MDC-T Position On Vendors

The MDC supports the right of vendors to make a living for themselves and their families. As such, the party will do everything within our power to provide vendors with recognition, protection and security in their places of trade. The MDC will regularise the activities of vendors by granting them licences to operate in return for a nominal fee that is currently set at $1 a day.
The MDC will negotiate with the recognised representatives of vendors in order to come up with the conditions under which vendors can undertake their business activities. We will endeavour to provide shelter and toilet facilities for all street traders and as the country’s largest and most popular political party, we will not co – operate with any attempts to violate the rights of vendors. We call upon the Zanu PF regime not to resort to unconstitutional and illegal methods when dealing with street traders.
The MDC calls upon all local authorities that we control to hold formal, detailed discussions with the vendor associations in each urban area and to agree on the way forward. In no way should the municipal police be used in any exercise to ban traders from urban areas.

  1. you have answered yourself silungisen 2001..14yrs ago vendor razara muharare after 2013 elections

  2. Tino…remember in early year 2001 your Boss Mr Morgan Richard Tsvangirai sayoing in a Rally in Mutare…”amusati mashaya zwekudya..mushazo shayisisa”…”South Africa must cut Transport AND Electricity Links with Zimbabwe and the International Community must take suit to punish Mugabe Regime”…it wasn’t the invitation of the illegal Sanctions on your Country Zimbabwe by the Opposition Leader?….i believe he too excited by the over whelming support from local and International…so what now?…Tino..

  3. Prof , you never cease to amaze. You are so charged with emotions to the extent that we wonder if you practise your agriculture with emotions.MDC never called for sanctions. It is your party ZANU which called the sanctions by discriminating its citizens in spheres of life.If ZANU had given land to everyone regardless of race , colour and affiliation, Zimbabwe was going to be somewhere.Even today your Masvingo goon Jabboon is saying we are taking a farm from Bhasikiti because he is no longer ZANU.Thats the problem with your people, too much emotions with little to do for the people.Ask the CIOs to bring back Dzamara and a whole lot of others.
The good thing is that, if you support ZANU, when it wants to sacrifice you there is no turning back
China developed by watching the actions of people in the market and then devise policies to stimulate further growth in the areas where people’s hearts were.ZIMASSET was a flop because its an imagination of goats flying a boeing 707.As for elections, ZANU doesnt want elections because they don’t win them. They haven’t even delivered on a single promise. So instead of saying MDC this n that, take an audit and see what you can do for the people, which you have failed the past 35 years. With emotions, a lot of boader gezi crew(CIO) have killed innocent civilian and they are haunted. So better concentrate on your farm prof than to think ZANU is supreme

  4. Aiwa we want order mumastreets umo $1 a day kuita sei. Put them somewhere zviite order kwete kuti uri kuzvifambira zvako wongoimbirwa matimati ,ma onion ,carrots cabbage vachada apo kkkkkkkkk

  5. Politically speaking, the best TSVANGIRUZA and his MDCT can do is to join us in denouncing and ask for the total removal of sanctions if he genuinely cares for the unemployed masses. Crocodile tears exposes MDCT. The people will not vote for that cruel party again in 2018.
