By A Correspondent- Addressing hundreds of MDC supporters in Glen View South over the weekend, opposition leader Nelson Chamisa revealed that his party was currently engaging the grassroots in a move aimed at ensuring that the people drive and direct the party’s agenda and discourse.

He said:

“……..We are here because of death. Our honourable MP Honourable Vimbai Tsvangirai Java left us when we least expected it. The MDC people here chose Richard Tsvangirai in honour of his late father and we thank you because we were not expecting that.

The other leaders are not here because we launched a program where we are consulting the electorate on what we should do. This is why the other leaders are not here. Some are in Mangwe and others are involved in other programs nationally. We want you to give direction to the party so that when we speak we are speaking on your behalf.”
