Sport, Art and Recreation Minister Kazembe Kazembe’ s attempt to seize a youth fundraising programme led to the total demise of the event, ZimEye.com was informed.

The fundraising programme was organised by the Youth Empowerment Programme and it was held at Mucheke Stadium.

The scheduled fundraising match between Harare Giants Dynamos and ZIFA Eastern Region Division One side Masvingo Pirates was also called off after the Glamour Boys’ last minute withdrawal due to political interference.

Youth Empowerment Hub Officials claimed Kazembe imposed himself on the fundraising event thereby jeopardising the whole process.

“We had serious problems because politicians took over the fundraising initiative.

We had to make drastic changes as a result of political interference,” said a member of the organisation.
