A South African based Zimbabwean business mogul has pledged to fund the Warriors programmes following their recent success in the COSAFA Tournament.

Laston Murerwa, the owner of Last Power Spares (LPS) gave the team R40 000 for winning the Cosafa Cup in South Africa recently and he also rewarded goalkeeper George Chigova with R3 000 for his heroic penalty saves.

According to NewsDay, Murerwa said he was excited “to play a part” in supporting the national side.

“Our wish is to help the team in future endeavours. We will have to engage relevant officials and see how best we can help. Our wish is to see, not only this team prosper, but all our national teams,” Murerwa said.

“We have also heard that a lot of other companies have also shown interest in supporting the Warriors, which is a good thing.

This is our team, so let’s help our beloved Warriors.”
