Terrence Mawawa|SA based Zimbabwean businessman Mutumwa Mawere has challenged the constitutionality of the Reconstruction Act as government continues to seize companies in the name of the controversial act.

Mawere has urged Parliament to address glaring discrepancies in the act.Mawere tweeted”: I have been fighting the constitutionality of the Reconstruction Act since 2004 alone but of late, AirZim and Hwange stakeholders have been brought into the ambit of this draconian law.

This allows for the democratization of the fight and collective problem solving. Please join the battle for change.”

“There is a deep-seated concern and uneasiness in the people who welcomed the coup with the new dispensation characterized by continued attack and disrespect of
democratic institutions through arbitrary law making and subordination of the other organs of
govt.”

“There is a lot that ought to unite us there can be no better glue than consensus on love for rights freedoms of all in Zim, rule of law, and the respect for promotion of a basic democratic constitutional order,” added Mawere.
