By Own Correspondent- The Zanu PF Women’s League has condemned as regrettable utterances attributed to former president Robert Mugabe on his 95th birthday saying the utterances were an attack on President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

The women said Mugabe was out of touch with reality and must enjoy his pension and leave his predecessor to sort out the mess he left during his four decades of rule.

The sentiments by the Women’s League came during the first meeting for the national executive held at the onset of the year to map out programmes and projects to benefit women and the girl child.

The women accused Mugabe of destroying the country during his reign and also instilling fear a development which the women said had been reversed by President Mnangagwa in a short space of time.

Said Zanu PF Deputy Secretary for Women’s Affairs Angeline Masuku:

“Mr Mugabe was responsible for destroying the country during his reign and also instilling fear and this has been reversed by President Mnangagwa in a short time and Mr Mugabe must be warned to let the country move on.”-StateMedia
