By Jane Mlambo| Opposition National Constitutional Assembly leader Professor Lovemore Madhuku has condemned the assault of his party spokesperson Madock Chivasa by police in Masvingo saying police officers who delight in brutality should be punished and removed from office.
Madhuku was responding to Tajamuka leader Promise Mkhwananzi who announced that Chivasa had been brutally assaulted by police who questioned why he was not running away when everyone else was.
“Professor Madhuku led NCA Spokesperson Madock Chivasa brutally assaulted by police yesterday in Masvingo. Crime: Why are you not running away when everyone else is running away? Lesson: #Zimbabweanlivesmatter,” said Mkwananzi to which Madhuku responded saying;
“It is unacceptable. I condemn it. We condemn it. It must be condemned by all. We all must contribute towards a Zimbabwe where police officers who delight in brutality are punished and removed from office.”
