State-Assisted Funeral For Six Kwekwe Miners

The government has announced a state-assisted funeral for the six artisanal miners who tragically died in a mine dump landslide in Kwekwe on Thursday afternoon. A funeral parade took place on Sunday to honor the victims, who were identified as Simon Chauke, Offias Ncube, Edward Phiri, Gasiyani Banda, Marshall Mpofu, and Ephraim Ncube.

Relatives of the deceased expressed their gratitude for the government’s support during this difficult time. “We are very grateful to our government for coming to our rescue. It was a tough call as the accident just happened when we never expected,” one family member stated.

Another relative shared the profound impact of the loss: “He was the breadwinner in the family. The loss is just too much to bear. However, I want to thank the government for coming to our rescue. I don’t know what we could have done without this help.”

In light of the tragedy, the government is urging miners to prioritize safety, especially in disused mines. Mr. Charlton Murove, acting director of the Ministry of Local Government and Public Works, commended the Central Protection Unit for their quick response, which saved one life and ensured all bodies were recovered promptly. He emphasized, “I just want to urge our artisanal miners to always consider their safety first before embarking on mining activities.”

The ongoing safety issues in mining communities remain a pressing concern, as the country continues to mourn the loss of lives, particularly among artisanal miners. The government is now calling on law enforcement agencies to enhance monitoring of mining operations to prevent future tragedies.

Mnangagwa Demotes Foreign Affairs Minister

By Political Reporter-Foreign Affairs Minister Fredrick Shava has been demoted by his boss, President Emmerson Mnangagwa, and replaced with Amon Murwira, the former Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science, and Technology Development.

The move comes at a critical time, as Zimbabwe continues to grapple with strained relations with Western nations, rooted in nearly two decades of diplomatic isolation and economic sanctions.

Shava’s ouster is seen as a significant reshuffle in Mnangagwa’s cabinet, particularly as the Foreign Affairs Ministry plays a vital role in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) and mending ties with Western powers, which have been sour since Zimbabwe’s controversial land reform program in 2000.

Zimbabwe’s foreign relations took a drastic turn in the early 2000s when then-President Robert Mugabe’s government violently seized land from white commercial farmers, a move that drew widespread international condemnation.

The West, led by the United States and the European Union, imposed targeted sanctions against Zimbabwe, accusing the government of human rights abuses and undemocratic practices.

These sanctions, which Mnangagwa has been vehemently campaigning against since taking power in 2017, have hampered the country’s efforts to attract FDI and rebuild its economy.

Despite Mnangagwa’s promises of reform and re-engagement with the international community, Zimbabwe’s relations with the West have remained largely stagnant.

Investment has been further discouraged by a combination of policy uncertainty, corruption, and a hostile business environment.

Although Mnangagwa has repealed parts of indiginisation laws to attract investment, Zimbabwe’s poor governance record and weak economic fundamentals continue to deter potential investors.

President Mnangagwa’s DJ, Kaycie’ Admits Molesting 19- Year-Old South African Citizen in UK

By A Correspondent | ZimEye | London, UK — Kudzai Chipadza, popularly known as “Kaycie,” the official DJ for President Emmerson Mnangagwa in UK, has admitted to molesting a 19-year-old South African jobseeker after flying her to the UK. The shocking revelations came to light in an interview with ZimEye over the weekend, following months of allegations raised by the young woman on her social media platforms, including TikTok and Instagram.

Kaycie, notorious for running a money-laundering syndicate involving job-seekers, responded to the accusations during the ZimEye interview, dismissing the victim’s age as irrelevant. He defensively stated, “She is not a child, why are you calling her a child?” The DJ’s comments have sparked outrage and intensified calls for a deeper investigation into his activities.

Kudzai Chipadza

The victim, whose identity remains protected, shared her harrowing experience of being lured to the UK under false pretenses last year, where she claims to have been held as Kaycie’s “slave” for over six months. In a series of emotional statements, she recounted how she was coerced into working illegally and subjected to physical and sexual abuse.

“First of all, I signed a contract with KC [Kaycie]… He gave me a visit visa that I can’t even work with. The only thing I could do was work for his club through the back door… He would force me to stay in a house with him, smoke weed, and use drugs. Every day he came to my bed, and I couldn’t leave the house unless he was there,” the victim revealed in a live video.

Her testimony paints a disturbing picture of manipulation and exploitation, with claims that Kaycie controlled her movements, confiscated her money, and left her stranded on multiple occasions, including at hotel receptions and foreign locations. “I was trying to escape, but he always found a way to bring me back. He had so many girlfriends, and his business partner would even buy me morning-after pills to prevent pregnancy after he assaulted me,” she further alleged.

The victim who’s since relocated to SA, also revealed that she reported the sexual abuse to UK authorities in February and provided a detailed statement to the West Midlands Police. Despite her efforts, she continued to suffer at the hands of Kaycie, describing how she lived in constant fear of retaliation. “I sat in a car with him while he planned to kidnap someone’s kids to recover money he had lost. I was too scared to steal from him or leave, knowing what

Chief Dies After Receiving Mnangagwa Car

By Political Reporter- Chief Marupi of Dibilashaba in Gwanda South, has died a few months after receiving a car from President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Chief Marupi, born Oaheng Nare (28) one of the country’s youngest traditional leaders, passed away suddenly on Sunday while on official business in Harare.

His death also comes after a few weeks after a brazen armed robbery at his rural home.

He was admitted to Health Point Hospital, where he died after a short, unexplained illness.

His sudden death has sparked concern, coming so soon after the October 10th robbery that saw armed men storming his home, stealing his government-issued vehicle, R2,700 in cash, and several cell-phones.

Nare, who became Chief Marupi in 2012 following the death of his father, had only fully assumed his role at 18, after a two-year wait.

Gwanda District Coordinator Nomathemba Ndlovu confirmed his death, but further details remain scarce.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) are still investigating the robbery, which took place just two weeks after President Emmerson Mnangagwa had distributed 90 Isuzu trucks to traditional chiefs, one of which was stolen from Chief Marupi’s residence.

ZRP spokesperson Paul Nyathi said, “The police are investigating a case where unknown individuals broke into Chief Marupi’s home, demanding cash and making off with his government vehicle.”

Chief Marupi’s untimely death, shrouded in mystery, leaves the community in shock.

He is survived by his wife, Rorisang Tlou, and his passing raises unsettling questions about the events surrounding his final days.

ZANU PF Deputy Chairman Ephraim Fundukwa’s Home Bombed For Calling for ED 2030

By A Correspondent | Harare, Zimbabwe – In a growing wave of violence within ZANU PF, Deputy Chairman for Harare Province, Ephraim Fundukwa, has claimed that his home was petrol-bombed early this morning. The shocking incident follows closely on the heels of an arson attack on the office of his superior, ZANU PF Chairman Goodwills Masimirembwa, just a day before.

Fundukwa made the announcement Monday, sparking fears of escalating internal conflict within Zimbabwe’s ruling party. The timing of these attacks coincides with mounting tensions surrounding President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s leadership ahead of the upcoming ZANU PF congress, which many speculate will be a pivotal moment for the party’s future.

The attack on Fundukwa’s home comes just as party insiders and heavyweights are rumored to be pushing for Mnangagwa’s exit, with the congress expected to decide on his successor. While Mnangagwa has downplayed the significance of the congress, referring to it as a routine conference, factions within the party view it as an “electric” event with high stakes.

No official statement has been issued by the ZANU PF leadership regarding the attacks, but there is growing concern that the violence may be tied to power struggles within the party. Fundukwa and Masimirembwa’s public support of Mnangagwa’s continuation as president has made them potential targets, as divisions deepen among ZANU PF factions.

Authorities are expected to launch investigations into the incidents, though no suspects have been named. As tensions rise ahead of the congress, these attacks may signal more unrest to come within the party. More details to follow.

Although Mnangagwa has repealed parts of this law in an effort to attract investment, Zimbabwe’s poor governance record and weak economic fundamentals continue to deter potential investors.

Ex-CIO: Mnangagwa Plotted Coup Against Mugabe for Years

By A Correspondent

Lovemore Itai Mukandi, the former deputy director general of the Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO), has made the shocking claim that President Emmerson Mnangagwa had been planning the 2017 coup against former President Robert Mugabe for years, with origins in the Gukurahundi massacres of the 1980s.

Mukandi claims that Mnangagwa, General Constantino Chiwenga, and the late Perence Shiri felt threatened by the prospect of being prosecuted for their roles in the Gukurahundi atrocities in a recently released video and his new autobiography, How Mnangagwa Blindsided Robert Mugabe and Grabbed Zimbabwe. The reasons behind the coup that finally resulted in Mnangagwa’s rise to power are clarified by Mukandi’s assertions.

Mukandi went on to explain that Mnangagwa and Chiwenga’s fears were amplified when Mugabe made it clear that he intended to name Dr. Sydney Sekeramayi as his successor. The two men planned the coup because they thought a leader they did not trust could start prosecuting them for previous crimes, according to the former CIO official.

Mukandi claimed that Mnangagwa was unelectable in a fair political environment and had long planned to take power through illegal means. In the video, Mukandi claimed that Mnangagwa had always intended to seize power because he knew he could not win an election.

A firsthand account of the events leading up to the coup and the political intrigues within the ruling party are the goals of his autobiography, which is currently available on Amazon. Discussions concerning responsibility for previous human rights abuses and the intricate political dynamics of Zimbabwe may be rekindled by Mukandi’s assertions.

Mnangagwa’s leadership and the legacy of the Gukurahundi massacres, which have long plagued Zimbabwean politics, may come under closer scrutiny as the nation struggles with its tumultuous past.

Scandal: End Time Message Pastor Fathers Children With Woman Whose Wedding He Officiated

By A Correspondent

After officiating a woman’s marriage, a pastor at Chiredzi’s End Time Message church fathered two children with her.

After DNA testing revealed that Farai Hatirarami was not the children’s biological father, Eunice Mururi and Hatirarami’s marriage disintegrated.

Mururi took Pastor Pamire Vhetu to Chiredzi Magistrate Court to request maintenance, where he acknowledged paternity of Mururi’s two children, who are 8 and 4 years old, but asked for less money because he does not receive a regular salary.

Hatirarami is not the father of the two children, according to DNA testing.

The matter became public on October 7, 2024, when Mururi from Tshovani Township took the pastor to court for US$700 maintenance.

Vhetu, represented by Farai Chauke of F. Chauke and Associates, stated he is a pastor not on a payroll, relying on tithes and offerings, mainly food hampers.

He offered monthly maintenance of ZWG150 per child.

Vhetu, who also farms at 3 Hectares Buffalo Ranch and has eight other children, told the court he has no bank account, only an EcoCash account.

He offered to buy school uniforms, pay school fees when due, and buy clothes in June or December.

In his opposing affidavit, Mhetu said: “Clothes are not bought on a monthly basis except for Elon Musk’s Children.”

Musk is a South African-born American billionaire entrepreneur and business magnate known for founding and leading several high-profile companies

Mururi’s application was denied by Magistrate Diana Musiiwa, who stated that the offer was not sincere. She mandated that the pastor provide US$175 a month to support the two kids.

Indian “Billionaire” Shaji Ul Mulk – Sponsored Cricket Tournament Under Probe For Match-Fixing And Corruption

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has initiated a full-scale investigation into Indian “billionaire” Shaji Ul Mulk – sponsored cricket tournament, the Zim Afro T10 League, focusing on serious allegations of match-fixing. With players and officials already facing intensive questioning and even the seizure of phones, the reputation of the competition has come under fire.

At the heart of the probe is a highly suspicious match between the Durban Wolves and Harare Bolts, raising alarm bells about the integrity of the tournament. What should have been a celebration of cricket in Zimbabwe has now been tainted by accusations of widespread corruption.

Two particular overs from this match stand out for their bizarre and potentially incriminating nature. The sixth over, bowled by UAE cricketer Kashif Dawood, shocked spectators as it stretched to an unprecedented 14 balls. Dawood, who has known ties to Pakistan, gave away a staggering 7 wides and 2 no-balls, gifting 20 runs to the opposition. Such an anomaly has led many to question whether this was sheer incompetence or something far more nefarious.

The ninth over, bowled by Afghanistan’s Dawlat Zadran, added fuel to the suspicions, as he conceded 23 runs with 8 wides. A seasoned bowler like Zadran making such errors is not just rare—it’s almost inconceivable.

To further thicken the plot, Pakistani Test spinner Yasir Shah bowled just one over but gave away 30 runs, including three wides and three sixes. The absurdity of these numbers has led to intense scrutiny from the ICC’s Anti-Corruption Unit.

With several Pakistani players and officials involved in the league, the investigation has zeroed in on their possible role in this controversy. Allegations are swirling that key individuals may have engaged in suspicious activities, and one team owner’s sudden departure from Zimbabwe before meeting with officials only adds to the cloud of suspicion.

The ICC’s Anti-Corruption Unit has already confiscated the phone of a player under investigation and is thoroughly questioning team officials. One bowler, citing “fitness problems,” is also facing scrutiny for what now appears to be an orchestrated cover for poor on-field performance.

The Zim Afro T10 League, designed to elevate cricket in Zimbabwe, now risks being remembered for corruption rather than competition. While the Joburg Bangla Tigers were crowned champions, the real headline has shifted to the damaging allegations against teams like the Durban Wolves and Harare Bolts. With the ICC refraining from public comment on the ongoing probe, the future of the league hangs in the balance.

Contact tracing for 2 Mpox cases continues

By A Correspondent

The contacts of two Zimbabweans who recently tested positive for Mpox, a virus that has spread throughout the world from African equatorial forests, are being closely watched by health authorities.

The two cases, which were found in Mberengwa and Harare, are still stable and isolated.

While efforts are being made to track down additional contacts for the 24-year-old patient in Harare, Health and Child Care Minister Dr. Douglas Mombeshora confirmed that seven contacts for the 11-year-old Mberengwa patient had been identified.

He stated, “We have increased our surveillance, but we have not had any more cases.”

Chiwenga Supporters Condemn John Paradza’s Statements and Announce Bulawayo Demonstration

By A Correspondent| The General Chiwenga Voluntary Supporters Association, a coalition of ZIPRA military veterans, Women Associations, and Youth Associations from Bulawayo, Matabeleland North, and Matabeleland South, has issued a sharp rebuke to statements made by John Paradza and his faction during a recent gathering in Dadaya.

The association condemned Paradza’s declaration that President Emmerson Mnangagwa would remain in power until 2030, calling it an “affront to democracy” and a “direct attack” on General Constantino Chiwenga’s leadership and standing within the nation. Chiwenga, often referred to by his supporters as “Umkhwenyana,” has emerged as a prominent figure, garnering considerable backing from various sectors of the Zimbabwean populace.

In a strongly worded statement, the association described Paradza’s faction as a “minority desperate to cling to power through undemocratic means,” accusing them of using divisive rhetoric to undermine General Chiwenga’s support. They made it clear that their loyalty lies firmly with Chiwenga, whom they view as Zimbabwe’s future leader.

“General Chiwenga is the leader the people of Zimbabwe are rallying behind,” read the statement, emphasizing the general’s military background and his commitment to the nation’s progress. “Our support for General Chiwenga is not up for debate.”

In response to what they described as “reckless and divisive” statements, the General Chiwenga Voluntary Supporters Association announced plans for a mass demonstration in Bulawayo. The protest, expected to draw large crowds from across Matabeleland, is intended to showcase public support for Chiwenga and to send a clear message to Paradza and his supporters.

The association has called on all patriots—youth, women, and veterans alike—to join the demonstration, which they hope will serve as a powerful reminder that “the true will of the people” stands firmly behind Chiwenga.

“We will oppose Paradza’s agenda with all the force at our disposal,” the statement continued, labeling Paradza’s rhetoric as an attempt to “sow division and chaos for self-interest.”

