[9/15, 14:40] Musavengana Nyasha: ????????????????
Makadii VaMashakada?
Ndinonzi Musavengana Nyasha. I am a member of the Midlands, Waterfalls committee.
The committee was formed for the purpose of keeping ourselves informed on issues to do with service delivery amongst other matters to do with our community.
We are requesting a meeting with you so that tinoonesana nezve nyaya dzakadai.
At this time of Covid, there will just be a maximum of 5 representatives of the committee and all precautionary protocols like social distancing and the wearing of masks will be observed.
[9/15, 17:43] Mashakada: Ok it’s fine let’s see from next week
[9/15, 17:46] Musavengana Nyasha: We will wait to hear from you. Please try to give us advance warning of at least 3 days.
[9/15, 17:48] Mashakada: Sharp. Yamurikuti Midlands ndeipi zviye
[9/15, 17:51] Musavengana Nyasha: Aizve. Hamutoziva constituency yenyu?
Area ine Lord Malvern School. Mukatsvaga map ye Waterfalls inenge iri more specific.
[9/15, 17:54] Mashakada: I know all corners of waterfalls but there is no such place like Midlands in my view
[9/15, 17:58] Musavengana Nyasha: Your “view” is mistaken. Like l said, look for a map. Midlands is between Cheviot, Parktown and Malvern. Our addresses are written in full as Midlands, Waterfalls just like ana Parktown, Waterfalls. Pa Zindoga is part of Midlands, with the next shops pane OK being Malvern.
[9/15, 18:00] Mashakada: Ok great
[9/24, 10:03] Musavengana Nyasha: Makadii? I’ve been waiting to hear from you.
I’ve also realised that this statement is typical of politians. It is positive without really meaning anything.
When are we going to meet?
[9/24, 11:09] Mashakada: Ok ndiani wangu uyu
[9/24, 12:44] Musavengana Nyasha: ????????????????

[9/24, 12:44] Musavengana Nyasha: ??
[9/24, 12:48] Mashakada: Ok but I don’t why all the chats are deleted yes I remember
[9/24, 12:48] Mashakada: Don’t know why.
[9/24, 12:48] Mashakada: I will advise u date
[9/24, 12:55] Musavengana Nyasha: It helps to have a time frame to work with. We are your constituents and you need to prioritise meeting with us without leaving it to chance.
[9/24, 12:56] Musavengana Nyasha: You can’t be too busy to make that happen. Otherwise who are you representing?
[9/24, 13:09] Mashakada: If you wanna push me into a corner and not allow me to tell you how I intend to proceed and engage you, we may then as well forget about it and you exercise your democratic right come 2023. I cannot dance to your tune coz you must know the Hatfield stakeholders are many and I have to plan my diary
[9/24, 13:33] Musavengana Nyasha: I am simply expressing my opinion and suggesting that we come up with something more concrete than the last time where you seemed to have forgotten about my request of your meeting. How does that put you in a corner?
Of course you have to plan your diary. And so do we!
Your attitude is very poor and disappointing.
[9/24, 13:35] Musavengana Nyasha: Just saying “you will advise me of date” is the same as “we will see from next week”. It is too open-ended and quite frankly means nothing.
[9/24, 13:39] Musavengana Nyasha: We, the members of the Midlands, Waterfalls Committee, don’t need to be lectured to about our “democratic rights”. We know them.
It should be yours and our privilege to meet and discuss matters concerning our constituency.
Don’t create reasons for us not to meet or for you to avoid your responsibilities. Where is the “Honourable” part of your being an MP?
[9/24, 14:33] Mashakada: This is what I found disrespectful
[9/24, 14:35] Mashakada: You are not the best person to represent that area coz your language is terrible and you do not have public relations. You are talking to an adult not a kid whom you can tell to jump.
[9/24, 15:17] Musavengana Nyasha: My brother, you are a seasoned politician, who has been insulted by people of other parties and l am sure, even some of your own. I did not insult you. I never told you to jump.Criticise my lack of PR if you lime, but don’t lose sight of what matters…which is…the way forward.
After all is said and done, what matters is the constituency and what needs to be done.
[9/24, 15:19] Musavengana Nyasha: If l am not mistaken, you haven’t met people from this area since…when?
So, when overtures are made for us to meet, should we prioritise the pride or lack of PR between 2 people instead of the needs of the community?
