By Farai D Hove| First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa has been accused of dishing out unhealthy fizzy drinks and fast food to kids.

This was during a LIVE radio discussion Friday morning on the local  radio on the First Lady’s visits to hospitals.

A caller attacked the President’s wife for allegedly donating unhealthy fizzy drinks and fast foods to kids. This was marked by questions on how factual that comment was. It could not be ascertained at the time of writing if the claim was factual and reliable.

The development sparked memories of former First Lady Grace Mugabe whose philanthropic rallies saw scores of citizens being repeatedly killed in stampedes at her functions. ZimEye.com has carried a satellite map revealing those sudden deaths. ( SEE SATELLITE MAP BELOW) –

During the discussion however, other callers said Mrs Mnangagwa’s visits are important as they raise awareness on the status of public hospitals.

  1. Of course the industry need to be revitalized and configured with relevant contemporaryor up-to-date equipment and machinery but remember, this is not the mandate of the First Lady… Industry haidi First lady my brother… The developed world, World Bank, IMF will invest after free n fair elections… We have to relax about any meaningful FDI that is why the President had to engage the South African business community…

  2. Stop being ungrateful thank you mai Mnangagwa God will bless you .what is health drink how many of us is eating healthy food can you please give us a break when someone does something nice please learn to appreciate it. Thank you mai.

  3. True, it only becomes unhealthy if it’s a lifestyle! We all binge on unhealthy sugary stuff at Christmas. Who ever wrote this should be ashamed of themselves! You’re trying to tell me that your kids don’t eat the same unhealthy stuff during holidays or on their birthdays! These kids are probably from a less privileged background and they don’t have these treats often!

  4. For once I won’t attack you.We all drink fizzy drinks ( coke, Pepsi etc) not only zimbabweans but the world over.

If this person truely called then it’s either she is politicking or is one of those diet zealots.

Those kids lookin envy at other younger kids eating fast foods ,and then has the nerve of opening her foul mouth.

This is the sort of brainwashed, propaganda people I hate ,who argue baselessly

  5. Zimeye Phd (pull her down. Why publish before gathering facts. the other time you did the same with spar supermarket. Xaaa

  6. Fizzy drinks are a treat for most zimbabwe children. it is ok for the children to get a treat once in a life time from the first lady. They are not going to suffer from one occasional fast food. Siyanai na Mai Munangagwa. SHe is a mother and knows how to fadza vana. Let her do her job. Your hatred knows no bounds.

  7. You realise the more you attack her the more people like her. As a treat fizzy drinks and fast food are ok. What have you done zvafuura zva Mai Mnangagwa? Mschew

  8. if opposition is not published does not mean they are doing nothing also giving food is commendable but its just a drop in an ocean. we need industries to be revived, foreign investors especially America, Britain. 37 years of suffering is no joke.

  9. Zimeye is slowly becoming like one of those gossip tabloids. Give us some real news please. There’s lots going on of interest to our people and the world at large. Too many petty news coverage and shallow opinion pieces that are biased and sometimes pure hateful and childish. Chinjai manyorero please so you don’t lose readership.

  10. Opposition people trying to be relevant out of nothing.. I have said it earlier, we need to acknowledge good deeds where they are due.. What exactly are you doing, at whatever level to alleviate poverty or to give hope to the underprevileged? The answer is “NOTHING”. Let Auxilia Mnangagwa do at least something worthy to be written on these vulnerable kids’ memory for a lifetime. i am not bootlicking the first family at all, but I want to encourage them to give the opposition a good run for their money or parliamentary seats.. We need hard working and focused people witha clear mandate to serve in the POLITICAL SPACE.

  11. Ice cream, which the former “Fast” Lady Grace Mugabe used to dish out to your children, causes more harm to the brain than fizzy drinks! And your silence was almost audible. Granted fizzy drinks and fast foods are not suitable for children. But what are you doing to your own children every weekend when you queue at Chicken Chakuti and stuff them with the same garbage? If Auxillia Munangagwa had taken sadza remhunga and madora, you would still have burst your neck veins in protest. Hamuna kwenyu. Grace Mugabe dished our USED women’s underwear to thousands, FOR YEARS!. There is no telling what diseases the former wearers (some dead) suffered from. They may include Gonorrhea, Siphyllis, Dropsy or some scary stuff but you clapped your hands gleefully and accepted. Mai Munangagwa is only a month (less even) in her seat and your hairs are bristling with insipid hate already. ZIMEYE, can you do an article on possible future First Ladies in the eventuality that Munangagwa leaves office? It would be nice to see what will be in store for the same criers here when Mrs Tsvangirayi, Biti, Chamisa, Ncube, Mutambara or Mangoma rise to the same spot. Sorry Mrs Mujuru is not going to have a First Lady !!
