Farai Dziva|Masvingo based political analyst Jeffryson Chitando has urged MDC A members to desist from pursuing factional agendas and focus on a leader who has the capacity to lead the party to victory against Zanu PF in 2023.
See Chitando’s statement below: Winning in wards and constituencies is difficult if you have a provincial leadership that is not united – a one man band and a chaotic setup. The current provincial leadership lacks a clear plan to defeat Zanu PF.
A provincial leadership must be visible in all wards and constituencies. Rallies, workshops and meetings must be led by a provincial leadership that is determined to win elections against Zanu PF.
If a provincial executive fails to lead by example then the party will only be visible during election campaigns.
Provincial leaders must lead with humility and not boastfulness. It’s not a question of how rich a provincial chairperson must be but it is about how one can come up with strategies .If you elect a provincial chair on the strength of his pocket you will definitely get cash but you will not win wards and constituencies against Zanu PF.