The General Chiwenga Voluntary Supporters Association reaffirmed their confidence in Chiwenga’s leadership, citing his military credentials, strength, and vision for Zimbabwe’s future. They view Paradza’s declarations as a direct challenge to the legitimacy of Chiwenga’s leadership, vowing not to be intimidated by what they see as a factional minority.

“To John Paradza and those backing him, we say this: You will not silence the voice of the people. You will not stand in the way of justice. And you will not deter us from the leadership we seek under General Chiwenga.”

As tensions rise within the political landscape, the upcoming demonstration in Bulawayo is expected to be a major event, highlighting the growing divide between factions supporting Chiwenga and those backing President Mnangagwa’s extended leadership.

The association concluded their statement with a rallying cry: “Umkhwenyana Ngowethu!”—a slogan they believe represents their unwavering commitment to General Chiwenga.

The date of the demonstration has yet to be confirmed, but organizers are preparing for what they predict will be a large turnout from across Matabeleland and beyond.

Sengezo Tshabangu Almost Died In Switzerland

By A Correspondent| Sengezo Tshabangu, the secretary-general of the opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), is recovering after being hospitalized in Switzerland following a sudden illness. Tshabangu had traveled to attend the 149th Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly, where he serves on the IPU Standing Committee on Sustainable Development Goals.

After arriving in Switzerland last Friday for the assembly, which runs from October 12 to 17, 2024, Tshabangu experienced severe stomach pains and was hospitalized due to suspected food poisoning. According to a close source, the illness struck shortly after landing, leading to his admission to the intensive care unit (ICU) at one point as his condition became critical.

“He was fine throughout the flight,” the source revealed. “The illness came on suddenly. Fortunately, the Swiss healthcare system responded efficiently. He wasn’t able to attend the event, and he even required ICU care for a while.”

When contacted, Tshabangu acknowledged his illness but declined to speak at length, saying, “Send a message; I can’t take calls now… I am good now.” He referred further questions to his personal assistant, Nqobizitha Mlilo, who confirmed Tshabangu’s improving condition. “Senator Tshabangu is recovering well,” Mlilo stated. “Everyone falls ill from time to time; it’s part of life. He’s back to his normal duties.”

Tshabangu has been a figure of controversy within Zimbabwean politics. In September, he made headlines after receiving $1.6 million from the government under the Political Parties (Finance) Act, which allocates funding to parties with at least 5% of the vote. The government recognized him as the leader of the CCC, granting his faction funds alongside Zanu-PF.

His rise within the CCC has been contentious, particularly after he declared himself interim secretary-general of the party, which was founded by Nelson Chamisa in January 2022. Tshabangu has since recalled numerous party councillors and legislators, triggering costly by-elections that saw Zanu-PF winning several seats and securing a two-thirds majority in Parliament. This move has allowed the ruling party to advance its legislative agenda.

Tshabangu’s critics, including Chamisa, have accused him of being a Zanu-PF proxy—an allegation Tshabangu strongly denies. He has also faced internal strife within the CCC, with some members defecting to Zanu-PF and ongoing disputes with officials from the Welshman Ncube-led CCC faction.

As Tshabangu recovers, the internal power struggles within the CCC continue, leaving the party’s future uncertain.

Don’t Kill My Family: Kenya’s Ousted DP Appeals to President Ruto

By A Correspondent

Rigathi Gachagua, Kenya’s impeached deputy president, announced on Sunday that President William Ruto would be held accountable if anything happened to him and that his security protection team had been removed.

Gachagua told reporters that his safety was in jeopardy, despite his denial that the charges against him were politically motivated.

Referring to Ruto, whose campaign he backed in the 2022 elections, he told reporters, “It is the most unfortunate thing that has ever happened in this country that you can be so vicious to a man who helped you to be President.”

Speaking on the phone, police spokesperson Resila Onyango said she would investigate Gachagua’s remarks regarding the security protection but declined to comment immediately. According to Ruto’s spokesperson, they would comment eventually.

In Kenya, after senior politicians leave office, their protection is frequently reduced.

Gachagua informed reporters that his case was unique because he had contested his impeachment in court and did not consider his dismissal to be final.

Zimpapers employees plan incapacitation days ahead of Zanu PF conference

By A Correspondent| Zimpapers employees across the country are planning to declare incapacitation days before the upcoming Zanu PF conference in Bulawayo, as they struggle with significant salary cuts and the devaluation of the Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG) currency.

Zimpapers, headquartered in Harare, has branches in Bulawayo, Gweru and Mutare.

In September, Zimpapers reduced salaries by as much as US$200 and as low as US$100, with employees now earning 40% of their salaries in US dollars and 60% in ZiG. The devaluation of ZiG by 43% on September 27 has further exacerbated their financial woes.

“Things have become unbearable. We are now earning peanuts, and the management seems deaf to our cries,” said a Herald employee who wished to remain anonymous.

The employees are now considering incapacitation days to pressure management into addressing their grievances before the Zanu PF conference, which is scheduled to take place from October 22 to 27.

“We have no choice but to take this step. We need to be heard,” added another employee.

The Zanu PF conference, themed “Industrialise, Modernise towards Vision 2030,” is expected to draw over 4,000 delegates and will focus on the state of the economy and government policies.

Zimpapers is one of Zanu PF’s mouthpieces, the declaration of incapacitation will affect the ruling party’s communication efforts.

Zimpapers management has yet to respond to the employees’ plans, but the situation remains tense as the conference approaches.

By Tinashe Sambiri

In a passionate post on Facebook over the weekend, Chamisa expressed his commitment to environmental protection and the urgent need for responsible stewardship of Zimbabwe’s natural resources.

“BIG ON ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION…I’m big on environment and the green agenda. I wish to imprint a green legacy in my lifetime. I’m a green champion,” he stated. Chamisa emphasized his love for Zimbabwe’s natural beauty, saying, “I love nature. I love plants. I love trees. I love animals. I love people. I love Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe is beautiful.”

Highlighting the country’s rich environmental heritage, he pointed out that “Zimbabwe still has some nice all year round perennial rivers,” and stressed the importance of preserving these vital resources. He called for immediate action against what he described as “careless, mindless and heartless riverbed mining” and the destruction of the nation’s mountains, stating that such activities must be “checked and stopped.”

Chamisa concluded his statement with a rallying cry for environmental awareness, declaring, “#GreenIsClean #GreenZimbabwe #Greenpolicies.”

His remarks come at a time when calls for sustainable environmental practices are increasingly urgent, as many believe that a healthy ecosystem is essential for Zimbabwe’s future prosperity.

Scandal in Matopo: UK Woman’s Shocking Secret Marriage to Sister’s Husband Exposed

By Shelton Muchena, UK | In a surprising turn of events, a married woman residing in the United Kingdom recently returned home and secretly married her sister’s husband, leaving her own husband of ten years behind.

Similo Tshabangu, hailing from Matopo under Chief Nyangazonke, tied the knot with Collen Masuku from Lower Gwelo in September. Masuku, who also goes by Sipho Khumalo in South Africa, was previously married to Similo’s sister, and the couple shares a daughter. Similo herself is customarily married to Mention Moyo, with whom she has two children.

According to a source who requested anonymity, neither Similo’s family nor her husband were aware of the clandestine wedding. They were taken aback after a photograph surfaced, showing the couple signing their marriage certificate in Bulawayo, while Similo’s husband, who resides in South Africa, believed she was still in the UK.

The source revealed that Similo moved to the UK last year as a caregiver and secretly returned home in September to marry her sister’s husband. When reached for comment, Similo responded with, “Tshiyanani lami” (leave me alone) before abruptly ending the call. Attempts to contact Masuku and Mention for their perspectives were unsuccessful, as neither could be reached.

While the villagers expressed shock at Similo’s actions in pursuing her sister’s husband, they were also critical of her behavior, noting that she had previously left two marriages. Reports suggest that the couple intended to elope to the UK and live together while maintaining their respective marriages back home to uphold appearances, but their plans have now been unveiled.

Property Owned By ZANU PF Chairman Bombed For Saying ‘Mnangagwa Not Stepping Down’

ZANU PF Chairperson Masimirembwa’s Office Petrol-Bombed Amid Rising Tensions Over Mnangagwa’s Leadership

By Farai D Hove.| ZimEye | Harare, Zimbabwe – ZANU PF Chairperson Goodwills Masimirembwa’s office was petrol-bombed early this morning, shortly after he publicly backed President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s continuation in office ahead of the party’s upcoming congress.

Eyewitnesses report that unknown assailants in vehicles with no number plates and a Honda Fit launched the arson attack around 4 a.m. The attackers, armed with makeshift petrol bombs, targeted the office barricades under construction and set a security guard on fire before throwing a petrol bomb into the office, severely damaging the property.

Masimirembwa, speaking to the state-run Herald newspaper, confirmed the attack:

“The report I received is that two vehicles with no number plates and a Honda Fit arrived around 4 a.m., carrying petrol and makeshift bombs. They beat the security guard, doused him in petrol, and set him alight. They threw a petrol bomb into the office, which luckily only hit the bookshelf.”

The security guard, who sustained extensive burns covering 80% of his body, was rushed to the hospital and is receiving critical care. Masimirembwa added, “We just visited him, and while we are praying for his recovery, his condition is very serious.”

The attack comes at a time of heightened tension within the ruling party, with factions reportedly divided over President Mnangagwa’s future. While Mnangagwa has downplayed the upcoming ZANU PF congress, calling it an “ordinary conference,” insiders and party heavyweights have told ZimEye that it is a pivotal moment to decide his successor.

Several furious ZANU PF members have publicly voiced their discontent with Mnangagwa’s leadership, calling for him to step down during the congress, which is set to begin on Monday. The attack on Masimirembwa’s property may be a stark message from those within the party who are determined to see Mnangagwa’s leadership come to an end.

Impeccable sources indicate that Mnangagwa’s grip on power is weakening, with strong signals pointing to his potential exit. However, the arson attack has raised concerns about increasing violence and internal strife within the party as the congress approaches.

ZANU PF has yet to issue an official statement on the attack, but tensions remain high as the political situation unfolds. More updates to follow.

After Helping Mnangagwa Destroy Zimbabwe, Nevers Mumba Wishes God Saves Zambia

After playing a pivotal role in helping Emmerson Mnangagwa and his network destabilize Zimbabwe, Nevers Mumba is now seeking divine intervention for Zambia. In a shocking turn of events on August 27, 2023, Mumba admitted to recording a controversial video that undermines the entire SADC election report. His video, which dismisses any critics of the Zimbabwean election process and those questioning Uebert Angel’s involvement in election rigging focused gold smuggling, labels such individuals as “sanctions-criminals.” This means that in Mnangagwa’s eyes, these people can be subjected to imprisonment or even death, all under the guise of combating Western interference.

This notorious video was released in April 2023, following a secret phone call with the disgraced prophet Uebert Angel. It not only defends Mnangagwa’s fraudulent actions but also uses the Zambian flag insignia to disrupt investigations into money laundering linked to Angel. When Mumba was asked to explain why he made such factless comments, which directly contradict the official SADC position, he downplayed the issue, stating, “The two are not connected. SADC has a specific mandate. They don’t deal with any peripheral issues but the conduct of the elections.”

Yet, the reality is that Mumba’s video, scripted by Angel himself between March 31 and April 10, 2023, effectively turns 15 million innocent Zimbabweans into “sanctions-criminals,” justifying state violence, election rigging, and terrorism. These baseless accusations have sparked outrage, as Mumba is seen as a pawn in Mnangagwa and Angel’s illicit schemes, dating back to 1996. His long-standing collaboration with these figures undermines his credibility, especially given the recent GoldMafia investigation, which highlighted the corruption, smuggling, and economic devastation caused by this criminal network, including the notorious Kamlesh Pattni.

When confronted about his role in Mnangagwa’s prophetic mafia, Mumba provided vague responses, failing to acknowledge the damage done. His attempt to separate SADC’s election observation from these broader criminal activities has been seen as a weak defense. Moreover, his refusal to address the fact that the GoldMafia investigation predated Al Jazeera’s existence and was deeply rooted in crimes committed in the 1990s raises questions about his honesty.

Even more disturbing is Mumba’s connection to Uebert Angel, a figure accused of influencing political outcomes and being linked to the deaths of two African presidents, Levy Mwanawasa and Bingu Mutharika. Mumba’s actions have raised concerns about the safety of Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema, who may be vulnerable to manipulation or worse, as Mumba’s close relationship with Angel continues to cast a dark shadow over Zambia’s leadership.

The fundamental question remains: How can Mumba assure the people of Zambia, Zimbabwe, and SADC that he will not again be swayed by dubious influences that threaten the stability of entire nations? His recorded video, filled with endorsements for Uebert Angel and echoes of dangerous rhetoric, suggests that his actions are

Walter Magaya Is A Fake Name, Just Like Makandiwa, Hopewell Chin’ono, And Raymond Makunde, All O’ Level Flunks

By Investigative Reporter | ZimEye | Recent claims from staff members of Walter Magaya’s church suggest that the religious figure holds five O-Level passes. However, questions are surfacing regarding the accuracy of these claims. Even though he might be a more honest scammer than compatriots like Hopewell Chin’ono, and Emmanuel Makandiwa, Magaya, who is pushing ZIFA to amend its constitution to accommodate individuals without formal qualifications like GCSEs, does not possess these academic credentials himself.

A former schoolmate has come forward, stating that Magaya, whose real name is Anyway Magaya, struggled academically and failed his O-Level examinations. According to this source, Magaya’s academic shortcomings parallel those of his colleague, Emmanuel Makandiwa, who has publicly admitted to having no O-Levels.

The source urges the public to verify Magaya’s academic background through official records, suggesting that his educational qualifications do not align with the narrative promoted by his supporters. This comes at a time when Magaya is advocating for changes in ZIFA’s constitution that could directly benefit individuals without formal education.

Further inquiries are advised to establish the full details surrounding Magaya’s educational history: There seems to be a curious pattern among certain figures who have made a mark in the public eye: a combination of name changes, flunking O-Levels, and questionable behavior. This peculiar correlation raises important questions about character and integrity.

Take Emmanuel Makandiwa, originally named Shingirai Chirume, for example. He not only abandoned his birth name but also openly boasts about his failure to pass his O-Levels. Yet, despite his academic shortcomings, he’s built a reputation on grandiose claims, including numerous false prophecies, all while proclaiming to speak on behalf of God. His pattern of name-changing and deception suggests a deeper, troubling narrative.

Similarly, the political activist Hopewell Chin’ono, who was once known as Hopewell Mukusha, also seems to fit this mold. Around 2001, shortly after his friend Joseph Mhaka was convicted of money laundering, Hopewell quietly altered his surname. His academic history tells another tale of deception. After failing to achieve the grades necessary to enter Marlborough High School, he manipulated the headmaster, Mr. Arison Chiware, by claiming athletic prowess he did not possess, promising to elevate the school’s basketball reputation.

Video: Kerina Exposes Hopewell Chin’ono as a fraudster Using Journalism To Cover Up Money Laundering

Ironically, the man who gave him that chance, Mr. Chiware, later became the first victim of Chin’ono’s harassment—a sign of things to come. His rise to prominence, marred by financial controversies and boasting of former employers’ failures, only deepens the sense of distrust surrounding him.

Hopewell Chin’ono Says Auditors Questioning His Suspicious Non-CABS Money Are Just Petty, And Terrible-Financial-Failures

Now, Walter Magaya enters the scene—a man whose real name is Anyway Magaya. He, too, has changed his name and, like Makandiwa, flunked his O-Levels. Today, Magaya seeks to alter ZIFA’s constitution, pushing for changes that would benefit individuals without formal education, a move that seems disturbingly self-serving.

