Robert Mugabe’s securocrats have begun approaching the MDC-T seeking for some sort of a reunion in order to fix the economy, highly placed Morgan Tsvangirai sources have claimed.

Mugabe’s security agents who include Service Chiefs are the ones who have for years assisted President Robert Mugabe to “rig” elections and clinch onto power. In March 2008 after Mugabe was beaten in the first round of the Presidential polls by  Morgan Tsvangirai, when the “junta” openly manipulated figures denying Tsvangirai his win.

They held on to the Presidential poll results for over six weeks and only to  announce that Tsvangirai had not garnered enough votes that would allow him to take over  from Mugabe.

“They (top security officers) are making concerted efforts trying to invite the party for talks,” said a senior official in Tsvangirai’s MDC party who cannot be named due to the sensitive nature of the discussions.

They continued, “they are saying we should meet as a party and assist government with ideas of how we could together shape the economy.

“But we are very careful because we do not trust these guys. Remember some of them have publicly declared their patronage to Zanu PF and have vowed to die for Mugabe .So ware treating them with due care”.

President Robert Mugabe’s Spokesman George Charamba was not available for comment at the time of writing as his phone kept ringing without being answered.

  1. If these people are serious about getting out of this mess then they must realize that Tsvangirai will never get them out of the mess!

  2. The only time I set my foot out of this, my country was in 2006, when I went to Botswana just for 5 hrs to purchase scarce fuel for my vehicles. If your memory serves you well, it was due to sanctions and we all know who advocated for those ones. After all, its not the big fish that suffered then, it was me and my poor kinsfolk. I have watched and supported the formation of the MDC, like every other citizen affected by the economic crisis and then watched them become the corrupt and thieving bunch they are today. As I write, we have a whole council of MDC councillors in my town accumulating wealth, siphoning money from council coffers while workers go for 9 mths without pay, allocating themselves stands even on locations meant for recreational facilities and over sewer and water pipes and going for luxury joints at council expense. One has gone a step further, by renting out council properties and converting the loot to his personal use. For the record I never mentioned that Zpf or Pres. Mugabe are angels in my article. I am not going to allow my judgement to be influenced by your hatred for Zpf to the detriment of my future, by just supporting an equally evil and corrupt, thug culture organisation like the MDC T. Its your choice to support this Mafioso at the expense of true democracy, and that is your constitutional right. After all, its a free country. As it stands I am waiting for some political party or leadership, that shall deliver this country from the morass it is in and in my opinion its never the MDC T in its current setup. No offence, that’s my opinion.

  3. Tsvangirai didn’t fail during the unity gvt. Zanu PF ministers snubbed him and the executive powers remained in the hands of Mugabe. He was more of a ceremonial prime minister or without portfolio. However you have to give credit to him for the man and women he forwarded to government. Biti, Chamisa, Mangoma and others. Besides all the harassment these man managed to deliver something. Mugabe after 35 years is still stuck with the same perennial failures, moving them from one ministry to the other. Look at the constitution making process Mangwana was so under pressure that he wanted to quit but working with Douglas Mwonzora gave him much confidence that he would even plead with leaders of Zanu to put the dogs on the leash. Those who regard him as a failure in GNU please give us the duties of the Prime Minister in that government. What did the deputy prime minister do in the same period? Nothing!! Had Tsvangirai known he would have taken a ministerial post than that PM’s office

  4. This can be true because the idea would be to invite MDC in as junior partners, so this would show some semblance of stability and reform in Zimbabwe, and then drive lenders, investors and donors to open their purses. Even though they are evil, I am sure they are shocked that the economy is actually getting worse and China is not coming to the rescue. What’s amazing is that they seem to be blind to the fact that no body can trust them anymore. Their ultimate goal is to use MDC to consolidate their power like they did with the GNU.

  5. Some people call themselves masters of everything.Watch the space. All ZANU goons are Mugabe’s wives. He can say talks today and no one will object. So tomorrow tokuonal manyara coz this regime is clueless.Ask Mugabe about economy not Morgan.Voters have faith in Morgani so all the waffling is nothing to the voters. To say voters have no choice is shallow minded. There are the NCUBES who got a thorough bashing, Bitis who were afraid to contest just 20 seats.Tsvangirai contests nationally, wins nationally. No amount of hatred will derail this movement.Like it or not, with your thories of hare and baboon, MDC is stronger than before.

  6. You certainly don’t live in Zimbabwe and read too much folk tales. Is there anything cruel like Mugabe regime?

  7. Your language truelly befits economists of Zimbabwe.Too stupid to think properly.Thats why Zimbabweans call themselves educated but poor in mental reasoning.Of all economic factors, political will plays the holding card.Where did you train your mugabenomics? From a bush university

  8. Pleas forgive these guys who suffer from post 1980 ZAPU loss stress disorder. This disorder is passed through the males and will remain with them for generations.

  9. Tsvangirai sold-out during the GNU it is folly to elect a corrupt and incompetent leader again and hope that he will change.

  10. You are right many Zimbabweans hate Zanu PF so much they would vote for anyone just to get Zanu PF out. What these people fail to realize is that they have failed to remove President Mugabe and Zanu PF from office these last 15 years because President Mugabe has outwitted Tsvangirai at every turn.
So it is not enough to vote for anyone other than President Mugabe to get him out of power, we must vote for someone who will not be so easily fooled and bribed.
We are in this mess because we have a naive and gullible electorate to have elected a tyrant in the first place and then a corrupt and incompetent village idiot.

  11. The scrapping of the Z$ and ending of the price controls helped in the economic recovery and these tasks were complete within two months of the GNU. So why did MDC fail to implement the democratic in the remaining 4 years?

