffered directly or indirectly from the atrocities and has been compromised over the years by being opted into the camp of the perpetrators?

And if Mugabe remains arrogant and refuses to apologise or engage with affected communities, then it would be unfortunate as this will force Mnangagwa to apologise and compensate victims as he was part of the team that executed the operation.- Daily News

Chimedza Finally Resurfaces In Public

Terrence Mawawa, Masvingo
Ousted Masvingo State Minister Paul Chimedza has finally resurfaced in public after spending two months in hibernation.

Chimedza finally emerged out of the cocoon and addressed a group of curious Masvingo residents near FBC Bank today.

As soon as Chimedza stepped out of the bank, curious residents trailed him as they were eager to ask him about his political fate.

He waved at the swelling crowd and said everything was fine with him.

“There is no problem at all, everything is fine with me,”said Chimedza.

Chimedza was kicked out of government following the resignation of Robert Mugabe.

Drama As Man Demands Free Sex From Hooker

A 19-YEAR-OLD self-confessed hooker regrets giving her contact details to her married former lover who is now tormenting her demanding free sex.

Tsitsi Kujeke narrated how she was forced into prostitution three years after she was drugged and raped at a party.

She said Petridge Mbangani was wasting her time.

She also narrated how Petridge leaves his wife in the dead of the night and visits her for free sex saying she is losing potential clients because of the time he spends with her.

“Petridge visited me last Friday and we had sex and afterwards, he took me to a food court where he spent time with me achindiudza zvekumba kwake apa haandibhadhare. My colleagues tracked us and we were photographed together at a food court and my message to Petridge is loud and clear that he must stop pestering me for free sex,” said Tsitsi.

Tsitsi also opened up about her upbringing and how she joined sex work to ease her sorrows.

“The person who raped me is the one who broke my v-rginity and from that time I was sexually abused by various men.

“I want to raise money to further my education not to be used by someone who is married and is after free sex.

“I met him some time ago and he asked for my contact details haachabvi kumba kwangu and I regret giving him (the contacts).”

She also told H-Metro that she eases her sorrows by listening to Alick Macheso’s tracks.

“I am a staunch follower of Alick Macheso mainly because of one of his songs ‘Pabva zino’ (Chara Chimwe) which clearly describes my life as an orphan and what I went through,” said Tsitsi.

“Panofa amai vana dzatova nherera. Pasina baba Tsitsi uye woshupika that is what Macheso says in that song.

“I fell in love with Petridge after transferring to a college from a school where my schoolmates were stigmatising me over being raped.

“I was drugged and raped when I was 14 years old and my guardians could not take me seriously vachinditi kanzenza kemwana and I strongly suspect that they received bribe from the person who raped me.

“I left home and made efforts to look for my mother following the death of my father who had separated with my mother when I was young.

“To be honest with you, I feel bitter when I meet the lawyer who represented the person who raped me and because of this I am into prostitution to raise money to further my education.

“I want to study law and make sure all perpetrators of rape are behind bars for life because it’s not by choice to hook various men for sex daily,” she added.

She said one of her clients wanted to give her money to celebrate her birthday but Petridge disturbed the meeting.

Contacted for comment, Petridge confirmed bedding Tsitsi saying he was not aware she was now a ‘thigh vendor’ since they were lovers at college.

“Check (sic) man I have got a wife at home so if this story is published it will affect my marriage,” said Petridge begging H-Metro for the story not to see the light of the day.

Chihuri Arrest, Fresh Kidnapping Charges Slapped On Ex Police Boss

Wife of Harare businessman Bigboy Pachirera, Marygold, yesterday laid criminal charges of kidnapping and robbery against former police Commissioner-General Augustine Chihuri at Marlborough Police Station under RRB 3448723.

Marygold is alleging that she was kidnapped by police officers — Nemaisa, Nxumalo and Jachi — who sexually harassed and threatened her to disclose the whereabouts of a Jeep Cherokee and Mercedez Benz belonging to her husband.

The vehicles were reportedly registered in Marygold’s name and her daughter.
Chihuri is fighting a $3 million lawsuit from the businessman for allegedly forcibly taking his luxurious vehicles and properties.

