It is now 35 years after Zimbabwe attained Independence from Britain but government still blames the former colonial masters for its failures.
Vice-President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Wednesday shocked delegates attending a water conference underway in Harare when he said government’s failure to provide portable water to its citizens was caused by Britain.
Mnangagwa said were it not because of the former “colonizers” who left obsolete water pipes government would be providing safe water.
“Zimbabwe still has gaps that we inherited from the skewered system from former colonial masters. We need to address that,” said Mnangagwa.
As a result of government’s failure to provide portable water, women and children walk long distances to get the precious commodity.
Most urban centres experience extreme water shortages for years now, raising fears of waterborne diseases that thrive in unhygienic conditions.
Residents have resorted to drilling boreholes in a bid to counter the water challenges, but this has been said to deplete the water table.
Most of these boreholes have not been sanctioned by authorities.
The worst affected are those who have moved onto new housing developments and settlements which do not have infrastructure for water.

But unless we get all the democratic reforms agreed in the 2008 GPA implemented Mnangagwa will win the next elections!
First some idiot minister suggested that the west was stopping zimbabwes rain now this , I find it comical that our ministers houses have green grass in this drought time and continue to have clean fresh running water from the taps whilst the rest of the country has to make do with little to no! water at times , how is this possible that the areas maintained are areas frequented by zanu pf ministers
He has zero charisma and is so Un-electable.Thus why I say he cannot win a Credible Election even against a Donkey.

He is someone aspired to be the next president but inzwaiwo njere dzacho, hapana kana zvinemusoro zvaanotaura. Mnangagwa is a psychiatric who needs to be helped. Anongotevedzera zvinongoita Mugabe iye haanawo pfungwa dzake. Idai akataurawo kuti the problem was caused by some of our corrupt pple.

Each time Mnangagwa opens his mouth these days he leaves many people more convinced than ever that he is not fit to be president!
You should hang your head in shame. Is it so difficult to accept that you have totally failed, in almost anything? You are greedy to the core. Bottom line is that, you have no where to turn to. Let the titanic sink to the depth of the ocean.
