Panic As Town Runs Out Of Water Treatment Chemicals

Terrence Mawawa|The Municipality of Marondera has disclosed that it is facing a critical shortage of water treatment chemicals.
According to Marondera town council engineer Christopher Chineka, the local authority has only one week’ s supply of chlorine and aluminium sulphate.
This has raised fears of an outbreak of the deadly cholera epidemic and other communicable diseases in the town.
“We only have one week’ s supply of chlorine and aluminium sulphate and we hope to get the chemicals as soon as possible.We are currently supplying 9000 mega litres of water per day against the daily demand of 29 mega 000 litres,” said Chineka.