The common thread running through these stories is not just the name changes or academic failures, but the unsettling dishonesty and manipulation that follow. Whether it’s false prophecies, financial deception, or attempts to rewrite the rules to suit personal agendas, each of these individuals paints a picture of opportunism that thrives on illusion rather than truth.

Another name that fits this troubling pattern is Mr. Raymond Makunde, a colleague of Hopewell Chin’ono. Makunde, like others in this strange circle, presents a history marked by deception and academic failure. He is known to possess two different IDs with conflicting dates of birth, raising immediate questions about his identity and integrity. This dual identity is just the beginning of a larger web of dishonesty.

BREAKING- Bishop Raymond Makunde Has Two Different Names.

Makunde, an academic failure himself, has misled the public into believing that he offers legitimate COS (Certificate of Sponsorship) papers, continuing a rampage of deceit that aligns with the behaviors of his peers. Like Hopewell Chin’ono, who manipulated his way into school through false promises of sportsmanship, and Emmanuel Makandiwa, who uses religious prophecies to mask his past, Makunde follows a familiar pattern: a blend of identity shifts, academic inadequacy, and public deception.

It seems that changing one’s name, falsifying credentials, and preying on the trust of others is a recurring theme among these individuals. Each name tells a similar story—an attempt to escape a past of failure through new identities and fabricated achievements. Whether it’s manipulating systems of power or the public’s belief, the end result is a corrosive influence that undermines trust and exposes the fragility of their moral compass.

With Magaya, Chin’ono, Makandiwa, and now Makunde, the pattern is clear: name changes, academic underachievement, and a penchant for dishonesty go hand in hand. These figures, once obscure and academically struggling, have used their newfound identities to deceive and manipulate the very institutions and communities they claim to serve.

Fire Destroys MSU Hostel in Zvishavane, As Mnangagwa Arrives

Zvishavane, Zimbabwe – 20 October 2024

By A Correspondent | ZimEye | A major fire has broken out at the Midlands State University (MSU) campus in Zvishavane, destroying the Diamond hostel and causing significant losses to student property. The incident, which occurred late on Saturday night, has left the university community reeling as students and authorities assess the damage.

The fire, which engulfed the building, was captured in images shared widely on social media, showing flames rising from the structure. The exact cause of the blaze has not yet been determined, and no official statement has been released by the university as of now. However, local student leaders have confirmed that the fire has caused the loss of several personal items belonging to students.

Emmanuel Devine Nyakudya, Secretary General of the Zimbabwe National Students Union (ZINASU) and a prominent student leader, broke the news on social media, expressing his concern over the incident. “In a very sad development, the Diamond hostel has just been on flames at the MSU Zvish Campus. Whilst we are still yet to get more information, fellow leaders on the campus have reliably informed us of the loss of different student properties due to this fire,” Nyakudya wrote.

This incident happened on the same night that President Emmerson Mnangagwa flew into the Zvishavane area for meetings in preparation for his trip to Bulawayo, adding an extra layer of intrigue to the already tense situation.

Emergency services were reportedly called to the scene, but by the time the fire was brought under control, much of the building had already been damaged. There are no reports yet of any injuries or fatalities, but students are anxiously waiting for further updates from the university administration regarding the next steps, particularly for those who have been displaced by the disaster.

The incident has sparked calls from student leaders and activists for the university to improve safety measures in its hostels, as this is not the first fire to have occurred on campus. Students are demanding a thorough investigation into the cause of the fire and compensation for the loss of their belongings.

Further updates are expected as investigations continue, and MSU authorities are likely to address the situation in the coming hours. Meanwhile, students affected by the fire are being urged to report any losses to the appropriate university offices for assistance.

This devastating event has cast a shadow over the MSU Zvishavane campus as the community rallies to support those affected.

Seasonal Driving Tips

Driving in rainy conditions can be challenging and dangerous if you’re not prepared. Here are some simple tips to help ensure your safety and that of others on the road when the skies open up.

  1. Slow Down

Rain can create slippery road conditions. Reducing your speed gives you more time to react to unexpected situations, such as hydroplaning or sudden stops. Aim to drive well below the speed limit if conditions are poor.

  1. Use Headlights Wisely

Turn on your headlights to improve visibility for yourself and other drivers. In many places, it’s required by law to use headlights during rain. Avoid using high beams, as they can reflect off the rain and create glare.

  1. Avoid Sudden Movements

Make smooth and gradual movements with the steering wheel, brakes, and accelerator. Sudden actions can lead to loss of traction and control, especially on wet surfaces.

  1. Beware of Hydroplaning

Hydroplaning occurs when your tires lose contact with the road and glide on a layer of water. If you begin to hydroplane, ease off the accelerator, steer gently in the direction you want to go, and avoid sudden braking.

  1. Check Your Tires

Before heading out, ensure your tires are in good condition with adequate tread depth. Properly inflated tires help maintain traction and reduce the risk of hydroplaning.

  1. Stay Focused and Avoid Distractions

Rain can require more concentration. Keep distractions to a minimum—put away your phone and avoid multitasking. Stay alert and watch for pedestrians, cyclists, and other vehicles.

  1. Know Your Wipers

Ensure your windshield wipers are in good working order. Replace worn wiper blades and use them appropriately to keep your visibility clear. If the rain gets heavy, it might be necessary to adjust the wiper speed.

  1. Be Cautious of Puddles

Avoid driving through puddles, as they can hide hazards like potholes or even deeper water that could cause your vehicle to stall. If you can’t avoid them, slow down significantly to minimize splashing and maintain control.

  1. Plan Your Route

If possible, choose routes that are less prone to flooding. Check weather forecasts and traffic conditions beforehand to avoid potentially dangerous areas.

Conclusion

Driving in the rain requires extra caution and preparation. By following these simple tips, you can improve your safety on the road and make your journey more enjoyable, even when the weather isn’t ideal. Always prioritize safety and stay aware of changing conditions.

History And Importance Of ZANU PF Conference | Mavaza

By Dr Masimba Mavaza | ZANU held its inaugural party congress in the Mkoba suburb of Gwelo from 21–23 May 1964. There, Ndabaningi Sithole was elected as the party’s first president, Leopold Takawira as vice-president, Robert Mugabe as secretary-general, Herbert Chitepo as national chairman, and Enos Nkala as treasurer.

But the first conference of ZANU was held in 1969 with Chitepo as Chairman.ZANU was formed 8 August 1963 when Ndabaningi Sithole, Henry Hamadziripi, Mukudzei Midzi, Herbert Chitepo, Edgar Tekere and Leopold Takawira decided to split from ZAPU the formation was commenced at the house of Enos Nkala in Highfield. The founders were dissatisfied with the militant tactics of Nkomo.
Every once a year political parties hold their annual conferences – gatherings of politicians, party members and affiliated groups.
For ZANUPF conferences are an opportunity to raise revenue, connect with their membership and attract media attention.
ZANU PF conference also have constitutional significance:
The Party’s rule book states that “the work of the Party shall be under the direction and control of Party conference. At ZANU PF’s conference, delegates from provinces affiliated groups and constituency parties put forward motions and vote on them, deciding the party’s platform and policy positions for the year.
Party conferences attract a wide array of people connected to and interested in the party. This includes party members, politicians, activists, journalists and representatives from think tanks, trade unions, charities and businesses.
In recent years, the ZANU PF Party conference has alternated between Provinces.
What is ZANU PF CONFERENCE?
Party conference is a multi-day events held once a year. They offer the party the opportunity to discuss important issues, raise revenue, connect with its membership, and attract media attention. Importantly for ZANU PF members, party conferences offer the chance for party members to debate and vote on party issues.
Party conferences are massive events, with hundreds of fringe sessions on a range of specialist topics, exhibitions and displays from large organisations, networking receptions and speeches from the party’s leadership.
In terms of who normally goes to party conferences, this can include media journalists, politicians, party members and representatives from think tanks, trade unions and membership organisations.
It must be stated that Party conferences are a great opportunity to connect and expand networks, learn about policy makers thinking on a variety of issues, advocate for your priorities and to keep informed on the latest developments in politics. ZANU PF is a democratic party and its democracy flows from the constitutionalist himself cde Mnangagwa.
ZANU PF is a Networking party and expanding networks: party conferences attract a wide range of attendees including business leaders. This audience creates an ideal environment for making new connections and sharing ideas.
Learn what policy makers are thinking: Conferences are a good way to meet with policy makers and understand their thinking on a variety of issues. events.
Party conferences are when all of ZANU PF HQ and its faithfuls are in one place. They feature keynote speeches from party leadership and panel discussions, and that delve into issues and upcoming legislative agendas. There are often policy announcements during party conferences that you will be the first to find out about.
In contrast to future developments, both parties drew from both the Shona and the Ndebele, the two major tribes of the country. Both ZANU and ZAPU formed political wings within the country (under those names) and military wings: the Zimbabwe African National Liberation Army (ZANLA) and the Zimbabwe People’s Revolutionary Army (ZIPRA) respectively to fight the struggle from neighbouring countries – ZANLA from Mozambique and Zambia, and ZIPRA from Zambia and Mozambique. The founding fathers of ZANU grew very impatient with the old way of politics playing at ZAPU. So ZANU was a militant organisation that fought against white minority rule in Rhodesia, formed as a split from the Zimbabwe African People’s Union ZANU founders had grown tired of the games being played by the colonisers who continued to plunder our wealth sharing amongst themselves. However ZANU had to split in 1975 into wings loyal to Robert Mugabe and Ndabaningi Sithole, later respectively called ZANU–PF and ZANU – Ndonga. These two sub-divisions ran separately at the 1980 general election, where ZANU-PF has been in power ever since, and ZANU – Ndonga a minor opposition party faded into History. Dare ReChimurenga was a Zanu War Council that led in the confrontation with the Rhodesian colonial regime as part of the Second Chimurenga. Dare ReChimurenga was initially led by Herbert Chitepo as chairman and Noel Mukono as Secretary of Defence. Dare ReChimurenga was created as a wing of the Zanu party soon after its formation in 1964.

Dare ReChimurenga has been likened to the modern day politburo in Zanu-PF. The Dare met regularly with the High Command. It’s role in the liberation war was to deal with administrative issues while High Command comprised commanders responsible for executing the war. Dare ReChimurenga would source materials for the war from all over the world. This Dare was like some central government outside Rhodesia.
Members
Members of the Dare reChimurenga elected at the biennial conferences and their portfolios. The Dare was expanded from four to eight members in 1969. At the 1971 review conference two people lost their positions and one resigned. Of those elected in 1971, four people were replaced at the 1973 conference and the military was represented for the first time when Tongogara came in. So from the formation of ZANU the conference was held once after every two years. Before the first conference of 1969
Herbert Chitepo led as Chairman. Cde Noel Mukono was the Defence Secretary Cde Henry Hamadziripi was the Secretary for finance he was a Zimbabwean politician, member of the Dare ReChimurenga, member and co-founder of ZANU. Hamadziripi was allegedly involved together with Joram Gumbo, Mukudzei, Joseph Chimurenga and Augustine Chihuri in the 1978 rebellion against the ZANU’s top leadership.

Hamadziripi and Mukudzei Midzi were jailed by Robert Mugabe in Mozambique in 1978 for rebelling against his leadership.Hamadziripi died a pauper and were denied burial at Zimbabwe National Heroes Acre. Secretary for Administration was cde Mukudzei Midzi.

1969 there was the first Biennial Review Conference Herbert Chitepo retained the Chairmanship while cde Noel Mukono took the Defence secretariat with Hamadziripi retaining the Finance position cde Mukudzei Midzi remained at Administration.
The conference agreed to extend the Dare and cde Nathan Shamuyarira was elected as External Affairs Secretary. Cde Taziana Mtizwa was elected publicity secretary with cde Stanley Parirewa as welfare and Social Affairs Secretary with Political affairs given to cde Simpson Mutambanengwe. In
1971 Biennial Review Conference cde Richard Hove was elected external affairs secretary replacing cde Shamuyarira. A new department of publicity was created and was headed by cde Washington Malianga. With the rest maintaining their positions.
In 1973 Biennial Review Conference Noel Mukono was elected to be in charge of External Affairs and Cde Kumbirai Kangai was elected to head Labour social services and welfare replacing cde Parirewa. Cde Rufaro Gumbo was elected Information and Publicity while cde John Mataure was elected secretary for Political affairs and cde Josiah Magama Tongogara landing on defence.
It has been alleged by some members of the Dare ReChimurenga that some leaders in Dare ReChimurenga were selling information to the Smith regime.

While DareRechimurenga was seized with the sellouts scandal cde Herbert Chitepo was murdered in Zambia.
After Herbert CHitepo’s assassination at his home in a car bomb in 1975 in Lusaka, Zambia, some Dare ReChimurenga Gumbo and Kangai were arrested by the Zambian government. Speculation was rife Kangai was involved in the murder of Chitepo, but Gumbo defended him. Later in an interview Gumbo said:
We were arrested by the Zambian government on March 18, 1975 over the murder of Chitepo but we put out a position that he was murdered by the Rhodesian forces. We were incarcerated in Zambia at Kabwe Maximum Prison which is just like Chikurubi Maximum Prison here. Kangai was not involved in the killing of Chitepo even though all of us were arrested; none of us was involved. There was nothing of that nature.

The Dare ReChimurenga would coordinate its activities with those who were in prison in Rhodesia using letters that were smuggled into the prisons. These prisoners would help with advice. In 1977 cde Robert Mugabe chaired the Zimbabwe African National Union (ZANU) group from 1975 to 1980 and led its successor political party, the ZANU – Patriotic Front (ZANU–PF), from 1980 to 2017. In 2017 Emerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa took over the reigns of the party and government.

Cde Mnangagwa was born in 1942 in Shabani, Southern Rhodesia, to a large Shona family. His parents were farmers, and in the 1950s he had to move with his family to Northern Rhodesia because of his father’s political activism. There, he became active in anti-colonial politics, and in 1963, he joined the newly-formed Zimbabwe African National Liberation Army, the militant wing of the Zimbabwe African National Union (ZANU), and returned to Rhodesia in 1964. Leading a group called the “Crocodile Gang”, he attacked white-owned farms in the Eastern Highlands.
In 1965, he bombed a train near Fort Victoria (now Masvingo) and was imprisoned for ten years, after which he was released and deported back to Northern Rhodesia, by then independent as Zambia. He then studied law at the University of Zambia and later at the University of London, and practiced as an attorney. He soon left legal private practice and went to Portuguese Mozambique to rejoin ZANU. There he was assigned to be Robert Mugabe’s assistant and bodyguard, accompanying him to the Lancaster House Agreement, which resulted in the recognised independence of Zimbabwe in 1980.

After independence, Mnangagwa held a series of senior Cabinet positions under Mugabe. From 1980 to 1988, he was the country’s first Minister of State Security, and oversaw the Central Intelligence Organisation. Mnangagwa was Minister of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs from 1989 to 2000 and then served as Speaker of the Parliament from 2000 to 2005, when he was demoted to Minister of Rural Housing . Mnangagwa served as Minister of Defence from 2009 until 2013, when he became Minister of Justice again. He was also appointed First Vice-President in 2014 and was widely considered to be a leading candidate to succeed Mugabe.
He secured his first full term as President in the July 2018 election with 50.8% of the vote.

Mnangagwa is nicknamed “Garwe” or “Ngwena”, which means “the crocodile” in the Shona language, initially because that was the name of the guerrilla group he founded, but later because of his political shrewdness.
This conference is the second conference cde Mnangagwa is to preside as the party president and First Secretary.

2024 Party Conference What To Look Out For?

By Dr Masimba Mavaza | Many people have always thought that conferences are useless. National conferences are usually so broad that not even 1% of the topics touches upon something relevant to you. Party conferences seem to be more focused on having resolutions incorporated into the conference, and eating a lot of food at night.Talks are either 1h long and long-winded, or 10 minutes pitches that don’t give you any useful information. It’s nice meeting people but that’s about it.
Whether it’s a warm glass of white wine or a curly sandwich, the delights of party conference season have never been culinary. But are party conferences, food and drink aside, worth the time and effort? Why should we bother? Do they really make a difference?

