By James Gwati-Japan has secured President Emmerson Mnangagwa who is failing to provide food and social services to the 16 million people and extended US$ 1.25 million towards feeding the food insecure country.
The Japanese government did channel the much-needed assistance last week through the World Food Program.
In a joint statement with WFP, the Japanese ambassador to Zimbabwe, Mr Satoshi Tanaka, said the support from Japan will assist 11,080 people in building community and household assets in the districts of Mount Darwin and Matobo.
He said part of the money will be used to construct small dams, fish ponds, dip tanks, and irrigated vegetable gardens and orchards, assets include improved fields through water conservation activities, such as by filling gullies, making terraces or soil bunds, and planting trees.
