By A Correspondent- Informal traders in Mbare whose malls were destroyed by the government last week are engaging in running battles with the police.

The skirmishes were witnessed today by the state media after the vendors had resisted vacating the demolished premises.

The skirmishes were at opposite Mupedzanhamo market, where some vendors had moved away from the roadside and now doing their business from an area at some flats nearby.

Serious battles were at the areas around Mupedzanhamo market and Mbare long-distance bus terminus.