For public affairs and communications professionals, party conferences do continue to play an important role for many broad reasons.
For those who love their party it is obvious that, party conferences are the centre of politics. This is the time when parties frame their offering or set out new, or more fully formed policy positions. ZANU PF conferences are also a key formal part of the policy formulation process conference motions matter.
Again party conferences are a useful temperature test on how a party’s membership is feeling. Not something that can be viewed from TV images of conference speeches, but from attending fringe events, hearing what questions members are raising and what discussions are being made.
Often issues less important to the public at large can be a key focus for activists – issues that may later become party political priorities. At party conferences, everything is magnified – from minute policy differences, to personality clashes and perceived leadership challenges. Being there helps to understand how a party, and therefore its elected members, tick.
While some party leaders use the conference as a show off platform many party members benefit from the conference.
It should be mentioned that party conferences offer an opportunity to engage with elected members and parties more broadly. This matters at different stages of a political cycle – a new leader, a looming election, a party weakened post-election and desperate for ideas. In ZANU PF we do not choose leaders during conferences but during congress.
There are some showy Character’s who come to the conference to show off. This is normally seen when all sorts of cars are brought in a parade like manner. Some provincial leaders hold fringe events sponsoring a reception, or staffing a stand. This may be about profile, or it could be about leading and shaping a debate. Either way, party conferences offer opportunities beyond selfish endeavours.
It is a given bonus that party conferences offer a chance to increase your reach across new stakeholders and within new policy areas. Even the best laid meeting programmes are subject to the vagaries of political diaries, so for all conferences many people make friends and business partners. Sometimes a chat with a new face over a glass of wine or coffee can spark new ways of looking at things, a new coalition, more opportunities to come.
It is not a surprise that party members discuss business outside conference meetings.

It then follows that conferences help you to understand and benchmark. What organisations are operating in your space? How active are your competitors and partners? This of course feeds into another activity public affairs professionals love stakeholder mapping.

People have believed that this year’s conference is going to be explosive. Predictions in politics are hard. But party conferences will be pored over to judge three things – policies, personalities and vision. They are nit to settle scores or creating factions.
Party conferences throw up policies – the good, the bad, and the downright dangerous. Some more fully formed than others, and some with the totemic significance to move from party conference floor to the statute book.
As much as parties often like to make policies front and centre, personalities also matter. This may manifest itself as party division, as rival camps battle and potentially heal after a bruising contest.
The final judgement is around vision. It may be a fundamental discussion around what a party believes, on tax and public spending, on public ownership, on what they are for and what Zimbabwe they want to create.

During the conference ZANU PF will vie to put forward a compelling vision of the future that only they can deliver.

Although it’s hard to predict what this conference will bring, it’s safe to say that they will be significant in shaping the politics to come.
Those who are squeezing their hands in anticipation of fireworks will be disappointed.
The party has some people who think being divisive makes them strong.
The purpose of every party member is to consolidate the power of the president. The legacy of each and every president represents the effectiveness or lack of it of the whole party.
In ZANU PF we believe that ZANU is the people and the people are ZANU.
As we march in this year’s annual Conference we must remember that ZANU iwe neni tine basa.

Nelson Chamisa Condemns Environmental Destruction by Zanu PF Regime

By Tinashe Sambiri

Opposition leader Advocate Nelson Chamisa has voiced his deep concern over the environmental degradation caused by the Zanu PF regime.

As Zim Eye reveals!

By A Correspondent | ZimEye | A political storm is brewing in Zimbabwe after explosive allegations surfaced against businessman Wicknell Chivayo, who is accused of manufacturing political regalia as part of a plot to destabilize Vice President Constantino Chiwenga.

The accusations have thrust the country into a state of political uncertainty, with commentators predicting further chaos within the ruling ZANU-PF party.

Columnist and opinionator Kerina Mujati stirred controversy after she publicly accused Chivayo of printing the clothing—T-shirts, caps, and other items—bearing Chiwenga’s name and imagery.

According to Mujati, this was done in a clandestine attempt to suggest that Chiwenga is preparing to challenge President Emmerson Mnangagwa for power ahead of the next ZANU-PF elective congress.

Mujati’s allegations have sparked widespread speculation within Zimbabwe, particularly as tensions within ZANU-PF have been simmering since the controversial 2023 general elections, which many claim were marred by irregularities. As the country prepares for its upcoming ZANU-PF conference, the release of the regalia has deepened suspicions of a brewing power struggle between factions loyal to Mnangagwa and those rallying behind Chiwenga.

Adding to the intrigue, reports circulated that President Mnangagwa flew to his rural home in Zvishavane without any official announcement, prompting rumors of internal discussions or damage control within the top echelons of the party. Chiwenga, meanwhile, has been conspicuously absent from public appearances, leading to speculation that he may be laying low due to fears of a political maneuver against him.

In response to the escalating allegations, Dr. Masimba Mavaza, a prominent ZANU-PF member, dismissed the claims as “nonsense,” calling them a smear campaign designed to create divisions within the party. “ZANU-PF is united and strong,” Mavaza insisted during a heated broadcast debate on ZimEye. “This regalia was not authorized by Vice President Chiwenga, and he is not involved in any plot to seize power.”

Despite these reassurances, many observers believe the situation is a symptom of deeper factionalism within ZANU-PF. The party has historically been plagued by infighting, with several high-profile figures vying for influence in Zimbabwe’s volatile political landscape. The recent coup in 2017 that ousted long-serving leader Robert Mugabe remains fresh in the minds of many, and there are concerns that the current tensions could lead to a similar outcome.

The regalia controversy has ignited fears that Zimbabwe may be heading toward another period of political unrest, as the symbolism associated with such clothing in Zimbabwean politics has often signaled deeper rifts or pending leadership shifts. The circulation of the items bearing Chiwenga’s name has been interpreted by some as an attempt to sow discord within ZANU-PF, while others see it as a signal of Chiwenga’s potential aspirations for higher office.

As the ZANU-PF conference approaches, the stakes are high. The party, which has ruled Zimbabwe since independence in 1980, faces mounting pressure both internally and externally. With rumors of factional splits and leadership challenges swirling, the next few weeks may prove critical in determining the future direction of the nation.

For now, Zimbabweans are left anxiously watching as their leaders engage in a dangerous game of political brinkmanship. Many are hoping that cooler heads will prevail, but the signs of a looming crisis are becoming harder to ignore.- ZimEye

VP Chiwenga-Death Regalia Surfaces

Chaos Erupts as Chiwenga-Death Regalia Surfaces: Allegations Against Businessman Wicknell Chivayo Stir Controversy

By A Correspondent | ZimEye | Zimbabwe was thrown into political chaos on Saturday night after ZANU-PF party members began circulating regalia—T-shirts and caps—bearing the inscription “Gudoguru,” a label that was notably used when the late General Perence Shiri was found dead under suspicious circumstances during the COVID-19 pandemic. The controversial clothing, branded with imagery associated with Vice President Constantino Chiwenga, has raised alarms about potential internal sabotage and deepening divisions within the ruling party. (see video below)

Columnist and outspoken critic Kerina Mujati quickly pointed fingers at businessman Wicknell Chivayo, accusing him of orchestrating the printing of the regalia as part of a sinister plot to entrap Chiwenga. According to Mujati, the circulation of the clothing suggests that forces within ZANU-PF are attempting to frame Chiwenga as plotting to overthrow President Emmerson Mnangagwa, using tactics reminiscent of those employed when Shiri was found dead. Chivayo, when approached, did not immediately respond to the allegations.

The distribution of the so-called “Chiwenga-Death” regalia has created a wave of speculation within Zimbabwe, with many interpreting the “Gudoguru” label as a bad omen. The use of the same label associated with the untimely death of Shiri has fueled concerns that Chiwenga may be the target of a political trap or an internal plot within ZANU-PF, potentially signaling a looming power struggle.

The timing of the regalia’s appearance—just ahead of a ZANU-PF conference—has heightened tensions, with various factions reportedly positioning themselves for influence. Vice President Chiwenga, who played a key role in the military intervention that ousted former President Robert Mugabe in 2017, has long been seen as a potential challenger to Mnangagwa’s leadership. The sudden appearance of the death-linked regalia has raised fears that Chiwenga’s life or political future may be in danger.

Political observers have drawn parallels to the events surrounding General Perence Shiri’s death, which remains shrouded in mystery. Shiri, a close ally of Chiwenga, was found dead in July 2020, with some suggesting foul play. The reuse of the “Gudoguru” label—one that was associated with Shiri’s demise—has amplified speculation that Chiwenga is being set up in a similar manner.

Dr. Masimba Mavaza, a ZANU-PF member and contributor, downplayed the allegations during a heated discussion on ZimEye, dismissing the regalia as the work of “mischievous elements” seeking to divide the party. “This is a desperate attempt to cause chaos within ZANU-PF,” Mavaza said. “Vice President Chiwenga has nothing to do with this so-called regalia, and Wicknell Chivayo is not behind it. This is simply another example of people trying to stir up trouble where there is none.”

Somewhat confirming Mavaza’s allegations, clearing Chivayo, the businessman was still to comment at the time of writing.

Despite Mavaza’s dismissal, however many within Zimbabwe remain skeptical, particularly given ZANU-PF’s history of internal power struggles and factionalism. The regalia incident comes at a critical moment for the party, with many suggesting this questions the stability of its leadership as Zimbabwe continues to grapple with economic hardship and political unrest.

Chivayo, a well-known businessman with close ties to top political figures, has yet to comment on the accusations. His silence has only fueled further speculation, with many wondering whether the regalia’s appearance was part of a larger scheme to shift the balance of power within ZANU-PF.

As the situation continues to unfold, Zimbabweans are left wondering whether the chaos surrounding the Chiwenga-Death regalia is a prelude to more significant upheaval within the country’s political landscape. With the ZANU-PF conference looming and tensions mounting, the nation watches anxiously for the next twist in this unfolding political drama.

Zimbabwe Govt Confirms Role in Botswana’s Electoral Process

By Farai D Hove | ZimEye | Harare, Zimbabwe — Zimbabwe government spokesman Nick Mangwana has confirmed that Zimbabwe is involved in assisting the electoral processes of neighboring Botswana. In a recent statement via social media, Mangwana addressed growing speculations surrounding Zimbabwe’s role in regional politics and its influence on leadership transitions in neighboring countries.

Govt spokesman…Nick Mangwana

Mangwana said that Zimbabwe participates in regional elections only under the Southern African Development Community (SADC) framework or in collaboration with allied political organizations. He emphasized that while Zimbabwe holds significant influence and provides leadership in the region, the notion that the country directly determines electoral outcomes in the region is “preposterous.”

“Zimbabwe works with any government democratically elected into office in the region,” Mangwana said, suggesting that their involvement is purely in observation or advisory capacities, refuting allegations that Zimbabwe dictates who governs in Botswana or other regional states.

In his statement, Mangwana also called on political parties in the region to focus on winning the mandate of their own electorate and to avoid externalizing their failures. He added that Zimbabwe has its sympathies with certain parties but stressed that it does not have any “dog in the fight.”

This statement comes amidst increasing scrutiny on Zimbabwe’s role in Southern African politics, particularly as Botswana prepares for future elections. Mangwana’s response seeks to quell allegations of external interference, while reaffirming Zimbabwe’s commitment to regional democratic processes.

The announcement follows a wave of political activity in the region, further fueling speculation on Zimbabwe’s involvement in shaping the political landscape of its neighbors.

In the Heart of Bulawayo: The Legacy of Rose Nyathi, Advocate for the Voiceless

Shelton Mahlangu Muchena in England| In the bustling heart of Bulawayo, where the vibrant colours of the veritable market danced with the aromas of traditional cuisine, Rose Nyathi stood as a beacon of hope for many.

Known for her radiant smile and fierce advocacy for the Mthwakazi family, Rose embodied the spirit of resilience and community. With her unwavering commitment to social justice, she fought tirelessly for the rights of those who often found their voices drowned out in the chaos of everyday life.

Rose’s days were spent among the stalls of the market, where she engaged with vendors and customers alike. She listened to their stories, their struggles, and their dreams, always encouraging them to speak up and stand tall against injustice.

Whether it was negotiating fair prices for farmers or organizing community meetings, Rose was a constant presence, her laughter ringing through the air like music. Her passion for the Mthwakazi cause was not just a mission; it was a calling.

But it was not just her activism that made Rose a beloved figure. Her affection for the local musician, Freddie Gwala, was the stuff of legend. In the evenings, she could often be found at the local tavern, swaying to his soulful melodies, her heart entwined with the rhythm of the music. Friends would tease her about her crush, but Rose wore it with pride, often quipping, “If Freddie can sing with such passion, then surely I can fight for my people with equal fervor”

Tragically, Rose’s life was cut short when she succumbed to an illness that had long plagued her. The news of her passing sent shockwaves through the community. On the day of her funeral, the market was eerily quiet, a stark contrast to the vibrant atmosphere she had cultivated. Mourners gathered to pay their respects, sharing stories of how Rose had touched their lives. They spoke of her warmth, her fierce spirit, and her unyielding determination to uplift the marginalized.

As the sun set, casting a golden hue over Bulawayo, a group of local musicians gathered to honour her memory. They played Freddie Gwala’s songs, the melodies intertwining with the tears of those who remembered her laughter and the impact she had made. In that moment, it felt as though Rose was still with them, her voice echoing through the market, urging them to continue the fight for justice and community.

Her legacy lived on in the hearts of those she had inspired. The Mthwakazi family vowed to carry forward her mission, ensuring that her spirit would forever resonate in the bustling markets of Bulawayo. Rose Nyathi, the socialite and activist, became not just a memory but a symbol of hope, reminding all that one voice can indeed ignite a revolution.

Tshabangu Threatens To Uproot CCC Malcontents

By A Correspondent

In a bold statement aimed at restoring the integrity of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), controversial interim Secretary General Senator Sengezo Tshabangu has declared his intention to rid the party of “malcontents.” This declaration reflects his purported commitment to revitalizing the beleaguered opposition party, which has faced significant challenges in recent times.

However, Tshabangu’s leadership is not without scrutiny.

Many observers view him as a protégé of Zanu PF, raising questions about his true intentions and the potential for undermining the CCC’s opposition stance. His close ties to the ruling party have fueled speculation about his ability to genuinely drive reform and unity within the CCC.

On Wednesday, Tshabangu took to X, asserting, “The ball is in our hands. We’ll make sure that we drive the opposition back to its glory days where everything was done transparently in the eyes of the masses.”

His statement underscores a clear message: transparency and accountability are non-negotiable pillars for the party’s future. Yet, critics argue that his background may complicate these claims.

Tshabangu emphasized the importance of unity and discipline within the party, adding, “Nothing will deter us from achieving that super goal.” This insistence on a united front reflects a desire to counteract the fractures that have plagued the CCC.

The controversial senator further noted the necessity of addressing internal discord, stating, “We’ll also fish out all negative elements unless if they shape up.” This remark indicates a proactive approach to internal challenges but also raises concerns about how he defines “negative elements” and the implications for dissent within the party.

As Tshabangu navigates this complex landscape, the CCC faces a critical moment.

His ability to balance his perceived Zanu PF connections with the need for genuine opposition may ultimately determine the party’s trajectory and its ability to regain the trust of its supporters.

Zanu PF Rigging Tactics Exposed

By A Correspondent

Former Botswana President Ian Khama has launched a scathing attack on Zimbabwe’s ruling party, ZANU PF, labelling it a “regional cancer” that undermines democracy across Southern Africa.