It is believed that during the ordeal, Nemaisa summoned Marygold’s lawyer Mr Rungano Mahuni to CID Morris Depot, where the businessman’s wife was still in police custody.

Mr Mahuni was ordered to cooperate with the gun-toting police officers or risk being hurt.
The serious allegations against Chihuri and the police officers are contained in a recent letter written by Mr Mahuni — on behalf of the businessman — to Chihuri.

“I managed to contact Deputy Commissioner-General (Josephine) Shambare and we were called at Police General Headquarters,” he alleged. “I was told that the matter was serious because it involved the “boss” and that we should comply with every directive for our safety.

“We went to Kambanje where they took the Jeep and Mercedes Benz, which was kept at a friend’s house.”

Mr Mahuni dismissed the assertion that Pachirera voluntarily gave up his Highfield property to Chihuri as “compensation for stealing from him”.

He said the letter was contrived by senior police officers. In fact, Mr Mahuni said in the letter that Senior Assistant Commissioner Godfrey Munyonga instructed CID Serious Fraud Section police officers to dictate a letter to “mend” the broken relationship.

“Mr Manyonga was your point man and was instrumental in the execution of the criminal acts,” he said. “My client denies all allegations levelled against him as malicious.

“In fact, my client made it clear that he was unwilling to surrender his property to Chihuri. In regards to the Highfield house, the preamble states that my client owed $20 000. What happened to the balance of the house, which was worth $50 000?

“Your office prepared the agreement of sale without the input of my client.” Herald

Mnangagwa’s 99 Year Farm Lease Legal Bind Exposed

Lawyer and new politician on the bloc, Fadzayi Mahere has shot down President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s 99 Year Lease for White Farmers , saying it is just hot air.

Mahere, wrote arguing that the government’s move can be changed at any time because the constitution is still in place.

Her critique comes however, as facts continued to increase that anything in Zimbabwe can change under Mnangagwa’s ZANU PF, at any time, since ZANU PF has parliamentary supremacy.

Legal experts in Mnangagwa’s support said Mahere’s critique is as much “hot air” as Mnangagwa’s policy is, since nothing is sacrosanct.

Wrote Mahere: According to today’s Herald, the Government has directed that all remaining white commercial farmers be issued with 99-year leases. With respect, the move is cosmetic in nature as the said leases are not going to improve in any way the legal position of the farmers who mistakenly think they now have some sort of cognizable land tenure. The legal reality is that they do not.

1. The Constitution still overrides the terms of any lease agreement entered into by the government with farmers. Section 72(2) is still in force and gives the government the power to acquire any land for a public purpose. This the government can do with the mere stroke of a pen. This section would have to be repealed before the farmers can celebrate what they mistakenly believe to be stronger tenure to the land. Mind you, the jurisprudence of the Supreme and Constitutional Courts to the effect that the Minister of Lands has wide powers to distribute and re-allocate land is still firmly in place. Those judgments empower the Minister to even ignore extant bilateral protection agreements entered into with foreign governments for the benefit of international investors. One has to do a lot more than scream “new dispensation!” in order to change the applicable law.

2. From a purely property law perspective, a lease does not confer a real right, enforceable against the whole world in the way that title deeds do. A lease is a mere contract affording only personal rights. A lease does not confer ownership and is a legal relationship that is capable of being terminated on good cause shown under law. Under the Gazetted Lands (Consequential Provisions) Act, a lease is on a similar footing to an offer letter and a permit. It gives one the right only to possess the land. One cannot sell or encumber the property as one would if they were an owner.

3. The decision only to protect current possessors of agricultural land is arbitrary and a possible violation of section 68 of the Constitution which guarantees inter alia the right to substantive fairness when it comes to government conduct. There is no legal reason why a farmer who was dispossessed two years ago should not be afforded the same administrative treatment as a farmer who remains on the land today. To do so, is to violate the right to equal protection of the law enshrined under section 56(1) of the Constitution.

