ZimEye will be LIVE streaming events as they unfold on our facebook page where former President Robert Mugabe is expected to appear before the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Mines and Energy.

Mugabe is expected to appear before the committee to clarify and present oral evidence on the US$15 billion diamond revenue which he alleged disappeared.

Last week on Thursday, chairperson of the committee Temba Mliswa said Mugabe had failed to appear because of the time that he had been summoned to appear.

“Even when he was still President, because of his age, Mugabe held cabinet meetings at 12 pm,” said Mliswa, adding that they had advised Mugabe to appear Monday (today) at 2 pm.

However, it was not clear whether Mugabe had acknowledged receipt of his notice to appear or confirmed attendance.