Speaking at a recent rally in Botswana, Khama accused ZANU PF of meddling in the electoral processes of neighboring countries, particularly regarding the upcoming presidential elections in Botswana, scheduled for October 30, 2024.

He stated, “ZANU PF has sent its agents to rig the elections in Botswana, directly interfering in our democratic processes.”

Khama’s comments highlight growing concerns about ZANU PF’s influence in the region.

He specifically mentioned that agents from the party are working to manipulate the electoral outcome in favor of President Mokgweetsi Masisi. This assertion contributes to a pattern of accusations against ZANU PF concerning electoral interference in other nations.

His assertions underscore a narrative of widespread electoral malpractice that raises alarms about regional democracy.

Echoing Khama’s sentiments, former Zengeza legislator Job Sikhala expressed concerns about the ramifications of ZANU PF’s actions on the perception of Zimbabweans abroad.

He criticized the party for its hypocrisy, stating, “As Zimbabweans, we risk being hated everywhere in the region because of a stinking party that loves to interfere in the domestic affairs of other countries.”

He pointed out the irony in ZANU PF’s stance, adding, “They are the loudest to cry against interference in our own country while practicing the same in other nations.”

Sikhala’s remarks resonated with many who fear that ZANU PF’s disruptive actions could breed animosity towards Zimbabweans living in these nations.

He likened the party’s activities to those of “countries sponsoring terrorism,” arguing that ZANU PF’s manipulation of foreign elections poses risks not just to political stability but also to the safety of Zimbabweans abroad.

In response to these grave accusations, a senior ZANU PF official dismissed claims of electoral interference in Botswana as “false.”

The party’s spokesperson, Chris Mutsvangwa, was not available for immediate comment, leaving the party’s official stance on the matter unclear.

The allegations against ZANU PF highlight a broader trend of concern among regional leaders about the party’s increasing influence and its potential to disrupt democratic processes throughout Southern Africa.

As the political landscape continues to evolve, the ramifications of these claims could shape not only the upcoming elections but also the future of regional diplomacy and cooperation.

ZANU PF Descends Into Chaos as ED-Chiwenga Allegations Threaten Stability

What is a term insurance plan?

Term insurance is a type of life insurance offered by the insurance companies. As the name suggests, this investment insurance plan is designed to cover life for a set period. If the insured passes away during the policy term, the sum assured is paid to the nominee, and the contract concludes. On the other hand, if the policyholder outlives the policy tenure, then no payment is made to the insured; since the term insurance plan is designed to only cover life and is not designed as a saving instrument, term insurance is a very cost-effective insurance tool. The term insurance plan allows the investor to purchase the policy as per their financial needs allowing them to choose the policy tenure, sum assured, etc. Term insurance benefits are larger than being just a mere insurance tool.

Why purchase a 1 crore term insurance?

1 crore term insurance benefits are many. The policy aims to ensure financial stability for loved ones in case of the insured’s death, helping them maintain financial independence. On the other hand, the insured has peace of mind as they receive insurance coverage for a specified time and in the event of untimely death, they know they have made their loved ones financially secure. The sum assured the beneficiary shall receive will cover the lost income and help them to cover their financial liabilities and future expenses. Determining the right amount is always the tricky part of investing in an insurance product; therefore, there are term insurance calculators that help to understand the premium. However, term insurance has a lower premium amount, and a minimum of 1 crore insurance is the need of the hour, considering the rising cost of living.

  1. High Coverage at Low Premiums

Term insurance provides substantial coverage at an affordable price. With a ₹1 crore life cover, you can ensure financial security for your family at a minimal premium. The premium stays fixed throughout the policy term, eliminating concerns about future increases. While affordability is a significant advantage, it’s crucial to evaluate the right coverage amount to fully protect your family’s needs.

  1. Family’s financial independence

By opting for a term insurance plan, you can ensure your family’s financial well-being in case of your untimely death. If you have outstanding loans or debts, the 1 crore payout can be used to settle them, ensuring that your family doesn’t face financial strain and inherits a debt-free legacy.

  1. Increased Protection with Add-Ons

You can boost your ₹1 crore term insurance with riders such as critical illness cover or accidental death benefits. These add-ons provide additional protection, ensuring greater financial security for your family in case of unexpected events.

  1. Achieving Future Financial Goals

A term insurance payout provides a solid financial cushion that your family can use to meet long-term goals. Whether it’s funding your child’s education or ensuring a comfortable retirement for your spouse, the insurance amount can help them achieve these objectives.

  1. Maximising Tax Benefits

Premiums paid for term insurance qualify for tax deductions under Section 80C of the Income Tax Act, allowing you to save on taxes while ensuring your family’s financial security.

Factors to consider while purchasing a 1 crore term insurance plan

Buying a 1 crore term insurance plan needs careful consideration of the following factors.

  1. Coverage Amount:
The coverage amount is the amount that shall be paid to the beneficiary in the event of the death of the insured. Therefore, while deciding the amount ensure to take into consideration existing loans, future expenses, and future lifestyle needs. Opt for an amount that will satisfy the future financial needs of the beneficiary to help them navigate financially without any stress.
  1. Policy Tenure:
Choose the tenure of the term insurance plan in such a manner that it helps cover the important milestones of life like the education of children, housing loans, etc. It’s ideal to opt for policy tenure that covers these important milestones.

  2. Premium Amount:
Purchasing a term insurance plan means paying the premium amount at regular intervals therefore ensure to purchase the coverage that has a premium amount that fits your budget conveniently. Align your financial planning with financial goals.

  3. Riders:
It is best to enhance your term insurance with riders that make the insurance coverage robust. Riders with critical illness or accidental death offer additional financial protection as per the terms and conditions of the term insurance plan.

  4. Claim settlement ratio:
While deciding on the insurance plan be sure to look into the claim settlement ratio of the insurance company. A higher claim settlement ratio ensures that the claims are honoured by the insurance company.

Conclusion

A 1 crore term insurance policy is essential for ensuring your family’s financial security in your permanent absence. It allows your loved ones to continue pursuing their dreams, such as completing their education, getting married, travelling, and being prepared for any emergencies. Providing this financial safety net is one of the most significant ways to show love and care.

How To Juggle Work and Play as a Busy Student

For many students, finding the perfect balance between academics, work, and personal time can feel like an elusive goal. Navigating the demands of a rigorous academic schedule while also making room for relaxation and social activities is a skill that requires deliberate strategy and commitment. Moreover, maintaining this balance is crucial not only for academic success but also for personal well-being. Keep reading for insights on how to master the art of juggling work and play as a busy student.

Balancing Academic Responsibilities with Personal Time

Balancing academic responsibilities with personal time is essential for students striving for success. By breaking down tasks and scheduling dedicated study sessions, students can enhance focus without risking burnout. Creating routines, like setting time for relaxation or hobbies, helps prevent academic pressures from overwhelming personal life. Even small steps, such as using audiobooks while working out, can make both studying and downtime more enjoyable and efficient.

It’s important for students to recognize that consistent breaks boost productivity. Taking time for hobbies, socializing, or simply unwinding helps maintain motivation and mental clarity. Setting boundaries—like turning off notifications—ensures study sessions remain effective, while free online casino with real money games or other leisure activities can offer the refreshing breaks needed to return to studies with renewed focus.

Effective Time Management Strategies for Students

Time management is crucial for student success. Students should create a realistic schedule based on their priorities, using tools like planners and calendars to break down the semester into weeks and days. Setting goals, whether short-term or long-term, provides direction and motivation. Saying ‘no’ to unnecessary commitments saves hours for more critical tasks.

The Pomodoro Technique, which involves focused intervals followed by brief breaks, enhances concentration and prevents burnout. This method helps maintain a steady workflow without feeling overwhelmed. Regular reflection on strategies helps refine strategies and adapt to personal productivity patterns. This continuous improvement leads to more room for academic excellence and leisure activities.

Prioritizing Tasks and Activities to Maximize Productivity

Prioritization is crucial for effective time management, and students should use the Eisenhower Matrix to identify urgent and less important tasks. Treating everything equally as urgent can lead to stress and decreased quality. Focus on key assignments and tests that significantly impact grades, while delegating less critical tasks.

Prioritizing personal needs and mental well-being is essential, such as getting enough sleep, exercising regularly, and maintaining healthy eating habits. Being strategic with downtime is also crucial, with quality leisure time being enjoyed with friends or engaging in activities that recharge the mind. Choosing activities that provide a meaningful break from academics can be more restorative and enjoyable in the long run.

The Role of Downtime and Leisure in Maintaining Mental Health

Downtime is crucial for students, especially those exposed to academic stress. It helps maintain mental health and prevents burnout by fostering a balance between studies and life’s pleasures. Engaging in hobbies and activities unrelated to academic work can act as a mental reset, providing students with a fresh perspective upon returning.

Social activities and maintaining relationships are essential for emotional support and a positive outlook on life and studies. Downtime should not be confused with procrastination. Students should stick to a predetermined schedule for both work and play, setting aside time for relaxation as intentional as scheduling study sessions. Participating in leisure activities with awareness and moderation is essential, as spending time on social media is not as restorative as engaging in creative activities.

Leveraging Technology to Streamline Work and Enhance Leisure Moments

Technology is a powerful asset for students striving to balance studies and relaxation. By using educational apps and productivity tools, students can streamline their academic tasks, track progress, and engage in collaborative projects, making learning both efficient and engaging. Digital resources like tutorials and interactive content also support personalized learning, allowing students to study at their own pace.

For leisure, technology brings entertainment options like music, movies, and virtual worlds right to their fingertips. From academic pursuits to downtime, tech can enrich student life—whether it’s through accessible resources or online programs like a masters education leadership, offering future career pathways without interrupting current studies.

Altogether, the journey of a student is not just about the destination – grades and degrees – but also about how one navigates the path. It’s striking a harmony between diligence in academic pursuits and indulgence in personal interests that creates a fulfilling and sustainable student life. With the right strategies, students can excel in their studies while enjoying well-deserved leisure, safeguarding their mental health, and carving out a rich college experience.

About Driving in the Rain

Zanu PF Sends Agents To Rig Botswana Polls?

Burning Spear vs Winky D, People Speak

Burning Spear’s Harare Show Leaves Fans Raving About His Style, Sparking Comparisons with Winky D.

By Showbiz Reporter | ZimEye | Harare— Legendary reggae icon Burning Spear left the capital in awe during a powerful performance, which took place in front of a massive, highly energized crowd. As the veteran artist took to the stage, his distinct roots reggae style quickly resonated with the fans, leading to overwhelming praise on social media, with many declaring his music superior to local dancehall star Winky D’s.

The performance, which featured classic hits as well as newer tunes, captivated fans with Burning Spear’s commanding presence. Viewers took to social media platforms, posting videos and commenting in real-time, hailing the artist’s “mature music” and its deep connection with traditional African spiritual elements. One of the attendees, Tinashe Banhamombe, commented on Facebook, “Bless up the lion king… Welcome to the kingdom of Chaminuka,” referencing the ancestral spirit believed to watch over Zimbabwe.

Fans emphasized the contrast between Burning Spear’s seasoned, conscious reggae and the fast-paced, sometimes aggressive style of Zimdancehall, often associated with Winky D. Comments such as “Mature music for mature people” by Broom Mirielle Micrue echoed throughout the live feed, while others shared their sentiments about the deeper resonance they felt from Burning Spear’s performance compared to local dancehall acts. “True rasta,” another fan, Pasy P Phiri, declared, clearly aligned with the spiritual and cultural themes in the music.

Winky D, known as the “Gaffa,” has a massive following of his own, particularly among younger audiences who enjoy the energy of Zimdancehall. However, during this show, several viewers expressed that Burning Spear’s music offered something more profound. “Vanhu vakutofunga Gaffa havoo” (people are forgetting about Gaffa), noted one commenter, Jimmy Tinashe Kwenje, suggesting either how much the roots reggae legend had overshadowed local acts, or had actually underperformed.

Burning Spear’s enduring influence was celebrated even beyond Zimbabwe, with people tuning in from various parts of the world. A fan named Sevvsky Tasa, said to be ‘watching from Kingston, Jamaica,’ expressed appreciation for the reggae teacher from his homeland. This international connection only strengthened the admiration Zimbabweans felt toward the veteran performer.

Despite Winky D’s undeniable stature in Zimbabwe’s music scene, the immediate reactions during Burning Spear’s show signal that the older generation’s message-heavy, roots-based music still holds a powerful place in the hearts of Zimbabweans. Many attendees were particularly impressed by the spiritual and cultural resonance Burning Spear invoked. One commenter, Wesley Craig, summarized the mood perfectly with “Mature music mih seh.”

With Burning Spear’s performance leaving such a lasting impression, this latest comparison to Winky D’s fast-paced style has sparked debate, with fans of each artist standing firm in their opinions. One thing is clear, though: Harare was left buzzing from a show that will go down in the books as one of the most spiritually profound performances the city has seen in a while.

Fans continue to share their praise for Burning Spear, and for now, the reggae icon has reignited a conversation about the roots of Zimbabwe’s connection with reggae and spiritual music.

Kenyan Court Halts Deputy President Appointment Following Ruto’s Ally Selection

By A Correspondent

Kenyan President William Ruto appointed Interior Minister Kithure Kindiki as his new deputy on Friday, but the court has postponed Kindiki’s appointment until next week, when it will consider a case contesting Kindiki’s predecessor’s impeachment.

Legislators had already approved Kindiki’s appointment on Friday before the high court stepped in. It prolongs the East African nation’s political unrest, which began in June with large-scale demonstrations against unpopular tax increases.

It was the first time a Kenyan deputy president had been removed from office through impeachment when the Senate voted on Thursday to uphold the charges against Ruto’s former deputy, Rigathi Gachagua.

According to a ruling by the high court in the capital city of Nairobi, Kindiki’s appointment as deputy president and the Senate’s resolution sustaining Gachagua’s impeachment charges were put on hold until October 24, when a panel of judges chosen by the chief justice will discuss the matter.

Kindiki cannot take office until the case is heard, according to a second court order.

Five out of eleven charges, including flagrant constitutional violations and inciting ethnic hatred, led to Gachagua’s impeachment; he denied the charges and dismissed them as politically motivated.

Kindiki was named interior minister soon after the president took office in September 2022 and was a leading candidate to be Ruto’s running mate in that election.

The interior ministry includes oversight of the police. During the nationwide demonstrations earlier this year that demanded the repeal of a now-sheltered finance law and changes to combat corruption, rights organisations have accused the police of using excessive force.

Speaking to parliament in September, Kindiki claimed that the government did not carry out extrajudicial executions or kidnappings and that police followed the law.

Namibia Denies Chivayo’s Been Given Ballot Paper Printing Contract

By A Correspondent | Windhoek, Namibia — The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) has issued a firm denial against allegations linking Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo to the printing of Namibia’s ballot papers for the upcoming 2024 Presidential and National Assembly elections. In a media release dated October 18, 2024, the ECN strongly refuted claims of corruption related to the awarding of the ballot paper production contract.

Free money…Wicknell Chivayo

The contract, valued at N$6.26 million, was awarded to South African-based Ren-Form CC, a reputable firm with a solid track record in printing electoral materials for over 70 elections across the African continent. The ECN clarified that Ren-Form CC is not affiliated with Chivayo, who is controversially associated with corruption in Zimbabwe. According to the ECN, these allegations are part of a broader misinformation campaign intended to sow distrust in Namibia’s electoral process.

“The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) unequivocally refutes the malicious and baseless allegations being circulated regarding the award of the contract for the procurement of ballot papers for the November 2024 Presidential and National Assembly Elections,” the ECN stated. They further emphasized that “such unfounded claims are made to cast a shadow on the integrity of Namibia’s electoral system, which the Commission will not allow.”

