Terrence Mawawa, Masvingo| Villagers in the Zimuto Area in Masvingo District have predicted a landslide victory for President Emmerson Mnangagwa in the 2018 polls.

In a survey conducted by Masvingo Centre for Research and Advocacy last week, 90% of the villagers said Tsvangirai would not defeat Mnangagwa in the 2018 polls.

The villagers indicated that Mnangagwa was in a better position to win the elections because he won the hearts of many Zimbabweans when he took over power after the resignation of his former boss, Robert Mugabe.

“Villagers in the Zimuto Area have pointed out that Morgan Tsvangirai is no longer popular as a result of various factors.

The villagers have also indicated that President Mnangagwa is poised for victory in the 2018 polls because he is already in the process of reviving the economy.

At the same time Tsvangirai has nothing new to offer, according to the villagers,” read part of a report released by Masvingo Centre for Research and Advocacy.

“The villagers have also stated that Mnangagwa has an upper hand over Tsvangirai because of his composure and determination,” Masvingo Centre for Research and Advocacy further indicated.

  1. I think the problem is the journalist who wrote the misleading headline. The body of the article clearly says in Zimuto. Plus the original article have full details of the summary etc. You cant expect all this info in a news article as if its a journal

  2. Me too. I thought you guys meant it when you said you want to arrest those involved in corruption. What do you have to say to Supa Mandiwanzira wealth. From being a reporter to be the richest in the road construction industry. This guy amused a lot of wealth through the G40 cabal. I will not vote for Zanupf. Pamberi na Chamisa

  3. The future is Morgan. Me and my family will vote for Tsvangirai. Zanupf will never change its colour.

  4. Kkkkk that shows shallowness in applying statistics in such a research. First of all in line with mathematical statistics ,for such a survey you need to summarise what method of sampling used ,target population, age variance etc etc.To bark that a survey done in Zimuto would represent the general sentiment for the whole country is just ignorance gone rogue. You don’t go to a ward for a survey and give the result as representing the whole country. Whilst it could be true that in zimuto ED will win ,we can’t mathematically use that to translate to all citizens in zim across the country

  5. What is important is to make the playing field level as we go for elections, no rigging, no intimidation, no violence . One of the fundamental things that need to be done at the moment is the issue of addressing election reforms in Zimbabwe. We will support whoever is elected by the people and move forward in developing the country. If the current President wins, we will continue to support him. It is my view that imposition of leaders in all political parties and government should not be allowed and is detrimental in Zimbabwe and Africa at large has this as become the norm except in few countries.

  6. Thanks for that biased survey. Go to UMP and make a similar survey tione. Do not conclude ne ongororo yemuraini make chete.
