The Zimbabwe Football Association, ZIFA’s President Phillip Chiyangwa has issued an apology for the humiliation of Kalisto Pasuwa and the distress it caused on Zimbabweans.
Below was the statement in full:
The Zimbabwe Football Association Executive committee met on the 21st of December 2015 in Harare and resolved the following:-
1. The Zimbabwe Football Association would like to unreservedly apologise to members of the football fraternity, members of the ZIFA congress, players, Coach Mr Kalisto Pasuwa, his manager Mr Gibson Mahachi, the Warriors technical team, members of the media and all interested stakeholders for the unfortunate disturbances that characterised the Senior national team’s African Nations Championship (CHAN) preparations.
2. The Zimbabwe Football Association Executive committee would like to reaffirm its commitment to service the beautiful game of football in its entirety in line with the mandate bestowed to us by the ZIFA congress.
3. The Zimbabwe Football Association Executive committee also resolved that Coach Kalisto Pasuwa be given a contract of employment as soon as possible.
4. The Zimbabwe Football Association is currently seized with logistics for the technical team and players to resume camp immediately in preparation for the 2016 African Nations Championship (CHAN) finals.
