The Vice President Lynette Karenyi, Deputy Secretary General Jameson Timba and Deputy Treasurer General Lilian Timvious were live on ZimEye offering their solidarity with practitioners and the community at large.

Zimbabweans living abroad are faced with a myriad of problems during the lockdown period of which some of the problems include among others, exposure to the virus since the majority of them are frontliners, dying alone without their beloved ones, lack of dignified burials where they cannot even be burried home by their beloved ones loneliness as everyone is under lockdown, children left with noone close to look after, rejection of those who decide to go home, inhumane treatment of returnees under quarantine by the Zimbabwean government, victimisation of opposition activists, in particular Mary Ndoro who the Deputy Minister of Labour cited to be among the returnees and stated that she was among those who demonstrated against Minister S.B Moyo when he went to the United Kingdom. Mary is not at all among the returnees.

The leaders passed their condolences to the families and friend of the deceased and emphasised that the time was now to unite for a purpose and be our brother’s and sister’s keepers during the lockdown period as some live alone. VP Karenyi thanked the organisers of the wonderful programme as it gave them an opportunity to meet the members online. Hon Timveous thanked and assured Mary Ndoro and all other activists that the party will always stand with them in times of need. Hon Timba reiterated that the government must stop victimising its members and blaming MDC Alliance for their failures as he said the returnees demands were just.
