Farai Dziva|As the MDC A Congress hullabaloo intensifies, senior party officials in Masvingo have accused provincial chairperson James Gumbi of attempting to topple party leader Nelson Chamisa.

Disgruntled members of the MDC A Veterans Activists Association(VAA) disclosed to ZimEye.com what they described as a sinister plot to oust Chamisa at the Congress.

“We have it on good authority that Gumbi is nursing a grudge against Chamisa and he has mooted a gimmick to topple the president.

He pretends to be on Chamisa’ s side while in actual fact he is campaigning for Elias Mudzuri,” said a VAA member.

Gumbi has since refuted the claims saying he is clear on his stance to support Chamisa.
