Tourism and Hospitality Industry minister Walter Mzembi has blasted Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko’s national prayer calls saying the country only needs good economic policies.
Mphoko last week said the nation should hold a one week long prayer for the rains.
In his words Mphoko said Zimbabweans should turn to the “Almighty God the Creator and the Sustainer of life to heal our land”.
Mzembi who was addressing tourism stakeholders in Harare on Monday said rains were not the only solution to the ailing economy.
He said Zimbabwe should harness water from the dams and use it for irrigation.
“We have 10800 dams, 11 million hectares of irrigable land and we should be the last nation to premise rain as the critical success factor for a viable agricultural season, the missing link is the power of creativity,” said Mzembi.
“Let us not cry and cry because there is no one listening. God is saying that I have already given you the solution. Yes lets pray but he has told me in my prayers that I gave you the solution long back and it is the power of creativity”, he said.

  2. Its only because these countries like Zambia and SA have not chased away the white farmers who are professional commercial farmers and love what they do. The blacks who have rushed to take charge of sectors of the country which they have little or no ideas about give the impression of angry passengers on a plane ejecting the pilot from the plane and expecting to complete the journey. It gets worse when a person who was not even known about 99.9% of the population is appointed vice president and as such no suprise when Mphoko makes these stupid suggestions.

  4. He is a mirage hailing from Matebeleland whose sole mandate is to have a Ndebele name in the Presidium and in the process pacify the restless offshoots of Zululand residing in our country….Imboko zvayo isina kana nyaya…

  5. Creativity is a hard commodity to come by with a team of octogenarians at the helm….. They are so mired in history and the liberation struggle “glory” and that in itself presents an aberration to futuristic and contemporary vision…These are fossilized yesterday men & women who are a liability to Zimbabwe….

  6. He is Gamatox 100%, and they know already. I think he is sick and tired of the old dogs now.

  7. This Mzembi guy is begging to be Fired.First he castigated the Chinese for spending more money in the EU than in Zimbabwe, hence blaming them for struggling figures in Tourism. Now he is blaming lack of creativity for Zim crisis.I wonder how long till they accuse him of being a Gomatox and will give him the sack.Deep down he knows Zanu PF days are numbered so he is securing a future in the Post Matibili era.