The rebuttal follows concerns raised by Namibia’s Popular Democratic Movement (PDM), represented by legal firm Theunissen, Louw & Partners. In a letter addressed to the ECN, the PDM claimed that Chivayo, through his alleged ties to Ren-Form CC, could undermine the integrity of Namibia’s elections, citing his past involvement in Zimbabwe’s disputed 2023 elections. The letter stated, “It has come to our client’s attention that the controversial businessman, Wicknell Chivayo, is connected to the supplier, Ren-Form CC. Given the exploits of Mr. Chivayo and his alleged connections to corrupt dealings as reported in the media, our client is concerned that the integrity and credibility of the election process… would be undermined.”

However, the ECN responded directly to these concerns, reaffirming that Ren-Form CC is a South African company, completely independent from any Zimbabwean entities or individuals. They clarified, “Ren-Form CC is a South African company, not a Zimbabwean company, and boasts a solid track record of printing ballot papers for over 70 elections on the continent in the past 20 years.”

In response to the escalating allegations, the ECN emphasized that the procurement process was transparent and in full compliance with Namibia’s legal frameworks, noting that factors like “technical requirements, cost-effectiveness, reliability, and the ability to meet strict timelines” were key to the selection. The commission condemned the spread of misinformation, urging citizens and political actors to rely on credible sources as the country prepares for the November 2024 elections.

This comes amidst growing regional concerns over electoral interference, as Zimbabwe’s recent elections, in which Chivayo has been implicated, were condemned by the Southern African Development Community (SADC) for irregularities. However, the ECN insists that Namibia’s elections remain free and fair, dismissing any potential influence from external parties.

As the electoral season intensifies, the ECN reiterated its commitment to ensuring a transparent and credible election process, while firmly rejecting any baseless accusations intended to discredit their operations. “The Commission will not tolerate baseless accusations meant to discredit our work,” the ECN warned in its release, challenging any parties with concrete evidence of wrongdoing to “present it through the appropriate channels.”

With the election date drawing near, the ECN concluded by urging Namibians to remain vigilant, stating, “We urge all Namibians to remain vigilant and informed by relying on credible, verified information.”

As of now, no evidence has been presented to substantiate claims of corruption or irregularities regarding the appointment of Ren-Form CC.

Police Hunt for Rapist Revealed During Popular Tinashe Mugabe’s DNA Show

By A Correspondent

Supporters of the victim, who is now 19 years old, demanded justice in a public outcry.

Police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi stated in the statement released on Friday that the law will undoubtedly take its course.

“A video from the Tinashe Mugabe DNA Show episode that is making the rounds on social media claims that a 19-year-old woman was sexually assaulted by her 14-year-old uncle. The ZRP has taken notice of this.

Nyathi stated, “The ZRP reassures the public that allegations are being investigated so the law can take its course.”

The issue surfaced when the victim revealed to Mugabe that her uncle was the child’s purported father, who was only known as Peter.

As the victim described how her uncle had raped her when she was intoxicated and at her weakest, she was unable to contain her tears.

She also described how her father learnt that her child, now five years old, was the child of Peter, a close relative, and how her other uncles denied the abuse before seeking assistance recently.

It was also revealed to viewers that her mother knew but did nothing about it.

The victim has a second child and is now married.

When the uncle admitted, he said, “Yes ndakangomupindira mumagumbeze” (I did sneak into her blankets and rape her), and he treated it as stupidity.

ZANU PF Govt Shifts Mbare-Fire Blame To Security Guard

By A Correspondent | Harare – The ZANU PF government has deflected responsibility for the catastrophic fire that ravaged Mbare Musika Retail Market onto a lowly security guard, Action Chakauya, who appeared in court today charged with negligently causing the blaze. This development comes amidst damning allegations that the fire was part of a deliberate government strategy to clamp down on illegal currency trading in the capital.

Chakauya, a 35-year-old security guard, is accused of starting the fire while on duty by lighting a small blaze to keep warm. According to the court, the fire spiraled out of control, spreading to the market and gutting hundreds of stalls. The incident, which took place earlier this week, has left traders devastated, with many losing their livelihoods overnight. President Emmerson Mnangagwa declared the fire a national disaster and announced government assistance for affected vendors, with reconstruction efforts already underway.

However, leaked ZANU PF communications paint a different picture. In transcripts obtained by ZimEye, a senior ZANU PF official (MC) revealed that the fire was allegedly a government-orchestrated effort to curb illegal foreign currency exchanges at Mbare Market, which the administration blames for destabilizing the beleaguered ZiG currency.

“Protecting the ZiG at Any Cost”

According to the leaked conversation between MC and a local trader (FC), the ZANU PF leadership had discussed the illegal trading of foreign currency at Mbare, which was seen as a direct threat to the government’s control over the economy. MC disclosed that President Mnangagwa, referred to as “Mukuru” in the transcript, had explicitly instructed officials to “defend the ZiG currency at all costs.” The decision to destroy the market was framed as a necessary step to disrupt these illicit activities.

“The government cannot deny it,” MC told FC in the leaked exchange. “When the meeting was held last week, the belief was that Mbare was the hotspot where money was being exchanged. So, the government cannot help you on that matter.”

Traders Left in Ruin

The leaked conversations expose the callousness with which the ZANU PF leadership dismissed the massive financial losses suffered by traders. FC, a local vendor, reportedly lost USD 50,000 in inventory and funds stored at the market. Despite this, MC indicated that the government would not compensate traders, accusing them of contributing to the currency crisis through illegal exchanges and pyramid schemes.

“Expressing anger towards the government will only make things worse,” MC warned FC. “The President has made it clear that defending the ZiG is the priority.”

These revelations come as a shock to many, especially since the government had pledged support for traders in the aftermath of the fire. The admission that the blaze may have been an intentional act to safeguard the ZiG currency adds to the growing unease among Zimbabweans struggling under economic hardships.

A Government in Denial?

The Mnangagwa administration has yet to respond to the allegations that it orchestrated the fire. For now, all eyes remain on Action Chakauya, who has been cast as the scapegoat in this unfolding saga. Chakauya is set to appear in court again on October 21 for a bail hearing, but the larger question of who is truly responsible for the destruction of Mbare Musika remains unanswered.

As the government presses forward with rebuilding efforts, the leaked transcripts raise doubts about the official narrative, leading many to question whether the state is truly acting in the best interests of its citizens or merely protecting its own economic agenda.

This breaking news will no doubt ignite further debate as Zimbabweans grapple with the implications of a government seemingly willing to sacrifice the livelihoods of its people in the name of currency stability.

We Own Zimbabwe : Varakashi

By A Correspondent

In a surprising and controversial statement, the Zanu PF Varakashi, a group linked to the ruling party’s Operation Restore Legacy, has declared that Zimbabwe is the property of Zanu PF.

The declaration, made on social media on Thursday, has drawn widespread attention and criticism.

The post boldly stated, “Zimbabwe belongs to Zanu PF. Zanu PF ndiyo ine ma title deeds e Zimbabwe” (Zanu PF owns the title deeds to Zimbabwe).

This assertion has sparked outrage among opposition parties and civic groups, who view it as a blatant attempt to undermine national sovereignty and promote partisanship.

Critics argue that such claims reflect an ongoing narrative by Zanu PF that prioritizes party allegiance over national unity and democratic governance. Many are calling for a re-evaluation of the party’s influence on national affairs and an increased focus on inclusivity in Zimbabwe’s political landscape.

As the situation develops, observers are keenly watching for responses from both the government and the opposition, as well as the potential implications for Zimbabwe’s political climate.

Tshabangu Vows to Remove Negative Elements from Party

The Biochemistry of Fat Burners: How They Influence Metabolic Pathways

When it comes to shedding those extra pounds, fat burners often take center stage in conversations about weight loss. But what exactly are these supplements, and how do they work their magic within our bodies? Delving into the biochemistry of fat burners reveals a fascinating interplay of metabolic pathways that can significantly influence our ability to burn fat. Let’s unravel the science behind these popular aids and understand how they might help you on your weight loss journey.

Understanding the Basics: What Are Fat Burners?

Fat burners are dietary supplements designed to help increase fat metabolism, reduce fat absorption, or help the body burn more fat for fuel. They come in various forms, including pills, powders, and even energy drinks, each promising to boost your weight loss efforts. But beneath their commercial appeal lies a complex biochemical mechanism that interacts with our body’s metabolic processes.

At the core of fat burners’ effectiveness is their ability to influence how our body processes energy. Normally, our bodies use carbohydrates, fats, and proteins as sources of energy. However, fat burners aim to shift this balance, making fat a more prominent energy source. This shift is achieved by targeting specific enzymes and hormones that regulate metabolism. For instance, some fat burners contain ingredients like caffeine or green tea extract, which are known to stimulate the central nervous system. This stimulation increases heart rate and energy expenditure, leading to more calories burned throughout the day.

Moreover, certain fat burners work by inhibiting enzymes involved in fat storage. For example, compounds like forskolin and yohimbine have been shown to interfere with the body’s ability to store fat by blocking the enzymes that facilitate fat synthesis. By doing so, these supplements can potentially reduce the amount of fat stored in adipose tissues, making it easier for the body to utilize existing fat reserves for energy.

Another intriguing aspect of fat burners is their impact on appetite regulation. Some ingredients can influence neurotransmitters in the brain, leading to reduced feelings of hunger. This can result in lower calorie intake, further supporting weight loss efforts. It’s a delicate balance, though, as overuse or reliance on these supplements without proper diet and exercise can lead to unintended side effects.

In essence, fat burners are not magical pills but rather biochemical tools that can aid in weight loss when used correctly. They work by enhancing metabolic rates, inhibiting fat storage, and controlling appetite, all of which are crucial factors in reducing body fat. However, understanding their role and limitations is essential for anyone considering incorporating them into their weight loss regimen.

The Role of Thermogenesis in Fat Burning

One of the primary ways fat burners aid in weight loss is through the process of thermogenesis. Thermogenesis is the body’s way of generating heat, which in turn burns calories. This process is naturally occurring, but certain fat burners can enhance it, leading to an increase in the number of calories your body expends each day.

Caffeine is a common ingredient found in many fat burners precisely because of its thermogenic properties. When consumed, caffeine stimulates the central nervous system, increasing heart rate and metabolism. This heightened state of alertness not only helps you feel more energized but also pushes your body to burn more calories, even at rest. Green tea extract is another popular component known for its thermogenic effects, thanks to its high levels of catechins, which are antioxidants that promote fat oxidation.

But thermogenesis isn’t just about burning more calories; it’s also about how efficiently your body uses the energy it has. By increasing metabolic rate, your body becomes better at converting stored fat into usable energy. This means that during both exercise and everyday activities, your body is tapping into fat reserves more effectively, aiding in overall weight loss.

However, it’s important to note that the increase in thermogenesis from fat burners is often modest. While these supplements can give your metabolism a slight boost, they are not a substitute for a healthy diet and regular exercise. The real magic happens when fat burners are used in conjunction with lifestyle changes that support weight loss. For instance, incorporating strength training can complement the effects of thermogenesis by building muscle mass, which naturally increases resting metabolic rate.

Moreover, individual responses to thermogenic supplements can vary. Factors such as age, gender, and genetic makeup play a role in how effectively your body responds to these compounds. Some people may experience significant benefits, while others might see only minor changes. Additionally, over-reliance on thermogenic fat burners can lead to diminishing returns as the body adapts to the increased metabolic demands.

In summary, thermogenesis is a crucial pathway through which fat burners exert their effects. By enhancing the body’s natural ability to generate heat and burn calories, these supplements can support weight loss efforts. However, their efficacy is maximized when combined with other healthy lifestyle practices, ensuring a comprehensive approach to fat reduction.

Enhancing Lipolysis: Breaking Down Stored Fat

Another key biochemical pathway influenced by fat burners is lipolysis, the process by which the body breaks down stored fat into fatty acids and glycerol for energy use. Enhancing lipolysis is fundamental for reducing fat stores and achieving a leaner physique. Fat burners target this pathway through various mechanisms, often involving hormonal regulation and enzyme activation.

One way fat burners promote lipolysis is by increasing the levels of norepinephrine, a hormone that signals fat cells to release stored fat. Ingredients like green tea extract and synephrine are known to boost norepinephrine levels, thereby kickstarting the fat breakdown process. When norepinephrine binds to receptors on fat cells, it activates enzymes like hormone-sensitive lipase (HSL), which then catalyze the conversion of stored triglycerides into free fatty acids. These fatty acids are then transported to muscles and other tissues to be used as energy.

Additionally, certain fat burners contain compounds that inhibit the enzyme phosphodiesterase, which plays a role in regulating lipolysis. By blocking this enzyme, these supplements can prolong the action of hormones that promote fat breakdown, ensuring a more sustained release of fatty acids. This prolonged lipolytic activity means that your body continues to burn fat even after the initial stimulatory effect of the supplement has worn off.

Moreover, some fat burners influence insulin sensitivity, another critical factor in fat metabolism. Improved insulin sensitivity means that your body can better regulate blood sugar levels, reducing the likelihood of excess glucose being stored as fat. Ingredients like chromium and berberine are often included in fat burners for their ability to enhance insulin function, thereby supporting the overall lipolytic process.

It’s also worth mentioning the role of mitochondrial function in lipolysis. Mitochondria, the powerhouses of the cell, are responsible for energy production. Certain fat burners aim to enhance mitochondrial activity, increasing the efficiency of fatty acid oxidation. This means that the fatty acids released during lipolysis are more effectively converted into energy, rather than being re-esterified back into triglycerides.

However, enhancing lipolysis isn’t without its challenges. Excessive fat breakdown can lead to elevated levels of free fatty acids in the bloodstream, which may have adverse effects on liver function and cardiovascular health. Therefore, it’s crucial to approach fat burners with caution, ensuring that their use is balanced with adequate hydration and nutrient intake to support overall metabolic health.

In conclusion, enhancing lipolysis is a central mechanism by which fat burners facilitate fat loss. These supplements can help reduce fat reserves and support a leaner body composition by promoting the breakdown of stored fat into usable energy. Nevertheless, understanding the underlying biochemistry and maintaining a balanced approach to supplementation is essential for achieving safe and effective results.

Conclusion: Weighing the Biochemical Benefits and Considerations

Understanding the biochemistry of the best fat burner for belly fat for males reveals a complex and intriguing interplay of metabolic pathways that can significantly aid in weight loss. From enhancing thermogenesis and lipolysis to modulating appetite and energy balance, these supplements target various aspects of metabolism to support body fat reduction. The active ingredients in fat burners work synergistically to boost metabolic rates, promote fat breakdown, and control hunger, creating a conducive environment for weight loss.

However, it’s essential to approach fat burners with a balanced perspective. While they can be effective tools in the weight loss arsenal, they are not magic solutions. The body’s response to these supplements can vary based on individual factors such as genetics, age, and overall health. Additionally, the potential for side effects, especially with prolonged or excessive use, cannot be overlooked. Ingredients that stimulate the central nervous system, like caffeine, can lead to jitteriness, insomnia, or increased heart rate in some individuals.

Moreover, the efficacy of fat burners is often contingent upon their use alongside healthy lifestyle practices. Diet and exercise remain the cornerstones of any successful weight loss strategy. Fat burners can provide an extra boost, but without proper nutrition and regular physical activity, their impact may be limited. It’s also crucial to prioritize long-term health over quick fixes, ensuring that any supplementation supports sustainable weight management rather than temporary results.

Another consideration is the quality and regulation of fat burner supplements. The dietary supplement industry is not as tightly regulated as pharmaceuticals, leading to variations in product quality and efficacy. Consumers should exercise caution, opting for reputable brands that provide transparency about their ingredients and sourcing. Consulting with healthcare professionals before starting any supplement regimen is also advisable to ensure safety and appropriateness based on individual health profiles.