4. There is a misconception that these leases will be able to stand as real security for bank loans and other mortgages. The unfortunate reality is that long leases won’t improve a lessee’s ability to borrow money from a bank. Land leases of the nature contemplated do not carry the same strength as title deeds to urban land, registered in the deeds office in the eyes of a financial institution. The principles that govern real security are such that the lender should be able to register their mortgage over the property with a view to selling the same should the debtor default. Section 72 of the Constitution vests all agricultural land in the State and the bank would be powerless to sell the land in the event of a default. What right-thinking bank would lend under those terms?

5. The rule of law means that policy statements made in newspapers do not confer rights. The Constitution and enactments lawfully passed do. Citizens must only celebrate these policies once they have the force of law. Unless they do, these proposals are only hot air designed to create a false impression of change. Amending the law is the true test. I challenge the government to change the relevant laws to show that it is indeed genuine about fortifying the right to property in Zimbabwe. Mind you, despite all sorts of niceties being bandied about, the Indigenization Act is also still firmly in place. If the government no longer intends to apply it as promised, the said law must be repealed.

Mujuru Attack | MORE DETAILS

Armed supporters of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s ruling Zanu PF party allegedly beat up opposition leader Joice Mujuru and her National People’s Party (NPP) supporters at a rally in Harare yesterday where she was due to speak, her NPP has claimed.

The alleged Zanu PF youths disrupted the opposition party’s rally in Harare’s high density suburb of Glen Norah.

Mujuru told a news conference she sustained loosened teeth and a swollen face and had to seek urgent medical attention.

Mujuru’s doctor recommended that she undergoes an X-ray examination to establish the extent of the injuries she suffered, according to a medical report seen by the Daily News.

“This meeting was legal, it had been cleared by police and we don’t know why they chose to attack us,” Mujuru said.

She also urged her party members to show courage and not be intimidated.
“These are the things that should unite us and give us courage. It should show the world that we are a party that does its business in peace. We don’t fight.

“Some of the parties are used to this culture of violence, but let’s not retaliate. Let’s show them what should be done. From now onwards, there is no turning back because even Mr Mnangagwa has said elections are set to take place soon. So we must forge ahead, advertising ourselves,” she added.

According to NPP secretary-general, Gift Nyandoro, police arrested five of the suspected Zanu PF activists believed to have taken part in the violence.

Police were not immediately available for comment.
Several other NPP members suffered various head and body injuries as the attackers charged at them armed with stones and sticks. Mujuru’s own security team battled to shield her from the stones that rained in her direction.

The former Zimbabwe vice president was, however, not so lucky as she said one of the stones hit her on the cheek. Some of her party members had their vehicles smashed.

One of the female NPP members alleged that she was stripped naked and forced to lie on her stomach before they took turns to savagely beat her with logs. Daily News

Hospital Drama As Woman’s New Born Baby Is Swapped For Another

A Mutare woman says she gave birth to a baby boy, but left Mutare Provincial Hospital maternity ward with a girl child and claims there was a baby swap involving medical staff at the hospital. The matter has since been reported to police, and investigations are in progress. Manicaland Police spokesperson Inspector Tavhiringwa Kakohwa said the culprits will face kidnapping charges.

“Yes, we have received that report of an incident which is said to have occurred at Mutare Provincial Hospital. We are investigating the matter and can only be in a position to give a comprehensive comment after getting to the bottom of it,” said Inspector Kakohwa.
However, information gleaned by The Manica Post shows that Mrs Precious Musara gave birth to a premature baby boy at her Chitakatira Village home, Mutare district, on November 24, 2017. Her husband Mr Lloyd Chikuni and neighbour Mrs Melody Machikiti played the midwifery role.

After the home delivery, Mrs Musara was taken to Chitakatira Clinic where she was given a blue baby card as further confirmation of having given birth to a baby boy. She was then referred to Mutare Provincial Hospital for further incubation of the premature baby. Sources at Mutare Provincial Hospital said during the period Musara was admitted at the referral centre’s maternity ward, another expecting mother in the same ward was said to have been under pressure from her husband to give birth to a boy.

“When the woman from Chitakatira (Mrs Musara) was admitted at Mutare Provincial Hospital maternity ward, there was also another woman in the same ward who is believed to have been under pressure from her husband to conceive a boy. Unfortunately she gave birth to a girl, and connived with medical personnel at the hospital to swap babies so that she would go home with a baby boy as per the demands of her husband.

