Jay-Z has vehemently denied allegations of raping a 13-year-old girl alongside Sean “Diddy” Combs in 2000. In a statement, Jay-Z called the lawsuit a “blackmail attempt,” saying, “My lawyer received a blackmail attempt, called a demand letter, from a ‘lawyer’ named Tony Buzbee.

What he had calculated was the nature of these allegations and the public scrutiny would make me want to settle. No sir, it had the opposite effect! It made me want to expose you for the fraud you are in a VERY public fashion. So no, I will not give you ONE RED PENNY!!”

The lawsuit, filed under New York’s Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act, alleges that Jay-Z and Diddy drugged and raped the anonymous accuser, “Jane Doe,” at a house party after the MTV Video Music Awards in New York. Diddy’s legal team has also denied the allegations, calling the lawsuit a “shameless publicity stunt” designed to extract payments from celebrities .

Diddy is currently in jail awaiting trial on charges of sex-trafficking and other offenses, with a trial set for May 5. He faces 30 other lawsuits, all of which his legal team claims are “lies spread about him” .
