A Bikita man stabbed his neighbour several times with a knife following an argument over traditional beer popularly known as ‘seven days’.
According to acting Masvingo Provincial Police Spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Kudakwashe Dehwa, the two – Never Chokera and Chandipa Mabasa were drinking traditional beer at a homestead in Pedzai Village in Bikita on Saturday when an argument ensued.
The two argued over who should buy beer.
“There was a misunderstanding as the two were drinking beer.
Mabasa then stabbed Chokera several times in the stomach.Chokera was rushed to Mashoko Mission Hospital where he died a day after being admitted,” said Dehwa.
Mabasa is on the run and local villagers suspect he might have fled to South Africa.