“Mrs Musara actually confronted the nurses on duty over the swap of babies but they insisted that she had given birth to a baby girl.

The nurses at Mutare Provincial Hospital had the guts to exchange the blue baby card she had been given at Chitakatira Clinic for a pink baby card that is normally given when one gives birth to a girl,” said the sources. Mrs Musara was discharged on November 22, 2017 and lodged a report to police two days later. Manica Post

President Mnangagwa Has Been “The Face Of Violence” For Years And He’s Even On LIVE Video Boasting About Beating People Up, BUT SHOULD HE APOLOGISE?

President Mnangagwa has been the face of violence since the early 1980s and for 34 years to date he is firmly on both print and video media boasting about assaulting and killing people.

By Farai D Hove| The UK Minister for Africa, Harriett Baldwin has slapped President Emmerson Mnangagwa on violence saying her country condemns it.

While there are impeccable documented statements of him calling for the killing of Ndebeles in the 1980s, the most recent video of him taken just 3 years before he became President has him calling for the beating of anyone who does not agree with his party, labelling them desecretors of the national heritage.

Mnangagwa has been seeking the favours of western nations since becoming President.

“We condemn all violence and we are keen to see that all perpetrators of any violent activities are pursued with the full force of the law,” said Minister Baldwin following her meeting with Mnangagwa on Friday.

Her statement comes as the local EU envoy, Philippe Van Damme, also demanded answers of the violence that saw Mnangagwa’s predecessor Joice Mujuru and her members being assaulted on Thursday.

Mugabe Says Mnangagwa Is A Criminal

Former President Robert Mugabe has literally said President Emmerson Mnangagwa is a criminal.

Mugabe is quoted by National People’s Party leader Joice Mujuru saying, what happened during the November coup which forced him to resign is not legal.

“He told me that what has been done (referring to Mnangagwa) is illegal,” says Mujuru.

Mujuru was speaking to the US based Studio 7 in an interview yesterday. The exiled professor Jonathan Moyo has called for a SADC inquiry into the affairs of the coup that led to the Mnangagwa’s ascendancy.

What will now happen following this confession?

EXPOSED – Chihuri Won Multi Million Dollar Tenders (Under Mnangagwa’s Portfolio) To Construct Roads

By Dorrothy Moyo| Former ZRP boss Gen Augustine Chihuri won multi million dollar contracts under President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s watch, it has emerged.

President Mnangagwa was head of the Commission overseeing tenders since 2014 during the period Chihuri obtained the contracts.

Chihuri’s company Kidsdale had government contracts to dualise the Harare-Mutare Road as well as a part of the Chirundu-Harare-Beitbridge dualisation project set to cost US$ 998 million. It was previously slated at $2,7 billion before the figures were revised down.

Chihuri was exposed when he had to defend himself in a US$3 million lawsuit in which he is alleged to have seized cars and properties.

Chihuri states in his court papers:

“Between February and June 2007, your client stole 49 500 litres of diesel meant for Kidsdale’s Shamva project. In 2011, Kidsdale was contracted on the Harare-Bulawayo Road dualisation project.

“Your client, as the transport manager, contracted his two tipper trucks alongside his employer’s trucks, drawing diesel from Kidsdale Enterprises account at PaKarina Service Station. He drew 2 150 of diesel valued at $2 795.

“The allegations by your client are baseless and your demand for $2 968 000 is also baseless. Your threat to approach the court is groundless. This is a desperate attempt to extort money.”

Chihuri’s opponent in the case Bigboy Pachirera, however says:

“…We are aware that you are currently earning income out of use of his vehicles, which are working on the Harare-Mutare highway.”

The case is still pending at the courts.

Mugabe Says Sorry To Mujuru, Blames Mnangagwa And Chiwenga For Playing Dirty

Grace Mugabe and husband Robert flanked by Gideon Gono

Former President Robert Mugabe has apologised to his former deputy Joice Mujuru.

Mujuru was smeared and labelled treasonous in events that led to her being expelled in 2014.

During those days Mugabe said Mujuru had attempted witchcraft acts to get him killed.

