A REPORT ON THE NDARAMA HIGH SCHOOL EVENT BY GZU STUDENTS:
The passion for lifting the banner of the girlchild saw the Masvingo chapter holding a workshop with pupils at Ndarama High School in Masvingo last week.
The campaign was aimed at presenting some lectures on the issues affecting the girlchild in high schools:
1. Gender discrimination
2. Girl child abuse
3. Rampant rape cases
4. Equal education opportunities
5. Love affairs and the generational gap
These were some of the topics presented and were received with utmost zeal by the pupils.
More than 200 participants attended the workshop and it was so interactive with presenters and participants contributing significantly.
Touching stories were narrated by the students in relation to sexual abuse at home and at school.
For the purposes of motivation, the GCE TEAM gave away sanitary pads to all outstanding participants.
The club Director, alumini students, the Girlchild Masvingo Chapter executive, and members attended the event with passion.