  12. President Mugabe and Morgan Tsvangirai have betrayed the nation and it is high time the two are told that it is time for them to go!

  13. We are in this mess because both Zanu PF and MDC betrayed the people and to think that these two are part of the solution is being naive!

  14. Zanu PF is feeling the heat from the worsening economic meltdown but the party should know that nothing short of real political reforms will turn round the economy. Another Zanu PF and MDC GNU will not deliver and meaningful democratic reforms just as the first one failed!

  15. The problems is only you and a few other folks see Tsvangirai for who he is, but the bulk of the voting public don’t care what has become of him, they will vote for him as long as he is contesting against Zpf. Most people don’t care or maybe don’t realise his dictatorial tendencies and have hatred for Zpf so much, they would vote for him anyway, despite that he is likely to lead us way badly than Zpf did.

  16. So Ndebeles in jotsholo have everything they need? If so why are you crying about being marginalised? You are just a tribalist who is ill mannered. There is nothing wrong with Zimbabweans comjng together to solve the country’s problems. A homegrown solution is the best and that involves all Zimbabweans.

  17. All politicians need to talk, when our politics is broken we have a broken government and broken national mood. If we sort out the political mess we give the economy a chance. MDC and ZanuPf should have talked on the economic blueprint way back after 2013 elections. a blend of Zimasset and Juice could offer hope to ordinary Zimbabwe. We have a choice between stakeholder politics or spectator politics. It’s never too late to put people and country first. In reality Zimbabwe is neither Zanu Pf nor MDC so why should party politics stand in the way of collective good governance

  18. Thus everyone’s dream, come to rallies even Solomon Madzore’s parents would want to be part of the crowd.
Wilbert this is not all about reforms, its about people who shall vote. By 2018 the Mutana would be gone.

  19. I too have noticed that. A Shona will sell their mother for money and is not to be trusted.

  20. Tsvangirai lost political credibility because he failed to implement the reforms. Tsvangirai is finished!

  21. Zanu PF was convinced they would rig economic recovery the economic reality shows that they have failed. Mugabe and Zanu PF would have never given up power but the worsening economic meltdown is forcing them to!

  22. You are right on the first point, Tsvangirai has lost all political credibility with anyone who is anyone, especially with the West and SADC.
You are right that Zanu PF does not care about the suffering masses but the economic meltdown is now so bad the party is now forced to accept change or be kicked out of power because the current economic situation is simply unsustainable.

  23. Aaaaah, u so called ‘economist’, I think you are ZANU PF chief economist who do not even have facts to defend himself. For yo own information sir or rich madam, this platform is not for us to fight but to present our facts. We don’t need to insult each other.
Well, can you pliz describe for all the readers the situation which we had during the 2008 period before Unity gv and after Unity gvt?

  24. The are Ndebele, Ndau and all the other tribes, not just Shonas, in both Zanu PF and MDC so what are you talking about!

  25. Mugabe and Tsvangirai can talk until they are blue in the face they have both lost political credibility with anyone with any common sense. What the country needs to end the present and worsening economic meltdown is real economic reforms and neither Zanu PF, MDC nor some coalition of the two have the gravitas and vision to deliver those reforms.
If Mugabe and Tsvangirai think they can take anyone for a ride once again as they did during the GNU then they are in for a big surprise. They can fool the Zimbabwe electorate but no one else – the Zimbabwe electorate are not going to help in anyway with the economic recovery.

  26. These are 2 Shona savages that cannot be trusted. That spineless Tsangarai was bought out by Mugabe tears ago. They are both thieving savages who both deserve each other! You must ALL remember one thing the Shona is a born thief and they are the ones responsible for destroying our once prosperous economy. Why is it that whatever they touch they destroy??? This is why they sill live in mud huts and drink water from rivers and shite in the bush!!!! You cannot trust one of them, just remember that!!!!

  27. I think when seeing Mr Didymus Mutasa coming to join them they think that he representing Cde Robert Mugabe’s ZANU-PF Party……or he is representing Cde Robert Mugabe….that is wishful thinking for MDC-T Party……………..

  28. LIES, WISHFUL THINKING, HALLUCINATIONS….MDC T is completely finished!! It’s actually the sell-outs who are begging Gushaz for a 2nd GNU!!

  29. You are totally idiotic and clueless. its not your fault if you believe that goblin Tsvangidhongi can solve our economy, you must be a very poor goblin also.

  30. What did the unity gvt brought? There wer empty shelves, no medicine in hospitals, civil servants were paid peanuts but during the unity gvt, first month they were paid in US$ but after the june 2013 elections its disaster now.
You may hate Tsvangirai but during the unity gvt, yes Mugabe ignored on electoral reforms but the economy had responded and confidence nd diginity was brought back to the people of Zimbabwe.

  31. I support the opposition but this pathetic article cannot even make it for April fools day

  32. This can not be true for a number of reasons
    1. Tsvangirai has no sway with the West or outside Zim anymore so I don’t see how this could help.
2 In what capacity within the state structures would he be consulted he isn’t an MP or minister.
3 ZANU-PF can NEVER and will NEVER admit when they have failed approaching MDC-T would be an admission of failure
4 ZANA_PF do not care about the economy or suffering people, they care about staying in power for the sake of being in power so why would they approach Tvsangirai he brings nothing to the table… NEVER.

  33. Lies have to be descent if they can have value. This report is a fabrication from a mentally challenged son or daughter of a white man’s garden boy or nanny who has no clue of politics or governance. Tswangirai being consulted????????? He was in the GNU and was ignored totally and what would be his relevance now? Ki ki ki ki ki