But this time Mugabe has reportedly apologised to Mujuru for firing her and also demonising her. As in the earlier ZimEye article, a second report quotes this time Mujuru’s spokesperson, Gift Nyandaro, confirming that Mugabe invited Mujuru to his “Blue Roof” residence in Borrowdale Brooke on Tuesday.

At the meeting Mugabe admitted that he was misled by Emmerson Mnangagwa and his deputy, Vice President General (Retired) Constantino Chiwenga.

He said this was in order to isolate and weaken him.

Nyandoro quoted by Newsday said,

“They met and it was at Mugabe’s invitation. One of the reasons was to say sorry for everything that happened to you.

I was misinformed and I decided to call you so that I can say I’m sorry, my daughter, we were misled. I have come to know that all the people who were fighting you are Mnangagwa and Chiwenga. It was a grand plan to get to me and not yourself.”

The report says Mujuru then forgave Mugabe. Nyandoro says Mujuru said,

“Baba (father), I told you that I had nothing against you. All these people were fighting me simply because they wanted to expose you and get rid of you.”

EXPOSED – Grace Mugabe Says She’s Literally Possessed With Nehanda’s Demons | IS THIS NOT WHY SHE BECAME IDIOTIC?

Below is the video of former First Lady Grace Mugabe announcing that she is possessed with Nehanda Nyakasikana’s demons.

Is this the secret reason why Grace Mugabe suddenly went bezerk and became all controlling?

Nehanda Nyakasikana (DOD 1897) did to the people of Zimbabwe exactly what Grace Mugabe later did to youths like Kudzanayi Chipanga in November last year; she ordered the people to stand before the army of settlers saying that the bullets would turn into water, and by this had may killed on her account. Historians reveal that unlike true leaders who were either Sabhukus and Kings, Nehanda Nyakasikana who had no position in society, was in fact a witch. A diary from 1896 seen by ZimEye.com will is re-publishing shows how in her last days, she possessed a lot power and would command people around like God Almighty. Grace Mugabe can he heard in the below file video announcing that she is Nehanda Nyakasikana’s incarnation. – TRANSCRIPT UNROLLING…. – refresh this page for the text.

We Do Not Take Orders From ZEC, Say Zanu PF Officials

By Terrence Mawawa, Masvingo| Ruling party officials here have defied the ZEC’ s call on politicians to desist from forcing villagers to surrender the serial numbers on Biometric Voter Registration slips.

Last week ZEC warned politicians to stop intimidating villagers around the country.

“We have received several reports about people who are moving around recording the serial numbers on voter registration slips.

Following such reports we would like to notify all Zimbabweans that doing so is an offence,” read the ZEC statement.

However, Zanu PF Officials in Gutu District, Paul Garirai, Felix Mareva, Kingstone Magaya and Jeremiah have remained unfazed by ZEC’ s warning.

“We do not take orders from ZEC and yes we are collecting the serial numbers,” said Garirai aside Magaya.

Chaos Rocks Dembare As More Officials Threaten To Quit

By Terrence Mawawa| Popular Harare Giants Dynamos FC are experiencing turbulent times and senior party officials are threatening to quit the club.

Dembare vice president Solomon Sanyamandwe has threatened to quit the club following incessant in-house battles at the Harare Giants.

The club’ s secretary general Webster Marechera and treasurer Moses Chikwariro have reportedly usurped the decision making powers at the club.

The two are also fighting to kick out board chairman Bernard Marriot Lusengo, it has emerged.

A source within the club said the re-assigning of long-serving team manager Richard ‘Nyoka’ Chihoro was a calculated gimmick to frustrate him.

“The vice president has had enough of the goings on at the club and he is likely to step down anytime.

After Chihoro’s dismissal, the next target is assistant coach Biggie Zuze. Lloyd Mutasa will be exposed without his trusted backroom
staff,” said a source at the club.

Ambassador Wants Zim Warriors To Date South Korea In Friendly Encounter

By Terrence Mawawa| The South Korean Ambassador to Zimbabwe Cho Jaichel is eager to watch a game between the Zimbabwe Warriors and the South Korean National Soccer Team.

sometimes I watch CAPS United playing.

“I would like to watch a football match between Zimbabwe and Korea,” said Jaichel.

