President Emmerson Mnangagwa has said the ruling party Zanu PF will continue to respect liberation war hero Robert Mugabe despite his ignominious resignation.

Addressing party supporters at a rally in Lupane today, Mnangagwa said Mugabe and several liberation war icons played a traceable role in the struggle for independence.

“I have always said we will continue to honour the founding fathers of the revolution.

Father Zimbabwe , Joshua Nkomo and Cde Robert Mugabe were influential in the liberation struggle,” said Mnangagwa.

He also accused G-40 elements- Saviour Kasukuwere, Grace Mugabe, Patrick Zhuwawo, and Ignatius Chombo of capturing executive powers.