In conclusion, the biochemistry of fat burners offers promising avenues for enhancing weight loss efforts by targeting key metabolic pathways. When used responsibly and in conjunction with a healthy lifestyle, these supplements can support the journey toward a healthier, leaner body. However, it’s vital to remain informed, cautious, and committed to overall well-being, recognizing that sustainable weight loss is a multifaceted endeavor that extends beyond the influence of any single supplement.

10y Car Imports: Do’s and Don’ts for Returning Residents to Zimbabwe

| Part 1

Harare, Zimbabwe – October 18, 2024

By Business Reporter | As Zimbabwe lifts the restriction on the importation of vehicles over 10 years old, the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) has outlined several key regulations for returning residents. This is part of broader changes reflected in Statutory Instrument 172 of 2024, which also includes guidelines for special categories of vehicles like antiques and classics.

Shipping to Zimbabwe industry advice

However, returning residents must still comply with specific rules and procedures, as highlighted by experts in the shipping industry. Here are the critical do’s and don’ts to help returning residents navigate the process successfully:

Do’s

1. Ensure Your Returning Resident Status Is Approved

Living outside Zimbabwe for more than two years doesn’t automatically qualify you as a returning resident. You need to apply and be accepted to benefit from duty exemptions. If your application is denied, you’ll need to pay full import duties on vehicles and goods.
2. Comply with the Six-Month Vehicle Ownership Rule
To import a personal vehicle duty-free, you must have owned it for at least six months before clearing it in Zimbabwe. This is a strict requirement, especially for those importing vehicles over 10 years old.
3. Prepare Your Documents in Advance
Ensure that all necessary paperwork, including proof of vehicle ownership, shipping documentation, and required licenses for restricted items, is in order. Delays in preparing your documents can lead to fines or seizures of goods.
4. Research Import Licenses and Permits
Some items, such as firearms and pets, require special permits or police clearance to enter Zimbabwe. Ensure you have researched these requirements thoroughly before shipping.
5. Be Financially Prepared
Shipping goods back to Zimbabwe is not cheap. Factor in the full cost of shipping, potential taxes, and any unforeseen expenses to avoid being caught off guard by the financial implications of the move.
6. Use a Reputable Freight Forwarder
Engage an honest and reliable freight forwarding company to handle your shipments. They will guide you through the process and ensure your goods are delivered safely and on time.
7. Declare All Items Accurately
Failing to declare goods correctly can lead to fines or seizure of your items. Make sure everything being shipped is fully declared.
8. Be Flexible with Your Plans
Customs interviews and inspections can take longer than expected. Build flexibility into your timelines and be prepared for potential delays.

Don’ts

1. Don’t Assume Automatic Duty Exemptions

Simply because you have lived abroad for over two years does not mean you’ll automatically be exempt from paying duties. You must be granted returning resident status before you can take advantage of reduced taxes or exemptions.
2. Don’t Ignore the Special Requirements for Restricted Items
If you plan to import items like firearms or pets, don’t overlook the paperwork and clearances required. Failing to prepare these in advance could cause major delays or complications at the border.
3. Don’t Ship Without Understanding the Regulations on Personal Vehicles
Vehicles older than 10 years are now allowed for import, but returning residents must still meet the six-month ownership rule. Make sure you understand these regulations fully before arranging for shipping.
4. Don’t Rely on Verbal Promises from Shipping Agents
Always get agreements with freight forwarders or agents in writing. Verbal promises can lead to misunderstandings or disputes, especially when it comes to timelines or costs.
5. Don’t Expect Quick Customs Clearances
Customs processes can be slow, especially for those importing large amounts of household goods or vehicles. Prepare for inspections and interviews that may take longer than anticipated.

Industry Insight

Sharon William, of Shazz & Co Freight Forwarding Limited, shared her sentiments and essential advice for those relocating:

“When relocating to Zimbabwe, it’s crucial to understand that being granted returning resident status is not automatic. You must meet the eligibility criteria or risk having your application rejected, which could result in paying full import duties or the seizure of your goods.

Our best advice is to be financially prepared, ensure all paperwork is in order, and more importantly use a reputable freight forwarder to handle the process efficiently.”

Relocating can be a physically, mentally, emotionally and financially taxing exercise. Therefore, entrusting your valuable goods (some of sentimental value) with a reputable freight forwarder gives you the much-needed peace of mind at a time when your life is about to change.

‘I believe that the 6-8 weeks during which the goods are in transit should be spent tying up loose ends and preparing to receive the goods instead of constantly worrying if you will ever be reunited with your goods.’

The recent changes to vehicle import regulations in Zimbabwe present new opportunities for returning residents. Some had to delay their relocation plans as they waited for legal clarification on the Control of Goods (Import and Export) (Commerce) (Amendment) Regulations, 2024 (No. 13).

By following these dos and don’ts, and seeking advice from ZIMRA, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce Zimbabwe as well as experienced freight forwarders, returning residents can ensure a smooth relocation process, avoiding unnecessary delays, frustrations and costs.

Simple Tips for Driving in the Rain

Zimbabwe Now Allows Importation of Vehicles Over 10 Years Old

Harare, Zimbabwe – October 18, 2024

By Business Reporter | In a significant development for vehicle importers and returning residents, the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) has confirmed that vehicles over 10 years old are now officially allowed to be imported into the country. This change comes under new regulations announced today, bringing relief to those looking to import older vehicles.

However, while the restriction on the age of vehicles has been lifted, returning residents will still need to comply with the six-month ownership rule. This means that returning residents can only import vehicles they have owned for at least six months prior to returning to Zimbabwe.

The newly amended regulations, reflected in Statutory Instrument 172 of 2024, outline that certain categories of vehicles, including antique, classic, vintage, and historic vehicles over 25 years old, also qualify for exemption, provided they meet specific criteria related to design, originality, condition, rarity, and historical significance. These categories will still need clearance from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce before importation.

The amendment aims to broaden vehicle import options for Zimbabweans while maintaining certain controls, particularly for returning residents and special vehicle categories. More details are expected to be released in the coming days, as officials work on implementing the changes effectively.

This development follows ongoing discussions on the importation of vehicles and their impact on the local market, with government officials keen to ensure a balance between consumer access and economic considerations.

Stay tuned for more updates as this story develops.

Armed Robbers Raid Steel Company

By A Correspondent

In a disturbing trend of armed robberies, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has reported two significant incidents involving cash theft and violence in recent days.

On October 16, a cash-in-transit vehicle belonging to a private security company was targeted while transporting USD 20,000 from Beitbridge to Mutare.

According to the ZRP, “The crew offered a lift to two passengers at Lutumba Service Station Centre and Machiloni, Beitbridge.”

After dropping the passengers off at Rutenga and Ngundu, the crew discovered that “a metal box containing cash was missing” upon their arrival at Ngundu.

The situation escalated further in Belmont, Bulawayo, on October 15, where seven armed men raided a local steel company.

The robbers, armed with pistols, tied up two security guards and twelve workers using shoe laces. During the incident, one worker was struck on the head with a pick, highlighting the violence of the attack.

The assailants managed to escape with valuables, mobile phones, and a substantial sum of money, including USD 32,500 and R 300.

The ZRP is urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities as investigations continue into these alarming crimes.

Shock as Varakashi Claim Zimbabwe Belongs to Zanu PF

Herdsman Rapes Goat Until It Dies

By A Correspondent

A disturbing trend of bestiality continues to plague Esigodini, Matabeleland South province, with another shocking incident reported.

Nkosikhona Moyo, a 23-year-old married herdsman, was arrested for raping a goat belonging to Munyaradzi Marufu from Njuka Farm.

Moyo’s actions sparked outrage in the community after the complainant discovered the unconscious goat with signs of violent sexual assault.

Following footprints from the goat pen led to Moyo’s arrest.

He pleaded guilty to bestiality charges before Esigodini Magistrate Jeconia Prince Ncube and was fined US$150 or two months imprisonment.

Magistrate Ncube condemned Moyo’s “barbaric” conduct.

This incident comes just over a year after Mthandazo Ndlovu raped a goat to death in the same area.

Concerns about animal welfare and the need for stricter laws to protect animals from cruelty are growing.

TradersUnited Welcomes Novice and Expert Traders on New Platform CommuniTrade

Trader-led organization TradersUnited welcomes traders of all levels on CommuniTrade

CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICATradersUnited (TRU), a community-led organization, has developed CommuniTrade, an all-inclusive social media platform for traders. The new platform serves as an education hub, review portal, and community outlet. Traders of all levels can access credible trading insights, discuss market trends, review brokers, and seek community support.

CommuniTrade was created to connect people across different trading experiences, locations, and interests. According to TRU Regional Director-South Africa Lilebo Tibone, the platform accommodates both novice and experienced traders.

“CommuniTrade welcomes traders of different experience levels,” Tibone says. “For example, new traders will benefit from beginner-friendly tutorials, while advanced traders will benefit from expert market analysis and forums,” she adds.

Beginner-Friendly Features on CommuniTrade

The CommuniTrade platform boasts beginner-friendly features that streamline a novice trader’s learning experience.

Below are some of the features that beginners will benefit from on the CommuniTrade platform.

TradeGeek: Tutorials for Beginners

TradeGeek is an educational hub for traders that offers accessible, high-quality, up-to-date modules, webinars, educational videos, and other resources about the finance market.

For traders in their early learning phase, TradeGeek’s beginner courses will provide a strong foundation before they move on to more complex topics.

These courses cover the “what, when, why, and how” of trading. They efficiently discuss market and economy fundamentals, major currencies, and the basic operations of brokers and trading platforms.

After every module, members can complete a “Knowledge Check” – a short quiz to test what they’ve learned about the topic. The quizzes are not required to proceed to the next module but are a fun way to test how much traders have learned! Users can retake the test at any time.

Genuine Community Forum

The community forum is a space where traders can post their thoughts, share personal trading stories, and ask questions.

For beginners, this can mean seeking advice and getting real-time answers from other traders.

Novice trader Jonas Quintos says that CommuniTrade helped him eliminate hard-to-break rookie mistakes.

“Betting everything to say that TRU and CommuniTrade helped me eliminate all the rookie mistakes I used to have in me,” says Quintos from the Philippines. “So far, all the advice I’ve been given has proven helpful and helped me turn some would-be losses into profits,” the young trader concludes.

Beginner-Friendly Analysis on the Discussion Board

The Discussion Board is a subsection of CommuniTrade managed by TRU Community Managers. On it, users can find industry insights, market trends, and analysis.

Trading experts ensure a simple and concise writing style for the discussions posted here. New traders are encouraged to ask questions and engage, and TRU trading experts do their best to answer and clarify any hanging questions.

Organized Instruments Spaces

Trading instruments, such as Forex, Cryptocurrency, Commodities, Stocks, and Indices are organized into different spaces. Users can easily access posts and discussions on a specific instrument by clicking on their designated space.

This compartmentalization can help beginners focus on an instrument they are trying to learn, or explore different ones.

“A big problem for new traders is that they can get overwhelmed learning too many things at once,” says Tibone. “With Instruments Spaces, a trader can read and discuss an instrument they want to focus on, instead of jumping from one topic to the next,” she adds.

Travis

Travis is TRU’s Automated Virtual Support System. It is both a navigational and educational tool.

Travis helps new users navigate the platform’s website and helps novice traders identify problems in their learning. Users can ask Travis questions, define terms, and request suggested readings about a certain topic.

CommuniTrade for Expert Traders

Experienced traders know that trading is a solitary activity. However, that doesn’t discount the need for a community among traders.

CommuniTrade offers a vast array of features designed for professional traders.

Advanced Market Analysis & Insights on the Discussion Board

Managed by TRU Community Managers, content on the Discussion Board is posted by TRU trading experts.

Advanced traders can rely on updated industry insights and analysis on the Discussion Board and engage in stimulating discussion.

According to Tibone, the discussion board is meant to be thought-provoking and hone critical trading skills across different perspectives.

“[The Discussion Board] doesn’t just offer answers; it provokes questions that traders may not have thought to ask,” the Regional Director said.

Moreover, traders looking to expand their trading knowledge greatly benefit from the TRU Community Managers’ different backgrounds.

“Our TRU trading experts boast diverse expertise. Traders get insights on geopolitics, psychology, and even climate and how they affect the current market,” Tibone adds.

TRU Events Calendar

The TRU Event Calendar is a centralized events calendar managed by TRU Community Managers.

The calendar features trade-related events worldwide, such as Trade Expos and launches, exclusive invitations to webinars, live tutorials, and market watch.

“This convenient calendar keeps experienced traders in the know and can boost their international networks,” says Tibone.

Expert-level TradeGeek Lessons

Expert trading courses are designed for traders who want to improve their analysis and critical trading skills. Covering market Analysis, Fundamental Analysis, and Technical Analysis, these expert courses discuss in depth how to trade with a broader outlook.

“The expert courses are quite technical, and traders who are already following the market will highly benefit from it,” says Lilebo. “However, they are concise and simple, and hopefully encourage even beginner traders to learn these advanced concepts sooner than later,” she adds.

All features are available for free for members of TRU CommuniTrade.

Boxer Themba Gorimbo Reignites Feud with Winky D Fans, Repeats Controversial Mockery

By Showbiz Reporter | ZimEye | U.S.-based boxer Themba Gorimbo has once again stirred controversy by repeating his previous statement that sparked outrage among fans of popular Zimbabwean dancehall artist, Winky D. Gorimbo, who recently celebrated his latest victory, took to social media to make what appears to be a subtle jab at the musician.

Posting a picture of himself following his win, Gorimbo wrote, “Handisi kuganza. Internationally recognised artist ? Handisi kuganza,” repeating the words he used earlier this year to mock Winky D’s international status. The phrase, which translates to “I’m not dominating,” is widely seen as a sarcastic remark, downplaying Winky D’s influence on the global stage.

This latest post comes months after Gorimbo found himself in hot water with Winky D’s legion of fans in July. Back then, he boldly claimed that he was on a higher level than the musician, saying, “Vanhu moda kundi jairira, mungandifanandize na Winky? Winky is local and I am global. Pane musiyano. Kana mazogara moziva local and global difference. Compare Winky nana Pashi,” which translates to, “You people are disrespecting me, how can you compare me with Winky? Winky is local, and I am global. There’s a difference. Once you understand that, you’ll know the difference between local and global. Compare Winky with Pashi (another local figure).”

The MMA fighter’s comments caused an uproar, with Winky D’s fans flooding Gorimbo’s social media with backlash, forcing him to delete the post.

Following the backlash, Gorimbo issued a public apology, admitting that his comments were intended as a joke and not meant to disparage Winky D. In his apology, he said, “Guys, on the Winky D thing, I made a mistake and thought it was just a small joke. My intention wasn’t to put Winky down or think I was better.”

He went on to express his admiration for the artist, acknowledging the role Winky D’s music played in inspiring his own journey. “Nothing said was from a bad heart. I love Winky D myself. His songs inspired me for years to work hard. I have many of his songs that I love,” he added.

However, Gorimbo’s latest social media post suggests the fighter may not have completely let go of the earlier dispute. While some fans of the boxer interpreted his message as harmless banter, Winky D supporters were quick to point out that Gorimbo is once again courting controversy. Whether Gorimbo’s latest comments will ignite another wave of criticism remains to be seen, but it’s clear that tensions between the boxer and the Winky D fanbase remain unresolved.

This developing saga has reignited discussions on the often blurred lines between sports and entertainment, as well as the growing phenomenon of athletes using social media to express themselves, sometimes to the detriment of their public image.

Police Filmed Butchering A Motorist Who Refused To Pay A Bribe

By A Correspondent | Footage has emerged of two Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) officers allegedly assaulting a motorist for refusing to pay a bribe, raising serious concerns about police misconduct and abuse of authority in the country. The incident, which took place in Masvingo, has sparked widespread outrage and calls for a formal investigation.

