Supporters of Zanu PF MP for Masvingo Central Constituency, Edmund Mhere last week blocked villagers from attending a People’ s Rainbow Coalition Meeting.

Vehicles ferrying drunk Zanu PF members moved around the constituency and individuals with megaphones instructed local villagers to boycott Majuru’ s meeting.

According to a report presented to the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission last week, the Zanu PF youths disrupted the meeting as they distributed freebies to villagers a stone’s throw from the venue in a calculated move to create a counter attraction.

“Zanu PF youths last week disrupted a PRC meeting scheduled for Muchakata Business Centre in Masvingo Central Constituency.

The actions of the unruly ruling party supporters directly contradict the rules and regulations informing the 2018 elections.

We hope the matter will be addressed as soon as possible,” read part of the report presented to ZEC.
