Tinashe Sambiri|Pressure groups and human rights activists have called for the immediate release of Harare Mayor Jacob Mafume.

Mafume was arrested by Mr Emmerson Mnangagwagwa as the cornered regime sought to seize control of the city of Harare.

“Jacob Mafume is innocent.

He is one of the many citizens being victimised by ZanuPf through the captured justice system.

Let’s take a moment to call for his freedom in whatever way we can.
Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere,” prominent activist, Makomborero Haruzivishe wrote on Facebook.