In the video, the motorist, who remains unidentified, can be heard repeatedly pleading with the officers to take him to Masvingo Central Police Station. The man’s voice is clear as he questions the officers’ motives: “You won’t let me go because I refused to pay money?” Despite his request to be handled according to legal procedures, the officers continue to hold him down forcefully, attempting to handcuff him.

One of the onlookers at the scene questions the officers’ actions, saying, “There’s nowhere he can go, what’s the point of using handcuffs?” The motorist, still pinned down, echoes this sentiment, asking, “Where do you think I will go?” and firmly asserts, “I won’t give you any money.”

At one point in the footage, one of the officers tries to deescalate the situation by addressing the motorist in a seemingly calm manner, stating, “We will go, my friend,” but this does little to change the ongoing use of excessive force. As the altercation continues, the officer is seen applying significant pressure on the motorist’s neck, prompting distressing cries for help from the man, who says, “Stop pressing my neck.”

Despite his repeated pleas, the officers continue their actions. The motorist, clearly in pain, shouts again, “Stop crushing my neck, stop crushing my neck,” but his words are ignored as the officers persist with their aggressive conduct.

The video has since circulated on social media, prompting an outcry from the public and human rights advocates, who are calling for immediate action against the officers involved. Allegations of police corruption, including the solicitation of bribes, have been a long-standing issue in Zimbabwe, and this incident has reignited demands for reform within the ZRP.

Legal experts have noted that such actions could lead to both criminal charges against the officers and civil suits for damages if the motorist pursues legal action. Zimbabwean law mandates that police officers conduct arrests without the use of excessive force, and any allegations of assault or misconduct must be fully investigated.

At the time of reporting, the ZRP has yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident. However, there is growing pressure from civil society organizations and the legal community for a thorough investigation and for the officers to be held accountable under the law.

Major Major Blow For Timba Led CCC Faction

By A Correspondent| A High Court judge, Justice Faith Mushure, has dismissed an urgent application by the Jameson Timba-led Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) faction seeking to prevent a rival faction from receiving funds from the Political Parties’ Fund.

The faction aligned with interim secretary-general Sengezo Tshabangu is set to receive ZW$22,116,500, as part of the ZW$70 million allocated to political parties that participated in the August 2023 harmonised elections, according to a notice in the Government Gazette. Timba’s CCC faction had named several respondents in their application, including Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ziyambi Ziyambi, Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube, Tshabangu, and another CCC faction led by Welshman Ncube.

Justice Mushure ruled that the matter was not urgent, noting that the applicants had delayed in filing the application. She pointed out that the Timba faction had been aware since early 2023 that the Tshabangu faction would receive the funds but failed to act in a timely manner.

“There was undue delay and laxity on the part of the applicants in bringing this application to court,” Justice Mushure said in her judgment. She added that the Timba faction had known about the allocation since at least October 16, 2023, but took no steps to prevent the alleged harm.

The judge also criticized the applicants for failing to act with the urgency required for such a case. “An applicant is expected to have acted with the same urgency it wishes the matter to be given,” she said, emphasizing that they should have responded immediately instead of waiting.

The Timba-led CCC faction argued that without an urgent ruling, they would suffer irreparable harm, as there would be no way to recover the funds allocated to the Tshabangu faction. However, Justice Mushure dismissed these claims, stating that the applicants had not provided strong evidence to support their fears.

“They simply make bare allegations,” she said, adding that the Timba faction’s right to recover the money would still exist even if the case was not heard urgently. The judge concluded that the alleged irreparable harm was not sufficiently substantiated, and the application failed on this basis as well.

Chitungwiza Residents Confront Their Municipality Over Water Shortages

Chitungwiza residents have implored the local authority to immediately alleviate perennial water shortages, which have been plaguing the country’s largest dormitory town.

The residents, who are represented byChitungwiza Residents Trust (CHITREST), recently dispatched a letter of demand toChitungwiza Municipality, wherein they protested against the local authority’s conduct in putting the lives of several families and people in danger through violating their right to water and their right to live in a safe and healthy environment.

The protest by CHITREST came after Chitungwiza Mayor Rosaria Mangoma issued a press statement on 9 October 2024, indicating that ever since the closure of Prince Edward Water Treatment Plant, Chitungwiza Municipality has been receiving between one megalitre to three megalitres of water during weekends only against a daily demand of at least seventy five mega litres of water.

This dire situation had resulted in residents in all the 25 wards of Chitungwiza not receiving running and potable water with some residents resorting to fetching water from unsafe sources including shallow wells and potentially contaminated deep wells and boreholes thus exposing them to water borne diseases.

In the letter, which was writtento Chitungwiza Municipalityon 10 October 2024 by the residents association’s lawyers Tinashe Chinopfukutwa and Kelvin Kabaya of Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights, CHITRESTcomplained that the local authority’s failure to provide reasonably adequate running and potable water to the residents of Chitungwiza amounts to a violation of their right to safe, clean and potable water, which is guaranteed under section 77(a) of the Constitution.

Chinopfukutwa and Kabaya blamed Chitungwiza Municipality forfailing to take reasonable steps to ensure the progressive realisation of the right to safe, clean and potable water, saying the local authority had instead taken regressive steps, which militate against the enjoyment of the residents’ right to water.

The failure by Chitungwiza Municipality to provide reasonably adequate safe, potable, running water to Chitungwiza residents, the human rights lawyers said, exposes the dwellers to the risk of contracting diseases such as cholera and typhoid and amounts to a violation of their right to a safe and healthy environment, which is guaranteed under the provisions of section 73(1)(a) of the Constitution.

To alleviate the water woes faced by residents, CHITREST demanded that Chitungwiza Municipality should immediately provide clean water through bowsers throughout Chitungwiza on a daily basis and publish the times and places, where the water bowsers will be distributed.

Chitungwiza Municipality, CHITREST said, should supply and equip all boreholes with chlorine tablets or install chlorinators on all boreholes and furnish the residents association with its long term plan towards alleviating the perennial water problems in Chitungwiza and indicate steps taken in implementing the long term plan.

CHITREST said failure to comply with its demand would leave it with no option but to proceed with instituting legal action against the local authority to compel it to ease the unending water woes.

Discussing the Potential Health Risks of Various Agricultural Products

Agricultural products play a vital role in the global food supply, but their production and use involve potential health risks. Although these products are essential for feeding populations, some may have negative effects on human health due to their chemical properties or cultivation methods.

These risks can impact both consumers and agricultural workers. It’s critical to identify and comprehend these potential threats to make wise choices about exposure and security.

Educating yourself about the potential health effects of agricultural products can help reduce the risks involved. Ensuring proper safety measures and regulations is crucial for protecting public health.

The Paraquat Controversy

Paraquat is a widely used herbicide known for its effectiveness in controlling weeds and enhancing crop yields. The Guardian notes that it is also associated with severe health risks, primarily neurological disorders. Studies have linked Paraquat exposure to Parkinson’s disease, a progressive neurodegenerative condition that impairs movement and can significantly impact quality of life.

NIH notes that Paraquat is significantly more toxic than glyphosate, with a toxicity level 28 times higher. It is increasingly being used to replace glyphosate in some regions, but this shift raises concerns due to its severe health risks. Globally, Paraquat poisoning is a serious issue, with many fatalities resulting from accidental or intentional ingestion.

In response, there has been legal action taken against Paraquat manufacturers by individuals who have developed health issues, particularly Parkinson’s disease, due to exposure. The Paraquat lawsuit argues that the manufacturers failed to adequately warn users about the herbicide’s dangers or to implement necessary safety measures. Upcoming bellwether trials are expected to establish precedents for the many matters pending in court.

How are Paraquat MDL settlements determined for plaintiffs?

TorHoerman Law states that Paraquat MDL settlements are determined individually, unlike class action claims, which divide funds equally. Attorneys predict that each plaintiff might receive compensation for a Paraquat case worth anything from $20,000 to $1 million. This variation is a reflection of the particulars and circumstances of different situations.

The Risks Associated with Organophosphates

Organophosphates are a group of pesticides used to control pests on various crops. They act by blocking an enzyme that is necessary for nerve function but it may be dangerous to people. Long-term exposure to organophosphates has been connected to respiratory troubles, neurological diseases, and other health concerns.

NIH mentions that the death rates from organophosphate pesticides range from 2% to 25%. Dichlorvos, malathion, fenitrothion, and trichlorfon are the most lethal of all. The primary cause of mortality from these toxic exposures is respiratory failure.

Furthermore, the impact of organophosphates on health extends beyond immediate symptoms. Even low-level exposure can lead to long-term health problems, including cognitive decline and developmental issues in children. Farmworkers who handle these pesticides regularly are at higher risk, as are those living near agricultural areas where organophosphates are applied.

How do organophosphates enter the human body?

These chemicals can enter the human body through skin contact, inhalation, or ingestion of treated produce. Due to the potential risks to their health, both farmers and consumers should use protective gear and follow safety procedures to avoid negative impacts.

The Health Implications of Carbamates

ScienceDirect highlights that pesticides were first made from plant extracts until synthetic alternatives such as DDT became accessible in the late 1940s. These early organo-chloro insecticides were persistent in the environment and non-biodegradable.

This initiated research into safer alternatives that were effective against pests but less damaging to humans and the environment. As a result, new pesticides were created, including carbamate insecticides.

Carbamates are a kind of pesticide that protects crops against insects. They function by disrupting the nervous system of insects, but their mechanism of action can also pose risks to human health. Numerous health concerns, such as headaches, respiratory disorders, and dizziness, have been associated with being exposed to carbamates.

What does long-term exposure to carbamates do?

Extended or excessive exposure might result in more serious illnesses, such as neurological problems. The risks are particularly significant for agricultural workers who handle these chemicals regularly. To mitigate risks, it is crucial for users to follow safety protocols and for regulatory agencies to ensure proper usage guidelines are in place.

The agricultural industry, while crucial for sustenance, poses significant health risks. Pesticides like Paraquat, organophosphates, and carbamates, despite their efficacy, have been linked to severe health issues, especially for agricultural workers.

The ongoing legal battles surrounding Paraquat underscore the gravity of these concerns. A delicate balance must be struck between food production and public health, necessitating stringent regulations, transparent labeling, and continuous research into safer alternatives.

Police Caught On Camera Assaulting Motorist To Get A Bribe

Motorist Assaulted by Police in Masvingo for Allegedly Refusing to Pay a Bribe: Calls for Investigation Mount

This case serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing issues of police corruption and abuse of power, and it raises urgent questions about the measures in place to protect citizens from such violations of their rights.

Further developments are expected as calls for justice continue to grow.

Legal Implications: If proven, the actions depicted in the video could lead to criminal charges against the officers, including assault and misconduct in public office. In addition, the victim may have grounds to file a civil lawsuit for unlawful arrest, assault, and violation of his constitutional rights under Zimbabwean law.

Authorities are being urged to ensure transparency in the investigation and to take swift action to restore public confidence in law enforcement institutions.

Kyle Walker’s Wife Initiates Divorce Proceedings

Sports Correspondent

Kyle Walker’s wife, Annie Kilner, has filed for divorce, according to reports.

The 31-year-old delivered the news to the Manchester City star, 34, after enlisting lawyers to begin the legal process of ending their marriage.

Annie is reportedly seeking a share of Walker’s £27 million fortune as their relationship deteriorates. Sources indicate that the couple is no longer in contact, and Walker is also consulting with his legal team.

The divorce papers were served weeks ago amid rising tensions following a scandal involving Walker’s love child with ex-mistress Lauryn Goodman.

A source revealed, “Kyle was shocked when he received the papers. They have discussed it, and while they are contemplating their next steps, this doesn’t necessarily mean a divorce is imminent. Annie wants him to understand she’s serious about their situation, but this move could backfire if it’s a bluff.”

The couple, who were childhood sweethearts from Sheffield, separated over Christmas after news of Walker fathering a second child with Lauryn emerged. Annie learned of the situation through a text from Lauryn, and they have since been attempting to salvage their relationship.

The pair only tied the knot in November 2021 in a private ceremony at Mottram Hall in Cheshire.

A 40-year-old self-proclaimed prophet, Tendai Chikowore, from Chikanga, Mutare, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison, with 3 years suspended, for raping a 31-year-old woman during a prayer session in the bush. The victim had visited Chikowore’s shrine seeking spiritual guidance.

According to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), Chikowore instructed the woman to bathe with water and rub her body with ashes in a nearby bush as part of a cleansing ritual. However, he then pushed her down and raped her. When the woman tried to scream for help, Chikowore allegedly “ordered complainant’s voice to mute,” causing her to lose her voice.

Chikowore further exploited the woman’s vulnerability, telling her not to “argue with the Holy Spirit” and that she needed to be cleansed with holy water to regain her voice. The woman remained voiceless even after reporting the incident to the police and had to write down her ordeal.

In a shocking twist, Chikowore attempted to perform rituals to help the woman regain her voice after his arrest.

The court’s sentencing reflects the severity of Chikowore’s crimes, ensuring he will spend 17 years behind bars.

Zanu PF Dismisses Internal Discord Claims

By A Correspondent

In a recent statement, ZANU PF’s Director of Information, Farai Muroiwa Marapira, emphasized the party’s unwavering support for Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, dismissing any claims of factional fights within its ranks.

Marapira asserted that “every member, including the Second Secretaries, are united behind the President’s leadership, demonstrating an unshakable loyalty to the party’s cause.”

This declaration comes in the wake of ongoing criticism from opposition groups and allegations of internal discord.

Marapira highlighted the challenges ZANU PF faces, particularly from “continuously funded propaganda campaigns” that have been targeting the party since Zimbabwe’s independence.

He insisted that these efforts have failed to undermine the party’s cohesion or its commitment to the nation.

“The propaganda is seen for what it is,” Marapira stated, “an attempt to destabilize a strong, forward-moving nation.”

He underscored that Zimbabwe is steadfast in its identity and direction, remaining largely impervious to external distractions.

Under Mnangagwa’s leadership, ZANU PF claims significant progress has been made, with Marapira expressing confidence that “the leadership remains resolute, the party is united, and Zimbabwe sails steadily toward a prosperous horizon.”

He framed this unity as essential for the country’s future, asserting that the party’s collective focus is on maintaining stability and fostering national growth.

War Veterans Slam Mnangagwa Regime Over Land Issue

A faction of the Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association (ZNLWVA) has strongly criticized the government’s recent decision to allow beneficiaries of the land reform program to sell or transfer their farms.

Led by Andreas Ethan Mathibela, this faction argues that permitting land sales undermines the sacrifices made during the liberation struggle and primarily benefits a privileged few rather than the broader population.

In a press conference held in Bulawayo on Tuesday, Mathibela expressed his discontent with the government’s approach, stating, “Who are we selling it to? What will happen to our future generation when we sell the land that many lives were lost fighting for?”

He emphasized that the government’s announcement, made live on television, should have involved public consultation. “I hope society misunderstood what the government said,” he added.

Mathibela further warned that once the land is sold, it will not expand beyond Zimbabwe’s borders, noting, “That means once you sell the land, only a few people will hold onto it.”

He pointed out that a significant number of war veterans remain without land, asserting, “I can speak on behalf of war veterans—about 75 to 80 percent have not been allocated land, the very land they fought for, including myself.

I don’t even have a piece of land. So, the question is, who owns the land right now?”

He also criticized the implications of land sales for agricultural use: “When you sell land, the buyer is not obligated to engage in agriculture.

Some just subdivide it for housing.” This shift, he argued, privatizes land intended for farming, allowing buyers to do as they please with it.

Mathibela highlighted the irony of a US$3.5 billion compensation bill for former white farmers while many veterans remain landless. “Does that make sense? Personally, it does not,” he said.

He concluded by stressing the importance of consulting citizens on such matters: “We must be careful and respect our citizens by consulting them. If we all agree to sell the land, then it’s on all of us, but that decision cannot come from a few individuals.”