Meanwhile, the Zimbabwe Football Association has since sent invitation letters to the football associations of Senegal and Egypt, with the hope of
securing international friendly matches.

British PM May Dancing With EmmerSIN ‘Maggie-Style’ Putting UK On the Wrong Side of History, Once Again

By Nomusa Garikai| “Britain is looking forward to working closely with Zimbabwe’s new administration led by President Mnangagwa in various areas, including opening a new page where investments beneficial to both countries can be made,” reported ZimEye.

“British Minister of State for Africa Harriet Baldwin said this after meeting Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister Lieutenant-General Sibusiso Moyo (Retired) in Harare yesterday.

She is scheduled to meet the President today.”

The single most important issue in Zimbabwe today is that the country must hold free, fair and credible elections. The country is in this economic mess with unemployment soaring to
nauseating heights of 90% and 3/4 of our people living on US$ 1.00 or less a day. The poor are living cheek and jowl with the filthy rich ruling minority whose mansions, wealth and extravagant lifestyles are a crying injustice against man and God Almighty Himself!
For nearly four decades now, the nation has been stuck with this corrupt and incompetent regime unable to remove it because it rigged elections, used violence including mass murder and stage coups to remain in office against the democratic will of the people.
The internal factional fighting within the ruling party, Zanu PF, resulted in the removal of the one tyrant, Robert Mugabe, but only to have him replaced with another tyrant, Mnangagwa.

President Mnangagwa has promised free and fair elections but has not implemented even one democratic reforms agreed with SADC leaders during the GNU, the last time the regime was censored by the regional group for failing to hold free and fair elections.
Zimbabwe’s economic recovery is totally dependant on the country holding free and fair election and thus get rid of this corrupt, incompetent and vote rigging Zanu PF regime. The British government must not re-engage this Zanu PF, not until the regime has delivered on its promise to hold free and fair elections.

“Now, following Zimbabwe’s apparent change of leadership last year, many in the international community are eager to invest (in Zimbabwe). The United States and other long-time supporters of Zimbabwe’s democratic forces should not, however, fall for a poorly veiled charade of a military junta,” wrote Todd Moss, a former USA deputy assistant secretary of state for African Affairs. See “Don’t Whitewash Mnangagwa And The Military Junta” ZimEye opinion.

“The rush to assist a country as it emerges from the clutches of a brutal dictator is
understandable, even praiseworthy. In such situations, the United States and its allies should support the forces of freedom and economic opportunity. This was the response in many places across Africa, including Ethiopia after the fall of Mengistu Haile Mariam, Liberia following the ouster of Charles Taylor, and most recently in Gambia. These were true historical transitions. Zimbabwe’s is not.

“In November 2017, Mugabe was placed under house arrest and ultimately ousted by his own army. Thousands of people flooded the streets, alongside tanks and uniformed soldiers, to celebrate. But this was no popular uprising restoring democracy; rather, it was a well- orchestrated coup designed to maintain the status quo. In Zimbabwe, sadly, the dictator may be gone, but the dictatorship remains.”

There have been many cases, far too many as far as I am concerned, when successive British governments have found themselves on the wrong side of history as far as the people of Zimbabwe are concerned. The British government of the day should have acted more decisively to rein the rebel white minority regime of Ian Smith; it did not. The British government had its military advisors on the ground; they turned a blind eye to Robert Mugabe’s Gukurahundi massacre, “moment of madness”, as the tyrant has since admitted. The British government will hang its head in shame if it restored normal relations with the Zanu PF thugs in Harare and at the very time the regime is going into overdrive on its vote rigging activities!- zsdemocrats.blogspot.co.uk

“On the day in question, the ZNA member had been assigned night guard duties at the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation transmitter at Guinea Fowl, Gweru. “Challenges that we are facing are huge. They will require time and I believe that we are in the great course to correct the challenges facing the nation.

“But this cannot be achieved by me alone or by my small team. It requires the cooperation, advice and input of every Zimbabwean in the country who loves his or her country.”

Last month, President Mnangagwa opened a Facebook account, which he said can be used by the public to interact with him.

The President is using the platform to interact with members of the public who are free to make suggestions or criticise.

He also outlined his vision to create jobs for youths.