[9/24, 15:20] Musavengana Nyasha: Kana tatadza kutaurirana zvakanaka yova hondo here kana kuti pogadziriswa and we move forward?
[9/24, 15:22] Musavengana Nyasha: You didn’t give a good impression by not knowing our area (part of your constituency; not getting back to us on when we would meet after saying “next week” … So, 1st impressions both sides have been bad.
But, surely, we can move past that?
[9/24, 15:29] Mashakada: Yes we can move past this if you may remain less judgemental
[9/24, 15:32] Musavengana Nyasha: Great! So, when can we have the meeting??
[9/24, 15:38] Mashakada: I said next week
[9/24, 15:38] Mashakada: Coz iam out of town
[9/24, 15:38] Mashakada: Please itemize the issues here
[9/24, 15:44] Musavengana Nyasha: To be fair, this is what you said today after saying that “we will see from next week” the previous week….
But let’s move on..
Since we have never met, l would say that the issues should basically be about your vision and plans for our area just as we share ours with you. And then we craft a way forward pertaining to how we work together and also establish better and constant communication lines.
[9/24, 15:45] Musavengana Nyasha: As l said last time, we do need enough notice for the meeting so that members can clear their schedules or suggest alternate dates.
[9/24, 15:46] Mashakada: I want you to state your problems straight to the point. We start from there. We are all living in Zimbabwe I don’t promise heaven on earth.
[9/24, 15:46] Mashakada: Iam not a campaign trail do zve vision does not apply
[9/24, 15:50] Musavengana Nyasha: I never asked you to promise heaven on earth. And by “vision” l am not talking about the formal “vision and mission” kind of statements. I am talking about basic things. Surely you know what ails your constituency and how you plan to solve or help solve those problems?
We just share how we see these things and see how we can work together.
[9/24, 15:52] Musavengana Nyasha: You are right, you are not on a campaign trail. And we would hate it if you spoke to us as if you were.
Tinoda kuonesana mamiriro ezvinhu toona kuti tingashanda tese sei.
[9/24, 15:52] Mashakada: Should I report the whole constituency vision to you? Let us narrow it to Midlands
[9/24, 15:54] Musavengana Nyasha: ?That is entirely up to you. My first concern is Midlands, then we move on to Waterfalls, in that order.
[10/2, 14:46] Musavengana Nyasha: Makadii Va Mashakada? Next week yamakareva yavakutopera.
[10/2, 16:33] Mashakada: Had a program in byo
[10/2, 18:09] Musavengana Nyasha: Yes. You told me you were out of town and that we would meet this week. Saka zvakamira sei?
[10/3, 07:33] Musavengana Nyasha: ???????
[10/3, 07:34] Mashakada: Ndozvandirikuti iam in Bulawayo. Back Monday
[10/3, 07:35] Musavengana Nyasha: The question still stands. When do you propose we meet?
[10/3, 07:53] Musavengana Nyasha: Are you suggesting that we meet on Monday?
[10/3, 09:22] Mashakada: Wait for me. You will hear from me.
[10/3, 09:29] Musavengana Nyasha: Mr Mashakada. That is not how we should communicate. I have been “waiting” for you since we started this conversation. We all have things to do. This is not about one person deciding paanodira kuona vamwe. I would expect you to actually make time to meet us the people of your constituency. You have been saying next week, next week every week now.
Meetings are organized between 2 parties. One suggests an actual date and the other party confirms it or suggests an alternative. You do not seem to see the need for this meeting.
Hamusikuikoshesa kana kuti koshesa.
[10/3, 10:18] Mashakada: Shamwari. Wait for me to come back to you at my own convenience because iam showing you kuti I have not been in Harare so don’t push me to keep giving you dates when IAM not available. Leave it up to me now. I will give you date and time for our meeting. Ok.
[10/3, 10:21] Musavengana Nyasha: No. It is not OK.
[10/3, 10:28] Musavengana Nyasha: You put yourself up to represent us. And we elected you. To represent us. Not to be there at your convenience.
Musazoti mavara azara vhu Va Mashakada.
We have tried patiently to make you aware of your responsibilites and to meet with you but to no avail.
You have already indicated that, as far as you are concerned, it is the next elections that matter where you said we should then exercise our rights as voters.
What gives you the impression that we want to wait that long for someone who is too busy and important to meet us so that he can truly represent us and not himself?
