By Own Correspondent- The death toll from the Gweru accident has risen to 11.

The accident occurred on Wednesday night about 25 kilometres from Gweru when a bus collided head-on with a minibus.

Witnesses attributed the accident to speeding by both the commuter omnibus and the bus.

The head on collision claimed 10 people on the spot while the eleventh person died at Gweru Provincial Hospital on Thursday.

Officer Commanding Gweru Traffic Chief Inspector David Kureyi confirmed the death and said six more people were still admitted at the hospital.

Said Mavima:

“….We implore drivers to value life and exercise caution on the roads. We mourn the deceased together with bereaved families.”
